It’s strange—all those online betting sites and casinos, plus the state lottery services, have just vanished from my list. It isn't like I’m looking to gamble or anything, but it felt weird seeing such a sudden drop in available services. I haven't received an official update yet, but I'm expecting the currency exchange features to roll off the truck pretty soon. I actually double-checked on my other phone just to be sure, and yeah, it's the same story: the casinos and betting apps are gone, leaving nothing but the lottery and a few basic things behind.

Word on the street is that starting November 4th, you'll be able to pick up a prepaid Visa card. Apparently, they’re going to charge a one-time fee of $10. The whole deal includes a code that you just scan from the app to link everything to your account. I saw some photos floating around on Facebook—I think News Corp might be involved—so you can probably grab one there too.

Here are the general terms and conditions for the Visa card: https://aircash.eu/opci-uvjeti-aircash-kartice/

If it’s gonna run me $10, I might as well just go with the Chase co-branded card.

Hey there.
I’ve been chewing on something and wanted to see if anyone knows how I can actually verify the full name and address of someone I'm sending money to via Venmo... basically, I was trying to snag something on Craigslist, everything was handled over email, and this seller tells me he wants me to pay through the app. He told me to just download Venmo and wait for him to send over some kind of code. When I pushed back and asked why we couldn't just do a standard Zelle transfer or a direct wire through my bank, he gave me this sketchy excuse about his account being frozen or under some kind of legal hold and he didn't want the government seizing the funds. Honestly, the whole thing smells like a total scam to me since I have zero way of knowing who this guy actually is or where he lives.

When you go to send money, you’d expect to see the recipient's actual info pop up. But since you can actually use some of these features before an account even gets fully verified, there's a real chance the data you're seeing is just total fiction.

he told me he’d send over a code and then I'd just head to a Speedway to deposit the cash

Are you seriously telling me someone can just sign up for Cash App using fake info? Like, totally made-up names, fake emails, all that? I honestly can't believe it...

It’s got some limited functionality before you actually get verified. I'm not entirely sure what the exact walls are... maybe you can't trigger payouts or send funds to other users until everything is cleared.

I think you might be overthinking this. If you're paying upfront, the biggest risk is simply losing that money. Honestly, it doesn't really matter how you pay him; if he decides not to follow through, you aren't getting paid back regardless of the method.

The real question is—what's actually going to be the difference between the Aircash MC and the Sportcard MC to make those $10 worth it?

Maybe they'll let you pull cash from ATMs here in the States. But if that isn't part of the deal, then the free Sportcard MC makes way more sense, just like you said.

So, how does this actually work? Is whatever I have on my AirCash already loaded onto my card, or do I need to manually transfer it and deal with some kind of transaction fee?

Well, I went ahead and got mine—already activated it too. I tried linking it to Curve, but it wouldn't take it... probably
just because it's a prepaid card. Based on the BIN list, though, it looks like it's an American card, if you can actually trust those lists.

@indigo258 Have you ever tried topping up your PayPal using an AirCash card?

Does anyone happen to know if this $1667 payment limit is a daily thing or more of a monthly cap?

Haven't tried it, but I guess it should work fine.

So, the PayPal card fee schedule finally dropped. Honestly, looking at it, there doesn't seem to be any actual benefit over using the Visa co-branded card.

So, what’s the verdict on the build quality? Does it feel cheap, or does it actually have some weight to it? Is there any embossing involved...

The card is actually embossed, the build quality is solid, and it definitely doesn't feel cheap. It's a red color, kind of similar to an American Express card.

I'm guessing it looks pretty much like the picture in the app?
