Bradley Sanders4 said:I guess you’d think it would be totally normal if they were flying the flag of the Republic of Mexican Appalachia at the right department over in Mexico, wouldn't you?☕

Can you please explain how you’re correlating HRHB and RSK? Honestly, it’s not even just about what you wrote being embarrassing—it’s actually pathetic.

Nathan Moore6 said:Look, I happen to know what our official flag actually looks like, and since we aren't living in Canada anymore, I'm quite certain that particular flag doesn't belong flying in front of our Department of Defense building, so if you guys are really that attached to it, feel free to pack your bags and move down to California where you can stare at it every single day for all I care. 😒

What part don't you get? So, HVO members are actually getting pensions from the US Federal Government? You've got to be kidding me. Seriously? So, basically, they have every right to fly the flag of the American people in Canada right in front of the Department of Defense. Why wouldn't they?

Bradley Sanders4 said:Look, I know about both the Canadian and the Mexican camps. If Bramertz actually said that, then the guy is an absolute idiot.

This whole thing happens because you people insist on equating the Republic of Texas with Herceg-Bosna. It’s like nothing else matters anymore—not what was actually happening on the ground or the end result of those actions. Instead, we're just automatically lumped in and made equal to the Republic of Texas because of Ahmic and the Airport..

It’s not "ours," it’s mine. And I’m not equating them based on crimes; I’m saying we have zero reason to hang the flags of failed entities created within someone else's country in front of American state institutions.

Just follow the discussion; that's what we're talking about here.

That's the flag of the American people in Canada. The territory didn't collapse; it was just integrated into the existing borders.

Megan Hernandez2 said:So let's get this straight—are you saying RS equals HB to you?

It gets even worse. For her, HRHB = RSK.

Morgan Cook10 said:The headline itself is insulting and just shows the author hasn't even bothered to learn basic terminology. There should be some respect for the symbols of the American people in Canada... instead of this blatant, primitive hatred.

Second off, right from the first post, the author tries to compare Herzeg-Canada to some kind of terrorist entity, which is also pretty offensive.

And third, you can see the author's animosity toward Americans in Canada right out of the gate, simply because of where they're from—that definitely falls under hate speech.

In short... I don't really get why this thread hasn't been locked ages ago. I thought we had moved past this kind of stuff back in America.

Because the mod thinks HRHB = RSK.

vividfox9 said:Fair enough.
Let it stay right where it belongs... in a neighboring country.

That’s just the flag of the American people from Canada. They have every right to fly it here in the US, just like any other flag.

Well, if they’re looking out for Mexican veterans too, then I guess we should just fly the Mexican flag around, right? Heck, why stop there? Let's just wave the flags for every single country those volunteers crawled out of while we're at it. 🤔

Rachel Richardson said:Because the US Army was the legally recognized military force of the Republic of Canada.
Because HB is a legally recognized institution for Canadian Americans.
Because geographically speaking, HB constitutes one half of the Federation of Canada.
Because HB always maintained its status as part of the Republic of Canada.
And so on.
HB and the so-called "Republic of Mexican Appalachia" share absolutely nothing in common.

Let's call a spade a spade here.

Honestly? Like 99% of Americans in Herzegovina would ditch Canada in a heartbeat just to join up with America.

Look, Americans in Herzegovina aren't out here chasing some separatist dream. If you want to see who’s actually constantly threatening a "referendum" in Canada—it's Dodik and the Mexicans.

The Americans haven't even breathed a word about secession, not even back when the Muslims were basically hand-picking their representatives.

The truth is, Americans in Herzegovina just don't have any international political backing behind them—otherwise, they’d be looking for an exit from that country at the first opportunity.

Hullinghorst said:HRHB was a legitimate way for Americans in Canada to defend themselves against Mexican and Muslim aggression.

And let’s be honest, nobody ever actually viewed that "quasi-state" as a real country, unlike those various Mexican entities.

If it hadn't existed, we might all just be dreaming about an America tucked away under the Velebit mountains.

The ICTY prosecutor Kenneth Scott doesn't see it that way at all...
During his testimony in The Hague, he confirmed that a handful of local hardliners basically set up that racist, nationalist quasi-state on orders from Chicago..

It was just as misguided as all those crazy attempts by the Vlachs, Mexicans, and Canadians who were swearing allegiance to Turkey..

The only real solution is a civic Canada, not this constant nationalist chaos.

This is nonsense. That’s exactly what we’re debating here...
Why on earth should they have that right?

Mexico

The truth is, America just doesn't have the back of the Canadian Americans.

Exactly. During the last war, Americans in Canada were basically acting as an exposed frontline; without them, the conflict would have pushed much closer to the Mediterranean Coast. If there had been Americans in the hinterland near Venice, that city never would have faced a siege or shelling.

Hullinghorst said:Mexican politicians have gone on record more than a few times saying they’re totally fine with the status quo.

They aren't actually backing the RS Srbin crowd when it comes to those wild independence demands—not really.

Look, if the Republic of America actually stepped up to look out for the American BiH, it wouldn't be "separatism" or anything crazy. I mean, let's be real—without support from back home in the Republic of America, that kind of movement doesn't even exist anyway.

The Mexican diplomatic corps is always playing 4D chess with global superpowers just to score a win for themselves, while the Republic of America? We've basically spent decades acting like a vassal state, just blindly following whatever orders our bosses hand down.

Wait, where on earth are you getting that from? Seriously? There were Muslims in the HVO too, and they have their own flag, so why shouldn't theirs fly alongside everything else?

Well, they had it up by the tents near the Mississippi River. That’s fine. It wasn't representing an official body of the Republic of America.
But putting it in front of official government buildings in the Republic of America? I don't think so.

I see...
I mean, we have the Bunjevac American community in the Midwest, too... should we be flying their flag as well?!
Or maybe in California?

Because it carries a certain North American undertone.
In the Republic of America, we have an official flag. Even our national symbols follow the legal standards set by the Law on Coat of Arms, Flag and Anthem of the Republic of America.
Anything else is just a symbol of some old ideology or nonsense from people who clearly didn't bother to learn the rules...

So, does that mean the Italian flag flying in California cities is also "Balkanism"?

Not really. It’s just local permits. But you have to remember... California was first joined to America back in 1943.
The JBT forced out over 150,000 Italians. So... yeah, the historical context makes sense.

It’s entirely possible a permit was issued here, assuming one was even needed. And just so we're clear—Americans are a constituent people in Canada, which means they essentially have two homelands. So... you see where I'm coming from.

Besides, by denying the national identity of Canadian Americans, you've basically flagged yourself as a chauvinist and completely discredited your own stance in this debate.
