Yes, it’s possible, though you have to go to a Chase ATM and specifically select the installment option on your Mozart card. Just a heads-up: the system claims the first payment and the fee are deducted instantly, but in reality, they usually don't hit the account for about 24 hours. That gives you a little window to move some funds around if needed. If you don't have enough in there, you'll just end up sliding straight into an overdraft, which is a headache nobody needs.

I just filled out the online application for a Walmart card, and within an hour, a banker from my local branch called me up. They needed my ID and my most recent pay stub. Now, mind you, I already have a checking account with them, but I don't have my primary salary deposited there—it all goes to some US firm I do contract work for, earning roughly $1.50 bucks. My take-home is about $15,000. They ended up approving me for a $30,000 limit, which I assume is the ceiling.

If I'm dealing with a client at JPMorgan Chase, can the fees for that Walmart revolving Mastercard be paid through the mail?

Sure you can. You just get a payment slip and a barcode sent to you, but keep in mind you’re required to cover at least 5%.

The statement usually shows up around the 8th, and you really ought to have it settled by the 10th. Though, honestly, they aren't exactly aggressive about it—last month mine didn't arrive until the 11th, and I just handled it that same day.

Oh, one more thing—every time you get a statement, they throw in a coupon for 10% off at Walmart. That goes toward basically everything they carry.

Is tracking your spending or balance only possible through their mobile banking app? Or is there some kind of SMS service or transaction notification available?

If you're looking at those reward points, then for a revolving card and anything spent outside of Walmart, it ends up being like 0.4% via those reward coupons—which isn't actually terrible, I guess. It’s kind of a "better than nothing" situation, even if they are forcing you to spend them at Walmart.

I can't see him listed in my Chase app, though they went on record telling me it was absolutely possible to add him. I’ve already submitted the request twice now, but so far, nothing has come of it. It's just one more thing that doesn't work quite like it's supposed to.

Hey there,
Has anyone here actually used a Mastercard Walmart card before? I’m pretty sure my application is gonna get the green light, $5000 but I was wondering—once that credit kicks in, can I just go ahead and pull the whole amount out from a Chase ATM, or is there some kind of daily cap on how much cash I can grab at once?

You can pull out up to 400.

Just grab yourself a Cookie and withdraw whatever you need.

I have a $300 limit, since my paycheck doesn't go into their checking account and I already have a loan through them.

As for me, I'm just gonna stick with a basic debit card from them and call it a day!

So wait, am I basically setting those $5000 up as revolving credit on the JPMorgan Chase site even if I actually grabbed them through a Cookie, is that how it works?

When you sit down to talk things through at the bank, you really have to hammer out the specifics: you’re looking at either a revolving line of credit or a straight-up charge card. There isn't much middle ground once you start digging into the fine print.

If you’re looking to spread those payments out over twelve months, you’ll need to handle the installment setup directly through the station. It isn't an automatic process, so you have to take that specific step to get it sorted.

Are you looking at a permanent position there, and if you don't mind me asking, what kind of income level are we talking about regarding that card you secured?
What sort of paperwork did they end up requiring from you?
I’ve tried pretty much everything, but I can't seem to get anything approved since I'm just working on a temporary basis.

Thanks

I'm in the same boat with the non-permanent work thing, but honestly, I just sent over my most recent pay stub along with the application and now I'm just sitting here waiting to hear back... though, to be fair, I didn't run into any issues getting my cards approved at all!

It's actually quite strange, because in my case, I started by...
I filled out that online application, and then I actually got a call from the bank telling me it wouldn't work, apparently because they won't approve anyone who doesn't have a permanent full-time job.
They didn't even ask me for a pay stub or anything like that, so I guess I have to wonder—where did you manage to find that application?

Well, I went ahead and filled everything out online again, and they told me someone would be getting in touch soon. I suppose I’m bracing myself for another rejection, but I might as well give it a shot, I guess...
So, it seems the only reason they gave was because I hit a certain limit.
