Have you checked out that map of Ireland I put up recently? I can drop it again if you want.

Ireland back in the days of Henry VIII—looking at the ethnic roots of all those nobles and big shots.

http://www.irishorigenes.com/sites/d...%20Ireland.jpg

I saw it.
But it’s already on the forum. I submitted it a few months back, along with those ethnic maps of the SW part of America based on the latest census data. 🙂

Rachel Richardson said:Exactly—it’s a tale of two distinct waves of settlement;
The first being the Ancient Greek era, followed much later by the Byzantine period under Justinian
Until, eventually, they were displaced by the Norman conquest.

Actually, that's not quite right. The Normans didn't just seize everything; they mainly introduced Latin clergy and handed ecclesiastical authority over those regions to the Pope. ☕

I misspoke. I was actually referring to Byzantine authority. 😁

Haven't run into any trouble out in the Caucasus yet. Solid map. 👍

Here’s my take on how World War III might actually kick off, if you're interested:

Someone feel free to rearrange this if you think the power distribution looks off.

Wrong thread. Besides, the map itself is poorly designed. You’ve got four colors on the map but only three listed in the legend—it makes it impossible to tell who is who (specifically if blue and red are neutralized, leaving us guessing what orange and green actually represent).

From the article:

The USA is basically just Germany!

Check out this map from their statistical bureau:

US Ethnic Map: The light blue areas represent people of German descent.

That's an old map.
But then again—did you really doubt it? 🤣

I wasn't doubting it 😁
Especially since after WWII, that Nazi virus just migrated straight to the USA, and now they're basically the new Reich...☕

It’s kind of a bummer that all this Midwest migration actually went down back in the 1800s. Plus, you’ve got those Germans in the USA being the heavy hitters against slavery. Just how it played out. 😉

Scandinavians have been there since the start of the 20th century.
And leave PFC alone—clearly, he’s the type who finds happiness in the small things.😁

By the way, there are actually more Norwegians living in the USA now than back in Norway.

Norway[a]:4,305,886[1]
USA 4,712,232 [2]

Thanks—that’s an interesting bit of trivia. 🙂
So, the USA is essentially the true homeland of the Vikings. 😬

That map clearly shows the largest group... which isn't the same thing as an absolute majority.

Anyway... Chicago... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D...ers_ethnic.png

Exactly.
I've even seen similar maps with black dots used to mark where there's a 50% plus—an actual majority. There aren't many of those, though I think they were usually about religion rather than ethnicity.

Anyway, you can't really expect any US county to be 50% Iraqi or Italian, or even Black, unless it includes a major city center without all the suburban sprawl.

My bad on that map. Didn't mean to derail the thread.
