Look, after a month of constant chanting, my "third eye" didn't suddenly snap open. I wasn't exactly drifting off into astral planes, either. And let's be honest—the angels weren't exactly lining up to help me, mostly because I hadn't even noticed they were there. My performance at MIT wasn't any better, either. Even trying suggestion-based therapy didn't yield much of a result. 🙂
Then there was my cousin—absolute disaster. He went full celibacy mode and it had some seriously dark consequences. The guy was losing his grip, acting erratic, just completely unhinged. This was despite the fact that he spent hours every single day chanting mahamantras. Then, some monk tells him he needs to be more persistent, to chant even harder. Well, doubling down on the mantra turned out to be a total catastrophe: he had a complete breakdown at 3:00 AM and ended up going out to smash someone else's property. Of course, he walked right into an ambush and got a beating he won't forget. The police eventually hauled him off to a psychiatric ward because it was pretty obvious where the mental break happened. By the next morning, he was staring at himself on the front page of the local news: University Professor Goes Rogue 😢😲😁
