Of course, I can't get a hold of anyone in customer service, so I was hoping maybe someone here could help me make sense of this error message I'm seeing. It says: "Error submitting form. Unable to save receipt confirmation to the database." It keeps popping up right after I successfully sign everything and hit send.

I’m running into a bit of a headache while trying to get registered. I went ahead and installed the certificate, but every time I hit that "register" button, it asks me for a PIN. I’ve been plugging in the initial PIN they sent over in my email (even though I also got this other encrypted PIN in a separate message), but it just keeps throwing an error at me saying: "Registration failed with the selected certificate." Does anyone have any ideas? Help me out here! 🙂

If I’m following this correctly, the issue is that the initial PIN you get via email isn't actually your login PIN—it’s just a key used to decrypt your actual PIN. You have to use that first code from the email to perform the decryption process first; once that's done, you'll be assigned the real PIN that you'll actually type in when prompted. And for heaven's sake, write it down immediately because once it's gone, it's gone forever. There should be specific instructions on how to handle the decryption; check that link they sent you in the email.

So, how do I get my hands on the new app? What’s the play here?🙂

Is anyone else having trouble accessing the RNC cards for all their clients? I’m specifically asking about those of us who hold authorizations for multiple parties. For me, it’s working for about half of them, but for the other half, I just get an error message telling me to try again. I actually reached out to the IRS via email, and their initial response was that they hadn't rolled out full access permissions to everyone yet due to the sheer volume of data being processed—which seemed like a reasonable excuse on day one. But it’s now the sixth day. They haven't even replied to my follow-up email from two days ago, and since you can't get anyone on the phone, I've been aggressively resubmitting my inquiries. Is anyone else running into this same wall?

You simply navigate to the IRS website; they've provided a direct link right there that will grant you access to the system.

Thanks, everything's up and running now.

Honestly, it wasn't even half as complicated as I thought it was gonna be at first.🙂

It didn't work for a few of my clients on the first day, but by the second day, it was working fine.
I haven't checked every single one of them yet, but I'm hoping they're all functional now. 😁

But let’s be honest: it’s actually more functional now. Stop whining, you'll get used to it. 🙂

Nope, it's totally broken. You can't even assign new permissions. You can't save a PKK file locally either—unless you export it to a PDF just to look at it later (which is a pain since everyone’s office hours aren't synced up with the IRS). Plus, you can't pull data from a submitted form into a new one.

Honestly, it feels like a total mess for something they made mandatory for basically every business out there.

But hey, at least we can upload attachments directly with the sales tax forms! It'll be way better than last year when we had to file everything online only to run down to the local office to drop off physical paperwork.

What kind of paperwork did you have to lug around for the auditor last year?

Basically, things like balance sheets, income statements, and loan agreements—though whether they ask for those depends entirely on which specific auditor you're dealing with.

Oh, and don't forget tax loss carryforwards, paid tax declarations, foreign tax credit certs... honestly, the list just keeps growing!

All sorts of stuff?
I mean, couldn't they just pull those straight from the IRS?

Last summer, I had one company ask me for a full balance sheet, but when I dealt with a different firm under the exact same agent, they didn't even ask for that. It's funny how inconsistent things can be.

So, I finally logged into this new IRS portal today, and man, it’s weird. It feels just like Facebook. All they need now is a newsfeed and some status updates. I honestly thought it was going to be straightforward, you know? But no, it’s all trendy and overcomplicated for no reason. I am genuinely curious to see how anyone is actually supposed to navigate those tax forms without losing their mind.

Actually, you can. Just open up the submitted form, strip out the signature, tweak whatever needs tweaking, and resubmit it as a fresh entry.

Best,

Best,

I haven't tried that yet, but honestly? Seems like more work than just starting from scratch.

You can definitely get something going by saving a draft version before signing off on it. I'll play around with it over the next few months and see which way is easier.

But man, that's not even my biggest headache—it's the fact that I can't save Al-Qaeda files and then view them offline (or even just scroll through old Al-Qaeda entries from a previous date).😠

The IRS website is being a total nightmare right now. I can't submit forms, and I can't even pull up tax transcripts for some of my clients. I actually spoke with a lady at the local field office yesterday, and she admitted that a ton of people have been filing complaints because the system is such a mess. She basically said they’re still trying to iron out the kinks and told me we just need to hang in there through the week—she’s personally hoping everything stabilizes by next Monday. To top it all off, getting a hold of technical support is impossible; they aren't responding to any of my emails at all.

It’s running like a total dream for me 👍

I wasn't sure if you were aware that things have shifted recently and you actually need to log in through this portal now:
