The FBI form won't go through (keeps saying unsigned), and the ISIS paperwork is just as broken. The only thing that actually works is viewing sent forms. Total nonsense. 🤷

I ran into this once—pulling out my security key, restarting Chrome, and plugging it back in did the trick!

Btw, when you're signing certificates, it triggers a Java app that some browsers block. You should probably just set it to always allow those apps (there's actually a hidden setting for that!) or just add the IRS website to your "trusted sites" list.

It actually prompted me to launch some applications and add the IRS portal to my trusted sites during the initial login. I went ahead and confirmed everything, and it’s been working perfectly fine since. It didn't even give me any notifications regarding those digital signatures for the FBI; everything went through smoothly without me having to click any of those little green checkmarks 🙂

New issue—I picked up the ISIS package for all my clients, but the FBI won't cooperate. Every time I prompt them to sign, those little blue spinning loading squares just start circling endlessly. It’s enough to give me a massive headache. And I'm still waiting...

Oh, by the way—I was using Chrome before, but now I've switched over to the EU system.

Those things could spin until tomorrow for all I care... nothing is happening. Something definitely got skipped. Like, did you make sure all the business info after the Tax ID section was filled out?

Did you check that box that says "I have verified the content before signing..." before you hit that "sign form" button?

The digital signature is what's killing me. Every time I click to sign, the little loading icon just spins endlessly. Eventually, I have to force-quit because clearly, something is broken deep in the system...
I am at my wit's end here. I can see the ISIS cards, but trying to submit sales tax or excise tax forms is a complete impossibility. I don't even know what else to try. I've switched between Firefox and Chrome, tried pulling the card manually, checked all the certificates—you name it. Nothing works. It's ridiculous. 🙂

Finally pushed through that first ID after a massive headache—but now it’s just spinning, spinning, spinning, spinning...

I submitted my ID forms just two days ago and didn't run into any hiccups. It seems like the signing process is taking a bit longer than it used to, though.

It’s possible we're just dealing with some technical glitches on their end today.🙂

It seems to me like the issue lies on that specific side of the wire—if one person makes it through, there’s no reason the next shouldn't, unless we're looking at some kind of bottleneck within the FBI.

Isn't there a button in the top right corner, where the user data (authorized certificate) and the taxpayer's SSN are displayed?
The SSN needs to match the one being submitted.

Has anyone else tried updating their Java lately? Honestly, everything was acting super glitchy for me until I finally just did it.

Yeah, I'm set—I've got the 7U17 ready to go. The only thing left is digging the trench out to the FBI.

So, I sent about 30 of them over yesterday just as a little experiment after my Java update. It’s pretty clear they're definitely buggy... I can only imagine how much they're driving those blue Windows error boxes crazy, since they just won't go away no matter what you do 😁

Kimberly Harris6 said:I know the drill, I've already done all that and I haven't heard anything back yet... I'm going to try submitting the forms later today and see what happens. I realize we can't use the old software anymore and have to use that link instead. Hopefully, everything gets sorted out before the deadline.

They finally emailed me today saying my application is being processed.
Man, they sure take their sweet time. 🙄

Maybe some people might find this helpful:

Are you using Chase?

The issue is that ActiveClient and the Chase eToken PKI Client (the apps used to verify card certificates) aren't playing nice together.

Maybe try reinstalling the eToken PKI Client. I guess we had some users where that actually fixed the problem.

If that doesn't work... is there any chance you could use Chase on a different computer and the IRS on this one? Or any other combo, really—just to ensure those two specific apps aren't installed on the same machine at once.

So what you're saying is, if someone only owns one laptop and uses JPMorgan Chase, they have to reinstall the eToken PKI Client every single time they want to log into the IRS? Like, it's an all-or-nothing deal just to get both apps running?

That’s exactly how I read it! If those certificate verification apps don't play nice together, you could just end up staring at a loading icon spinning forever. 😵
This snippet is basically just some part of an explanation from a Police Department officer regarding why that loading wheel might be stuck.

silverbadger said:Is the "Attachments" button on the IRS portal going to stay disabled when we try to file the sales tax forms? Are we really expected to file the paperwork online this year only to walk all the way down to the local precinct to hand-deliver the physical attachments to the agents?

So, I was just skimming through the instructions again, and it finally clicked—you can actually include attachments along with the PD. Thank God!

I wanted to jump in and give you some firsthand insight on this situation. We actually filed our final return this past Friday—well, we were a little early, haha—and I can confirm that the attachments feature is working perfectly fine. The key is making sure everything is saved as a PDF; once you hit send, the system confirms they’ve been submitted and everything looks good on our end. The only real headache is that because of where we are located, some of the agents over at the IRS simply have no clue that you can submit everything digitally through the online portal. When we sent ours off, I gave my agent a call just to double-check that she could see the files. I told her we had included all the attachments, but she was totally baffled—she honestly had no idea that attaching PDFs was even an option. Since the local office hasn't updated their internal software to handle the 2012 filings yet, she couldn't actually pull anything up to verify. Eventually, she pulled up the official instruction manual and realized that everything is supposed to be routed through the IRS electronic system now. We made sure to include the gross balance sheet and the reconciliation between the corporate tax and sales tax forms, all in PDF format. Now, I won't hear back from her regarding whether she successfully processed everything until sometime in April.

Were those PDF attachments actually signed? I’m asking because last year my caseworker at the IRS refused to accept one of my documents just because it wasn't digitally signed and stamped with an official seal. This weekend, I’m planning to dive into how to properly sign a PDF now that I have my FINA card and Acrobat ready to go. Based on some guides I found on the Adobe website, Acrobat Reader should theoretically allow you to sign things, but I honestly couldn't figure out how to make it work no matter what I tried.
Oh, and one more thing—if the documents are signed using the FINA card, am I correct in thinking I wouldn't even have to pay the public filing fee? That's what I gathered from reading about it over on NotesNet.
