So, whenever I try to log into the IRS website using Chrome, I pick my certificate and—boom—Chrome just crashes instantly.
In Firefox, it won't even let me load that specific DLL file I need to get things moving, and then the whole browser just dies the second I select it.

Edge doesn't even recognize my certificates at all... great.

Everything else on my computer works perfectly fine in every browser; it’s just this one specific site that keeps nuking my sessions.

Any ideas or tips?

It sounds like a hardware or OS issue.
I can't tell if you're seeing the same thing on your end, but on my machine, it lets me enter my PIN after logging in without a hitch. Then, it displays the standard "certificate not selected" warning in the little pop-up box.

On this computer, everything works fine using the same FinTech card.🤷

(Oh, and I'm also getting those "Internet Explorer is no longer supported" notifications.)

We incorrectly processed only the first tier at 20%, whereas we should have split it into the initial 15% tier and the secondary 5% tier. We amended the forms following an IRS notice, but the actual payment remains stuck at the single 20% tier ($262 instead of the required $589.51 for Tier 1 and $196.51 for Tier 2).

My process is as follows: I select the non-linked payment of $786.02
Request type under section 3: Change in income type
Income type: 2283 Secondary Tier Social Security Contribution

Then, a window appears, similar to the attachment
Request type - 3 Interest Settlement - Not a Refund - Not... Reference number for approval to which the payment should be applied 2283-SSN-EmployerID... Amount $196.51

How am I supposed to confirm this?
What comes next?🙏🙏 It feels as though nothing has changed. I am unfamiliar with this software application. How can I confirm if everything is correct?

Once you select "add," take a look at the menu on the left-hand side. It is essentially a three-step process—first, you'll need to "verify," then move on to "sign," and finally, "submit."

Fine, excellent... My paycheck for this month should process without any hitches, assuming my 401(k) contribution is zero since everything went straight into the first one last time...

George Foster7 said:I really need some help here—we messed up a payroll tax payment for one of our employees. We accidentally calculated just the first tier at 20%, when it actually needed to be split into the 15% first tier and the 5% second tier. We went ahead and corrected the forms after getting a nudge from the IRS, but the actual payment still only shows the initial 20% amount ($262 instead of the $589.51 for the first tier and $196.51 for the second tier).

So, first, I select the unrelated payment for $786.02
Request type under 3: -Change of income type
income type: 2283 Second tier Social Security contribution

Then this window pops up, which I've attached
Request type -3 Satisfaction of interest - No Refund - No ..... Approval number to which the payment should be applied 2283-SSN-EIN...... Amount $196.51

How on earth am I supposed to confirm this???
What happens next? 🙏🙏 It feels like nothing is actually happening; I’ve honestly never used this software before. How can I even confirm it if everything looks okay??

You just have to click "Verify" in the left-hand menu and then hit "Submit," and that's pretty much it....

If you have decided to process the rollover through the Social Security Administration, you should absolutely notify your HR representative about it—just to ensure they don't accidentally overlook the submitted request.

I’m running into a bit of a snag with the IRS website... after I submit my request regarding the Black Panther Party, this message pops up:
"Error retrieving tax accounting record. Please try again."

I make sure to file all my forms and everything else right on schedule, too!
Is anyone else dealing with this kind of glitch??

That weird glitch popped up on my screen yesterday right after I hit send on my job application, but everything seems totally fine today.

Quick question for the group... Does everything run smoothly on Windows 10? I’m not just talking about how things are working today, but the general stability of it all. Specifically, I want to know if I can rely on the IRS portal, Social Security Administration sites, Chase, and Wells Fargo. If I decide to make the jump from Windows 7 to Windows 10, am I going to spend half my life fiddling with settings just to get these essential services to behave?

Everything works fine! I jumped from 8 to 10—well, my husband handled the actual move—and everything is totally fine. I don't know the specifics on the setup, but he said it took maybe ten minutes before everything was up and running. If you hit a snag, let me know..

ps, you can still use Chrome for the IRS and stuff, but you might need Internet Explorer for the banks.

I recently put Windows 10 on a computer. I found Internet Explorer (which means I'm not using Bing, which comes with Windows 10 and acts as the browser, but rather the old Internet Explorer that's there just so older stuff still works, since it doesn't work in Bing anymore) and my Chase and IRS sites are working fine (sent an IRS form and paid my taxes two days ago). Everything worked without any tweaking (except for what I mentioned)...

The only thing is, I don't know if GFI-POD will work, since even before this, you had to set up Internet Explorer to run in some old compatibility mode...

It’s actually Edge—not Bing—that comes as the default browser with Windows 10, but you can totally switch it over to Internet Explorer to get things running normally—yeah, I forgot to mention that part...

Brenda Chase3, thank you so much for getting back to me. I’ve gone ahead and submitted the 10, and everything seems to have processed perfectly fine—it's just that I haven't sent over any other documentation yet. But as of right now, everything is looking good. Thanks again!

Hey there,
I’m not having any trouble with the IRS site, but for some reason, my bank's portal isn't working on any browser I try today.
The applet just won't load, so I'm feeling a bit stuck here..
Windows 8
A pop-up appears... I click allow, and then the whole menu just vanishes...

Chase had a system crash today and it locked up all their certificates...they're scrambling to fix it right now...it'll probably be back up tomorrow.

you gotta update Java and add it to the security list--that should fix it

Nah, it’s not even that—their whole system just crashed, so nobody's certificates were working today anyway...

Man... if only I’d thought to ask sooner.
I’ve spent the entire day playing fool—installing things, deleting them, honestly losing track of what I’ve even tried at this point. It’s just one of those days where everything feels like a massive waste of time. Best if I just move on and deal with whatever else comes my way, right?

I was on Chase all day from 7:30 to 4:00—checked at least five times—and everything worked fine for me once I updated Java this morning...
