Alright, check this article first so you actually know what I'm talking about: http://news.com/world/article/2010...06.html?pos=n0

So, I’ve been thinking—why is it that most people read a story like this and just laugh it off? You see comments like, "Oh, look at him, little guy thinks he's a player," or "The old man is just jealous and reported him." Total nonsense. But if the roles were reversed—if it was a young girl being seduced by an older man—the reaction would be instant fury. It’d be: "Pedophile!" "He should be hanged!" "I'd castrate him myself!" "Poor little girl!"
What is the actual difference between these two scenarios when they are fundamentally the exact same thing?
Don't get me wrong, maybe I don't view this specific case as terrifyingly as I would if the genders were flipped, but I honestly can't wrap my head around why society acts this way. :O

I think there really is a massive difference—mainly in how the sexual experience itself is perceived (traumatic vs. pleasurable). Personally, back in my younger days, I wouldn't have had an issue sleeping with some older woman. Then again, everything depends on the age gap, the level of coercion, and all that.

It isn't the same.

Teachers deserve medals, not just tenure 😁

But in all seriousness: male pedophiles—regardless of the victim's gender—need to be prosecuted with equal severity, primarily because there is almost always an element of FORCE involved.
On the flip side, female pedophiles, especially when targeting boys, tend to rely less on physical coercion. To me, that’s the fundamental distinction.

If the roles were reversed and there was no coercion involved, would you still be claiming this was acceptable?

Male pedophiles are sick perverts, whereas female ones are basically a teenage boy's ultimate fantasy. 😁

🤣 😬
That’s about right... I think almost everyone (except maybe 😁 ) has fantasized about an older woman 😁 taking care of them...
But looking back... if some older woman had made a move on me when I was 15, I wouldn't call it assault, goodness gracious 😁

I’m pretty sure little girls have their own little fantasies about some rugged, silver-fox type uncle figure, but honestly, that’s not even what we’re talking about here
and let’s be real, if you start bringing force into the equation, you’ve completely missed the point and ended up in an entirely different conversation

Exactly. Stop daydreaming about some hot teacher from a movie and start picturing a bloated old lady walking up to a twelve-year-old kid, slapping him across the face, and telling him to strip down before grabbing him—suddenly the whole vibe changes, doesn't it?

Honestly, you just have to look at the posters on a typical twelve-year-old girl's bedroom wall to see what's actually going on.

I guess I’d just point out that whether it’s a man or a woman... the mindset behind being a pedophile is pretty much the same. Both sides have these deep-seated issues and a tendency toward the same kind of behavior... even if the specific methods they use might look different on the surface. To me, it's all the same thing and deserves the exact same level of condemnation.

Wrong!

In the vast majority of child abuse cases, whether it's a guy or a woman doing it, physical force is actually pretty rare. And let's not forget that most of these predators are close family members or someone the kid actually trusts. It's usually more about manipulation or bribery—you know, the whole "here's a toy or some candy" routine. Physical violence? Hardly ever part of the equation.

I'm with you there... I remember back in middle school, even by fifth or sixth grade, girls were already obsessing over guys (mostly rock stars and actors) who were easily 20 or even 30 years older than them...

Let me pose this question once more to the guys who seem to agree on this: for silentpilot6, Franooe, and placidranger, where exactly do we draw the line? Based on your logic, forty seems to be perfectly acceptable, but what happens if the woman is sixty or seventy? Or even forty? You all seem to constantly overlook the fact that not every older woman fits that narrow stereotype of a perfectly sculpted, youthful figure.

Just imagine for a second—what if tomorrow you discovered that a colleague, a neighbor, or perhaps a relative your own age was involved with your son? Would your reaction really be, "Way to go, son! You’re living out every teenager's wildest dream! Keep it up!"?

I honestly have no clue how ANYONE here could even attempt to defend pedophiles—man or woman... 🤷
I’m pretty sure they’re the only group (besides rapists) I’d actually vote for the death penalty over!

It depends on age.🤷
In my view, shortly after hitting puberty and when those biological drives kick in, a person becomes stable enough that consensual sex doesn't necessarily leave lasting trauma—regardless of gender. In American society, teen sex is treated as a taboo subject, but it isn't universal. I'm being serious—there are certain tribal cultures in the Pacific where kids are encouraged to explore their sexuality with peers, or even older individuals, once they hit puberty.
The US is structured differently. Sexual activity at such an early age can lead to unplanned pregnancies, which creates a mess for both the parents and the child born into that situation. So, in our context, the circumstances themselves create the trauma, not necessarily the act itself.

Personally, I think any involvement with a pre-pubescent child is an incomparably worse crime—regardless of the child's gender or any concept of "consent"—than involvement with an older child. Once they get older, things become much more complicated.

What's the point? I don't follow what you're getting at.

True. If force is used, it's rape regardless of who is doing it.
Without force, it's... well, it's a gray area. I'd say the act itself might not carry massive trauma, but girls face a significantly higher risk of trauma due to the possibility of pregnancy.
The risk of emotional scarring from the relationship itself exists for both genders—though perhaps it's higher for girls, but I won't claim that definitively.🤷 )

Hopefully we don't have to wait nine months for a title change:

Renata Ch. (42), a former high school handball coach, just became a mom to a little boy. 😁

Well, from what I understand, pedophiles specifically target those who haven't developed secondary sexual characteristics...
A 14, 15, or 16-year-old doesn't fall under that category anymore. There is a different term for it, but I can't recall it right now. 😁

Hmm... it depends on how the woman looks. If she's a total milfača 😬, I’d probably tell him, "Even your dad would approve," 😁 or "That's my boy." 😬
If it were some creep, though, I'd ask him if he's lost his mind.

I'm not sure what smart thing to say here... ultimately, you have to distinguish between situations involving coercion and those that are consensual.
Coercion is a criminal offense... but if it's voluntary, 🤔 I really don't know what to say. 🤷
Dammit... I can't help but imagine being a 15-year-old kid hooking up with that teacher 🙂 who was maybe 28 at the time. If someone found out and she got in trouble, I'd be the first one defending her.

Admittedly, we've drifted off-topic in recent posts... 15 years old isn't pedophilia.

There is absolutely no justification or mercy for pedophilia.
Since we don't have the death penalty or execution here, forty years in prison is the way to go... but you have to agree that when an older woman sleeps with a 15-year-old, it isn't the same thing as some 45-year-old jerk attacking a 9-year-old girl. 😢

So, does it actually matter if some random uncle decides to prey on a fifteen-year-old?
It isn't even about who wants to sleep with whom or who's supposedly "better" at it; it’s about the fact that an adult is leveraging their power to manipulate someone who is still fragile and hasn't even fully formed yet—someone that kind of person can easily shatter for a lifetime and leave them as nothing more than a wreck.

Do you think it would actually be harmful to some hormone-driven 15-year-old—the kind who gets worked up just from a gust of wind 😁 if an older woman reached out to him? Of course, that’s assuming he's actually interested
.
I realize it isn't easy to draw a hard line between what's damaging and what isn't, or where curiosity ends and something else begins... but we can't just lump everything into one category.

Don't get me wrong, I am "generally against" 😬 any relationship involving a massive age gap. To me, seeing a 25-year-old with a 45-year-old feels off 🤔 🤷 but then again... there are nuances to every situation.

Look, you have to realize that even fifteen-year-old girls feel that same pull, and it isn't exactly a challenge for some fifty-year-old creep to sweep them off their feet with nothing more than a few chocolates, some soda, a couple of rides around town, or whatever other nonsense they’re peddling...
And what’s the likely outcome here??
These kids are going to genuinely believe they're in some grand romance, doing absolutely everything they're told, completely unable to grasp or even recognize that they're really just being used as disposable tools to satisfy someone else's whims.
Then, once they get dumped, grow up, and finally see the reality of it all... we're talking depression, suicidal ideation, and irrational vendettas.
With them, unlike those twenty-five-year-olds, you can't exactly expect any level of mental stability or common sense, yet you certainly can't sit back and let them throw away their education and their entire lives just to be someone else's plaything.
Honestly, it's a little terrifying that I even have to spell this out.

I think you might be painting a slightly too catastrophic picture of how these things play out.
Regarding point A, how many instances like this actually exist? I honestly have no idea, but I find it hard to believe they are widespread... As for point B, how many people end up dealing with serious trauma from this? Again, I’m not sure, but my gut tells me it isn't a massive number, or perhaps people just don't talk about it openly. 🤷

Besides, the title of this thread feels a bit off because what we’re discussing here isn't pedophilia.

And who is even talking about dropping out of school or ruining their lives?

Ultimately, I’m speaking from my own experience; when I was 15, I had wet dreams 😁 featuring a total knockout of a teacher as the lead.
If those dreams had actually come true, do you really think it would have negatively impacted my life? I don't believe so. That’s why I can't judge these scenarios "by default"—provided, of course, that there is absolutely no coercion involved.

We’ve all had those fever dreams, silentpilot6,
and let’s be honest, actually acting on them would probably wreck your life in more ways than one.
The whole thing isn't just about some casual physical hookup; it’s about how you'd end up totally vulnerable to someone older, more established, and way more experienced—someone who can mess with your head under the guise of that whole "extra guidance" romantic cliché.
In a setup like that, the question isn't really about how attractive the teacher is, but rather what kind of role she occupies in your world and why your own perception makes her seem like the perfect fit.
I mean, let's face it, any gym teacher in the country could probably put together their own little harem if they felt like it.

When I was 15, I had a massive crush on a girl just my age—my first real heartbreak 😍 haha—though we never actually hooked up 😬... if I’m going to suffer through unrequited love, I’d much rather be pining after a total MILF professor who would make the struggle worth it 😬

Ultimately, why does there need to be some complex manipulation or psychological games involved, like you suggested? An older woman wants a younger guy, and we just hook up because we want to...

Look, people aren't made of glass 😉 and sleeping with an experienced woman isn't necessarily going to traumatize them. My first sexual experience was with a virgin... honestly, getting bit by a dog left me with more trauma 😁 than if I had ended up with some seasoned pro. I guarantee it 😁
