p.s. It feels like keeping the recommendations focused on psychology would be better for our reach...

If you want to bring up a general subject—say, passive-aggressiveness—but aren't looking for a "help, someone is being passive-aggressive to me" type of thread, but rather a deep dive into definitions, root causes, or common patterns, that would belong in the main section. How you actually frame it really comes down to your own style, your expertise, and how creative you feel like being. That front section isn't necessarily about rigid, stuffy topics or strict academic discourse; it’s more about exploring concepts, interpretations, breakdowns, and shared traits... I suppose you could write about anything from a high-level professional perspective or just a casual one anywhere, but the actual focus of the topics is what sets them apart.

Edit: We'll figure out the specific guidelines and recommendations once we decide on the best placement—as I mentioned, everything is still very much a work in progress; thanks for the input.

Based on those guidelines, BPD isn't really a "specialized" topic here. In the past, these threads usually split down the middle: half were support groups, and the other half were just people venting about being targeted by someone with BPD. It caused constant friction, but the moderators wouldn't budge on separating the support threads from the general discussion ones. Besides, once you cover the basic definitions of BPD, you've pretty much exhausted the subject in three posts.🤷

I hope this thread stays strictly for feedback and suggestions while the forum finds its footing.

I honestly don't understand what your issue is, especially considering you've only put up about eighty posts on this entire forum. If we eventually need a dedicated support thread for Borderlines, we'll make it—but I wouldn't necessarily separate Borderlines from others, though I would certainly try to manage the tone of the discussion on the current thread.

Personally, I hope you aren't expecting us to use some magic wand to split apart a community that users have, over many years, shaped into a specific cohesive unit through their very way of interacting. We can always start new threads down the road, as needs arise.

If by "critiques and suggestions," you mean rushing into this thread to comment on every single little adjustment we make over the coming days or weeks—and having us constantly explain and justify our vision—then I'm afraid you're wishing for something that isn't going to happen. 😁

And why does my post count even matter? Just because I’m not hitting "reply" doesn't mean I'm not lurking and reading everything here.

Well, it matters because it reflects your motivation to actually contribute to the community and help shape how this sub-forum looks. If you’re using this handle just to drop criticisms like this while keeping another account for regular participation—well, I suppose that isn't particularly fair.

I'm honestly quite confused by these accusations that we moderators aren't willing to implement what users are asking for. Most suggestions are actually heard and taken seriously—it's just that some things take a little time to execute. Right now, we really need some breathing room to overhaul this sub-forum so we can build a solid foundation for future improvements; so, if you could please be patient and give us the space to work without being distracted by these spammy threads, we'd appreciate it. We are doing this with the best intentions, and that's really all we ask in return. I guess we can get back to these minor arguments when things are a bit less hectic.
