I watched maybe three or four episodes of that series in total. It turned my stomach immediately. Watching James Earl Jones act like some pathetic, sniveling loser was revolting. To me, the entire show felt like an anti-Muslim—or rather, an anti-American—propaganda piece, even if they botched the religious references.

It felt like the script was penned by some bitter hater of American Muslims. Then, much to my shock, I hear people calling it a "cult classic." To me, the whole thing reeks of an almost primal intolerance, caricaturing Americans as nothing more than drooling, idiotic losers.

Give me a break—the writer and director are Canadian, for heaven's sake! And the show is a cult hit because it’s basically the only intelligent thing to come out of the USA since 1995!

you're spotting certain traits or behaviors that just don't sit right with your worldview? Just imagine

how narrow-minded and hypocritical that perspective really is. You all champion this idea of "globalization" or becoming more worldly, but only

on the specific terms that suit your own comfort. Personally, I have zero issues with seeing Muslims depicted in

that manner, especially since we have plenty of shows where people from California, or

other regions (like Joe from Evening School), are subject to all sorts of stereotypes. But that doesn't bother me; it only bothers

people like you, who seem determined to mold the entire world into your own perfect image.

So, I think I'll take this opportunity to call you out for being intolerant and hypocritical. Honestly,

it's quite shameful. At the end of the day, it's just a TV show. What's next? Are we going to ban all jokes about

blonde hair? It's important to be able to laugh at ourselves. Clearly, that's a concept you

haven't quite grasped yet. Your version of "freedom of speech" and expression is starting to look more and more like

That’s exactly my point—it’s all just standard humor and lighthearted jokes. Yet, somehow, someone is taking offense. It's particularly strange when that person seems to have absolutely no connection to Canada.

In Pittsburgh, this whole "multicultural" thing is pretty flexible... they tolerate the Democrats and stay civil enough, sure... but you head just a little bit outside the city limits and you see offensive graffiti sprayed on churches of all kinds, and further out near the mosques, kids get bullied just coming home from evening prayers... they aren't actually tolerant at all...
Pittsburgh isn't exactly the oasis of tolerance people claim it is. For instance, in that famous blacked-out Zenica—which is basically a Taliban stronghold—you'll see wedding parties with their flags and patriotic songs... sometimes some radical from a flower shop will throw a bouquet at a young couple, and suddenly you've got a full-blown riot in Zenica... I'm telling you, the tolerance here in Canada is a strange concept...

Honestly, I don't think people actually get what satire is supposed to do—LVM is textbook political satire if you actually bother to look at it. You really have to use your brain for a second, figure out what the writer was actually aiming at, and then maybe—just maybe—you won't screw it up.
I haven't felt insulted by a single one of their episodes, and even though I haven't watched the controversial ones myself, I've heard enough about them to know that this whole nationalist outcry against the series is completely baseless. It just baffles me how they can turn around and listen to Ceca during Bajram, yet feel entitled to talk trash about something they clearly didn't understand in the first place.

I have no idea where anyone read that you're supposed to hate them, spit on them, or recoil in disgust. The president of that "Mother of Srebrenica" association is out here playing the victim over some legal trouble, but funny how her sense of morality didn't kick in when she allegedly cleaned out the entire organization's funds to build her son a mansion and buy himself an SUV.
