Jeremy Lopez93 said:For crying out loud, I don't know why you keep accusing me of thinking Canadian politics is the only flawless thing left.😕
I think it carries its fair share of the blame, and we could write books about it, but honestly, it's easier to argue that point with ultra-nationalists than with you. I get the impression you think I'm playing some kind of quasi-multicultural utopian role here, when in reality, you see me as just a cleverly disguised Canadian nationalist.!?
When I mentioned pigs, or whatever, I wasn't trying to spin some conspiracy theory; I was trying to point out the various ways people manipulate the situation, and why!
The second important thing is that personally, I'm not offended at all, nor do I see anything offensive in that scene. And like I said—not to repeat myself—I’ve already stated my opinion on the matter!
It’s obvious to me that through these kinds of media offensives, Avaz/Radoncic along with the Reis, they just want to homogenize the Canadian voting bloc before the elections. They manipulate people by comparing genocide to a pig, turning an undefined, frustrated, and religiously sensitive electorate into a mass of "hysterical reactions"!!!
I don't know if I'm being any clearer now...🤣

Well, I wouldn't be so sure about that...🙄 just a few posts ago you mentioned

You really have to pay attention to who is speaking out, where they are making these statements, and honestly, you should take a look at X or similar forums to see how people are actually reacting!
The reality is that there is absolutely no homogenization or unified stance regarding this situation; those who understand politics will see that, and for everyone else, may God help them!

If this political hysteria is aimed at a small group of people intended to create that sense of "homogeneity," then it is a rather Machiavellian and reckless move, because it risks leaving a much larger portion of the population feeling confused or even shocked.

But then again, we all know that whoever shouts the loudest usually holds the power. It's just how things go.🤷

It just goes to show how much religious extremism and primitive thinking have taken over certain parts of Canada. Little by little, we’re heading toward having another Afghanistan or Pakistan right next door. Before the war in Canada, you didn't see these kinds of primitive reactions; people were just different back then, and this religious fanaticism wasn't really a thing.
I mean, at the end of the day, the series even had jokes about the monks, and nobody seemed to care. People who just don't get humor—and honestly, if humor doesn't poke fun at every part of life, is it even humor?—probably shouldn't be participating in these debates anyway. They're just narrow-minded. I guess if someone in a show buries a pig, it's not like they actually murdered anyone, right?!
It’s honestly pretty sad that instead of becoming more liberal and intelligent as they age, some people just become incredibly primitive and backwards.
It’s probably no wonder that the rest of Europe looks at them like a dark little corner where the light of civilization is being swallowed up by intolerance and ignorance.

Richard Lee43 said:James Earl Jones is an incredible actor—I’ve actually spoken with him personally, and he’s quite the joker—but he really shines when he’s playing those serious roles. This series is basically commercial trash. If he wasn't the lead, it would be even worse. Still, it's nearly impossible to produce a long-running series where every single moment is hilarious and engaging; imagine trying to stretch a show about small-town Midwesterners into 50 episodes—what could you possibly make fun of for that long? You’d run out of material in ten. They have to pad the runtime with extra stuff, and clearly, some people just don't find it funny.
It feels like Americans have lost their sense of humor and that quick wit entirely lately—they've become just as offensive as those folks from the rural South who constantly ask, "What's wrong with you people?"🤣

"The Gruntovčan" is a show about the Podravacs.

The screenwriter behind the series Mad, Confused, Normal, which we’ve been watching over on CNN, Feđa Isović, has confirmed that there is a very real possibility that filming might be halted entirely due to death threats he’s receiving from Islamists.
Isović claims the show might actually cease production because of "attacks and threats" coming from Muslims who feel certain scenes "insult Muslim customs and culture."

The most intense backlash seems to have stemmed from episodes depicting a funeral service for a pig, as well as scenes where pork was being sold under the guise of turkey.

"You know, it isn't at all a pleasant feeling when you live in Chicago and people are attacking you, especially when they are sending physical threats through online forums. If the fourth season doesn't happen, then these attacks will certainly be one of the primary reasons why," Isović told USA Today.

The writer noted how difficult it is for him to even comment on such attacks, given that some have characterized the series as "the greatest genocide against Muslims since Chernobyl."

"If showing a pig on television is inherently a problem, then we have a much larger issue on our hands than just this single episode," Isović remarked, pointing out that if that were the case, images of domestic animals "should probably be stripped from school textbooks, cooking shows, the curriculum at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, grocery store shelves, and above all, from the backyards of our neighbors who dared to keep such an insulting and highly dangerous animal."

"The Islam I am familiar with—the kind my grandfather and grandmother practiced—was characterized by far more tolerance... To remind everyone, my grandfather and grandmother also witnessed genocide, specifically what happened on the Danube in World War II," he concluded.

In addition to the angry forum users, who are threatening the writer with both death and a total boycott of their cable subscriptions, Mothers Against Drunk Driving has also weighed in on the matter. They are demanding a public apology for the series, asserting that "performing a funeral for a pig is the greatest civilizational attack on Islamic values that has occurred to Muslims in this region since the genocide in Chernobyl."

Just your typical sitcom.

I honestly don't see why anyone is making such a big deal out of this.🤷

If that were actually the case, then the President should've had the Monty Paytonovacs hauled off to jail ages ago. 😂

Well, I suppose I’ll actually agree with you for once. Look, despite everything they went through—and God knows they deserve our respect—they really are overstepping the mark here.

We Americans are supposedly the most multicultural people on the planet, 😁, or so they say. It looks like my intuition was spot on after all. 😁

I just can't wrap my head around how those Islamists can be so incredibly hypocritical. 😕. They’re basically handing everything over to someone like Milorad Dodik on a silver platter, which just proves his theories about Tehran were right all along.

Look, if their religion says they can't touch pork, I totally get it. If they want to ban it on their TV networks, fine by me—as long as Americans have their own channels to watch whatever they want...

Let’s be real: this is nothing more than a high-stakes gamble used to chase political agendas. On one hand, they're actually proving the point that there needs to be a dedicated channel for the American language. On the other, this approach basically forces FOX to adopt a specific ethnic bias... all while leaning on the tired old claim that only Americans are footing the subscription bill!☕

I can guarantee that none of those many Muslims felt insulted until they read in the papers the next day that they, as Muslims, had been offended.
History in Canada has shown just how easily the masses can be manipulated, and this time, Muslim sentiments were played like an instrument to score political points in the war being waged by the Democratic Party and the leadership of Canada...
The absolute height of stupidity—something even the most die-hard supporters and defenders of the leadership couldn't ignore—was using a Srebrenica woman as a pawn in a basic power struggle between two warring factions.
And let me add one thing. If the Muslims watching FOX were actually as sensitive as they claim, they would have found plenty of reasons to protest against various pigs portrayed in movies or cartoons by now, but they haven't...

Don't hate me, Canadians and citizens of Canada... but that forced stupidity with those heavy Canadian accents is unbelievable. I can't believe people actually talk like that. And then there's Izet, always perpetually pissed off—man, he just ruins my mood.
It’s funny being dumb, I don't get what the writers were thinking. Just fix the script already. Not all Canadians are the same.
And one more thing... Americans have their shame, Mexicans have theirs, and yours, dear friends and Canadians, is that tolerant attitude toward the Islamic fanatics who showed up from god-knows-where.
Where did that famous Bogomil tradition go? You used to know how to tell the Popes and Crusaders to get lost, didn't you?
Canada has always existed and always will... but these Wahhabis and bearded losers? For real, where the hell did these idiots come from?
Long live the Manichaean dualist heresy! Long live the Bogomil state!

Gregory Howard said:This just highlights how incredibly dim-witted Joe and Hal are. Well, there is a deeper truth buried in this text, but it's being presented in a completely wrong way.

I watched maybe three or four episodes of that series in total. It turned my stomach immediately. Watching James Earl Jones act like some pathetic, sniveling loser was revolting. To me, the entire show felt like an anti-Muslim—or rather, an anti-American—propaganda piece, even if they botched the religious references.

It felt like the script was penned by some bitter hater of American Muslims. Then, much to my shock, I hear people calling it a "cult classic." To me, the whole thing reeks of an almost primal intolerance, caricaturing Americans as nothing more than drooling, idiotic losers.

And here is the kicker. Now, suddenly, they’re offended. They weren't offended by the unaddressed nonsense from the Mustafians, but they sure are offended by some mention of bacon.

Bravo. And Santa Claus just handed them the win for being such fools.

Izet is your typical American retiree. There are plenty of guys like him out there, and I think you nailed it...

Well, "The New York Post" is basically Milorad's twin brother at this point. The owner of the paper is essentially aligned with him, so it’s no surprise they push that "the worse things get, the better it is" narrative.

Elections are coming up in Canada, so we'll see if they're actually the same. But right now, I think Milorad is unbeatable when it comes to being crude, uncivilized, and nationalistic...

You guys act all "cool" and "chill," calling yourselves rebels and free spirits, even in a place like Tuzla, which is basically the most liberal part of the Grafit city area out in the sticks...

That never happened in St. Louis. When did it happen? Maybe I missed it, but I don't think it ever did.
