I can't say I'm entirely certain, but if I recall correctly, you mentioned dealing with some health issues a while back—was that right? And did that setback essentially burn all your bridges with everyone you used to know?

Go on, give us a bit more of the story... how did you end up drifting into this kind of isolation? Where is your old high school crowd now? Did you even have much of a social circle back then, or have you been navigating this solitude for quite some time already?

Look, if everything worked as smoothly for me as it does for you, I wouldn't be in this mess, but hey, I'm glad someone's actually getting lucky here...

Man, my digestion has been a total mess lately... though honestly, I don't think it’s actually messing with my vibe too much on the outside.
Honestly, the signal is just so hit-or-miss everywhere I go that I don't even feel comfortable heading out anymore.

It all just kind of happened at once... everything hit me all at the same time.

Back in high school, our whole crew used to hang out constantly, but man, it was a slow fade... little by little, people just started dropping out of the circle until everyone eventually drifted off to their own separate corners. There were about ten of us left at the end of the day, all from the exact same class.

I mean, come on, surely out of that group you had at least ten people you actually managed to stay on good terms with? But honestly, it doesn't even matter...
The real question is, are you still hanging around the same city, or have you moved away for college somewhere?
If you aren't hitting the books, you might want to look into getting a job as a server; I can guarantee you'll meet plenty of people that way.

The guy is clearly struggling with depression, and your brilliant advice is to go work as a server? You might as well just hand him a bullet so he can get it over with right now... 🤣
Come on, mistyseal11, get over here. We'll kill the depression and the boredom together—problem solved.

He’s depressed specifically because he lacks actual friends, which is exactly why I’m advising him to find some, regardless of how irrational you think that advice might be.

But fine, go ahead... at least you’re offering to be his friend.😁 (Though that depends entirely on how much you actually mean it.)

If I recall correctly, the whole suicide attempt wasn't actually about ending things—it was more about getting some attention, right? So, did you actually pull that off, or did the whole thing just fail to achieve its true purpose?
And what happened, did they shut down the local Starbucks so you couldn't make it to coffee?

and p.s. you're pretty cute 🙂 😍 👍

reactions:

"idiot"
"don't care"
"wow, I definitely didn't see that coming from you"
and so on

Are you seriously just going to ignore me? I never said anything even remotely close to "idiot," "I didn't expect that from you," or "I don't care." :/

My answer is basically what I said before: yeah, I got the attention... but it was the depressing kind that just ends up weighing you down even more.

Nah, I don't have winter tires on and my car is too low to the ground to handle any snow.

Maybe, but—honestly, looking in the mirror yesterday I just felt totally disgusted with myself and that was the breaking point, I just snapped! That’s why I cut myself,

but my old man stopped me. It wasn't like I called 911 or anything...
he just offered me some Xanax to try and calm me down...

Are you talking about the attention from your father, or did someone else comment on that?
If it wasn't him, then let me ask a more pressing question: how did your dad actually react (aside from offering the Xanax), and what did he say to you?
Get rid of all the mirrors in the house 😁, just kidding. Look, I don't claim to know the core of your struggle, but based on a superficial glance at the situation, I can't quite wrap my head around such a drastic move. On paper, you have a roof over your head, and I assume you aren't facing some massive financial crisis either. From what I gather, you seem like a relatively successful college student with a decent sense of humor, which usually points toward a fairly high intelligence level (that’s just my experience, anyway). As for your physical appearance, I've already given my two cents. 😍 Mind you, those are entirely my own subjective impressions based mostly on online speculation; I could be completely off base. The only real issue you mentioned yourself was a lack of friends and a sense of connection. I deal with that too—it's been a struggle for a year or two now—but I personally don't see it as a big enough problem to justify taking such an extreme step. 🤷

How do you even react when you hear about some neighbor trying to hang themselves, only to be saved at the very last second? Or when you hear about a clerk at a gas station overdosing on pills, and thankfully someone noticed and rushed them to the ER?

Yesterday, while I was feeling totally high, it finally clicked.

It felt like everyone was just constantly breathing down my neck, telling me stuff like, "Don't do that"

"Don't touch this," or "Don't go there"

"That's just not how you act in public"

and all that noise...

But honestly? Nobody actually sat me down and showed me what the right way to behave even looks like... I don't even know how to put it into words.
.... And because of that, I've just been stuck in this total funk—I'm feeling super low, I can't even look people in the eye, I'm just frozen up constantly, and I can't find any way to chill out. Even when I'm out by myself, I'm just physically tense. I can't relax for anything.

The bottom line is—I feel like I have no clue how to react to basically 99% of what happens in life.

So, I suppose you now have quite the impressive collection of excuses for suicide. 🙂
It’s all a bit of a balancing act—you win some, you lose some, I suppose. 😍

It seems to be going exactly as expected...
Nobody really gave me any guidance on what counts as acceptable—or even decent—behavior in this situation...

No one can truly tell you what is right or what constitutes a good decision—not really. In most situations, I suppose you just have to figure it out for yourself. 🤷

I am not quite sure how to put this into words.
The whole situation has left me in a bit of a funk—my mood is consistently low, I can't seem to look people in the eye, and I feel somewhat petrified most of the time. I just can't find any way to unwind. Even when I'm out in public, I feel completely tense—stiff, really. I simply cannot relax.

Praxiteni, Normabell, Helex. 😉
I suppose I should probably mention that I’ve been thinking about the whole situation regarding the recent developments—though it feels somewhat premature to draw any definitive conclusions just yet. It is all a bit unsettled, I guess. Perhaps we will see more clarity soon, but for now, one can only wait and observe.

As for what I was trying to get at—I suppose I just don't know how to react in 99% of situations.

It seems nobody knows.
I suppose there isn't really such a thing as a "right" or "wrong" reaction in most situations—it’s all rather subjective, I guess. There aren't any absolute rules when things go sideways. 🤷
One learns as long as they live—or perhaps, until the day they die. I suppose it’s an endless cycle. 😁

Not quite... but you're getting incredibly close.

How many things can you actually do inside a car—without even not moving it an inch?

😁Just tell me what you've got in mind, and I'll give you a hard NO if you're heading down the wrong path.
