lonegardener said:You claim you aren't being aggressive, yet you wrote exactly what you did above. You know the saying, "actions speak louder than words." The tone of your post completely contradicts what you're claiming.

Did I ever actually say you needed to "change your views and character"? You asked why people were avoiding you, and I gave you an answer. Asked & answered. Are you trying to tell me you don't want me responding to you at all? Just say: "stop bothering me," and I'll quit immediately. 🤷

Look, I'm just saying that everyone else on this forum, and honestly most people in general, seem to get me wrong. These guys think I'm unhinged because I'll drop 14 posts in a row, and you think I'm being combative because of how I phrased things, which... isn't really the case. If my "aggression" is such a problem for you, maybe just don't talk to me. You can be like everyone else.🤷

Did I ever say your aggression bothered me? I simply asked for the reason behind it. 😁

And as for that "be like everyone else" bit... 😬 Hmm, you think I'm different from you? I won't deny how tempting it is to believe we're all "special individuals." Honestly, there's even songs about how we're all totally unique. Sometimes I enjoy thinking I'm one of a kind, too. But looking at it realistically, I think I'm more similar to people than I am different. Much like the massive crowd singing along to a song about being "totally unique"—everyone is doing it together. 😍

There's nothing quite like a concert where 10,000 people sing "we're all so unique" in unison. Which "others" are they actually talking about? LOL.

Anyway, there's this brilliant little meme about this exact thing:

'Always remember that you are unique. Just like everyone else.' 🤣

"You aren't some special, one-of-a-kind snowflake. Truth be told, we're all just the same decaying organic matter, eventually becoming part of the exact same compost pile."

Man, Brad Pitt is just ridiculously good-looking—he's got that smooth look, and honestly, he’s got an incredible physique too. 😬

Chris Cooper5, you seem like such a sweetheart to me, so I have to ask, what's actually bothering you? 🤷

Chris Cooper5, just how long have you been dealing with these kinds of issues?

I honestly think the root of all this is just how you view yourself. It’s fueling that fear of messing up and that constant, nagging feeling that everyone is judging your every move.

Can you get into psychotherapy through your insurance? Like, for free? You could try reaching out to the Mayo Clinic or maybe a private practice like Kaiser Permanente. Both usually require an appointment, so your best bet is to just call them or check in with your primary care doctor first.
Don't drop out of college. Once you're out of this depressive funk, you'll probably regret it because your whole perspective on reality is going to shift. You can always make a conscious, adult decision to quit later, but trying to crawl back in is a much harder climb. Just do what you can for now and find a therapist. That’s my two cents.

oh, I didn't realize I was being aggressive, so I wouldn't even know how to explain why I am.

As for that song about being 'totally different,' I mentioned in another post that everyone is unique in their own way. There will always be groups of people who mock individuals just because they don't understand them. That's what I'm talking about.

Go ahead and keep trying to prove to people how stupidly they think, since it clearly gives you such a kick. I just don't get why you're like this.

I'm pretty much done with psychiatrists. And I don't have the money for that kind of nonsense.

I said free.
There are psychologists out there, I just have no clue where you could find one free or even just cheap.

It’s a professional hazard. Let me break it down for you visually:

See that underlined wavy line? Also, take note of the red X on the left and that little red square on the right edge of the editor.

Well, that’s exactly what happens in my head whenever I spot a logical fallacy. For years, my first instinct whenever I see that red line is to fix it Amazon. 😍

oh shit, here I go again, acting like some emo kid cutting himself in a dark corner of a pink bedroom. I'm so special, right? 😢
And everyone else is always the problem ☕😢

I guess whatever's eating me is my own business, but... I don't know, I don't really have any friends.

Yeah, okay, but which logical error did I actually make?

It wasn't you. 😕

You asked "why am I like this," so I gave you an answer. I assumed you were asking about the concept in general, rather than just focusing on your specific situation.

(To be fair, I haven't scrolled through your entire profile—I'm sure you've made plenty of logical slips yourself. And I certainly have my own. 😍 )

No, it's not that. You're telling me that *I* think you're different from everyone else, and then you explain how you aren't actually special and are just like everyone else. It's like... I never even said you were different in the first place. I'm just a totally regular person.

Look, you really have to take everything written here with a massive grain of salt. For starters, I’m honestly skeptical about whether he’s even heading to that college; if he is, he’s been failing classes for years, and as for the whole thing with his friends, I just can't be too sure myself.🤷☕On a side note, I think you're actually pretty fun to talk to over on the psychology thread and the general chat, even if it feels like everyone else there is constantly picking on you.😂

Well, I am going to college, but I'm not really attending classes regularly. And honestly, I don't have a single friend there.

And honestly, I don't really care... even if I don't finish my degree, it's not like the world is going to end.☕

Have you considered the possibility that you might have misread the situation? 😉

Look, you even admitted that people constantly misinterpret you. Do you think it’s impossible that you might be doing the same—misinterpreting things yourself?

You wrote, "ignore me, just like everyone else." While it doesn't follow with mathematical certainty that you view yourself as "different," it certainly implies it. Human conversation isn't a logic puzzle where everything has to be stated with 100% precision. There are nuances, implications, and subtext at play here.

But let's move past that. So, you believe you're a completely normal person. If that's the case, what exactly is the issue? Why are you struggling with socializing when other "normal" people aren't? I assume you have some sort of initial theory on why that is.
