But looking at this situation, I wonder if things will change if the government pours that money into the auto industry. Just a month ago, General Motors and Chrysler were bailed out; $17 billion in aid arrived. If they don't get things moving by March 31st, they'll have to pay that loan back.🙂

Something tells me, even if I don't know the local specifics there, the service industry is being hit too. It makes sense when you consider how virtual players—specifically those massive financial institutions—overplay their hand and step back.
Fair point. This reminds me a bit of that German style of social management... I don't see any threat to private enterprise here.
To be blunt: this isn't socialism. You're just wishing for a miracle.
