Matthew Jackson49 said:I’m using a Chase Maestro card... what’s my daily cash withdrawal limit? Can I pull out everything in my account, or is there a cap on how much I can take out at once?
So far, I’ve withdrawn $1000 without any issues, but since I have a lot more in there now, I wanted to check the limits. I’m working this afternoon, so the branches will be closed by then—should I just head down to a local branch first thing in the morning instead?

There’s a daily limit. I think it's $1333.

I stopped by the bank to withdraw some cash and happened to ask the teller at the window what she thought about the situation. She told me $1667

Hey there.

I’m currently living in Germany and using my German checking account and debit card. Right now, I'm staying with some family over here in the States.

Does anyone know if I can use my German card to withdraw cash from an American ATM directly from my German account?

Also, what kind of fees am I looking at for something like this? What’s the typical commission for these transactions, and how does the exchange rate work when converting Euros to Dollars... which rate do they actually use?

Thanks a lot!

If you locate an ATM that accepts your Visa, it's doable. Fees and conversion rates will likely follow your bank's specific terms, though I can't say for certain.

On Thursday, I withdrew about $450 using my Visa while traveling abroad. No big deal, right? I did this about a hundred times without any issues. But when I checked my E*TRADE account the next day, all five transactions had cleared, along with a $12 fee... typical. 😁

I logged in again today only to find another transaction for the exact same amount, processed on that same day.. :🙂

Has anyone else dealt with something like this??? I called my bank in Washington, D.C. since I'm still out of town, and they said they’d look into it and get back to me...🙂

Can someone please make sense of this for me?
I was at an ATM and inserted my Visa, but just as I went to hit the first digit of my PIN, my dog suddenly lunged because he saw another dog passing by, and I ended up hitting the wrong button. In that split second of chaos, my immediate thought was to just mash two more random numbers so the machine would throw an "incorrect PIN" error, giving me a chance to start over with the right code.
However, to my absolute shock, the screen told me I could withdraw $33. 😲
It’s glaringly obvious that I somehow accessed someone else's account. 😲
I basically could have walked away with $33 from a total stranger. ☕
I finished the transaction, took my card, put it back in, entered my actual PIN, and withdrew my own money like nothing happened. 😲

My question is, in a situation like this, is it actually possible to trace who withdrew those funds?
Honestly, if there had been ten thousand dollars in that account, I probably would have done exactly what I did, though I realize most people wouldn't be so blunt about it. 🤷

On a separate note, I much prefer doing my withdrawals inside a Chase branch rather than dealing with an ATM anyway.

I don't know—it seems a little sketchy that you used your own Visa to access someone else's account. Not all cards are created up to the same standard, I guess. 🤷

The only thing that's obvious here is that you've got quite the imagination!
Don't sweat those other people's accounts, though—you aren't gonna pull a single cent out of them anyway... 😁

Can someone explain this?

About a year ago, right after I updated my PIN, there were a few times where I accidentally typed in the old one, and the system kept insisting the PIN was incorrect every single time.

Man, it’s pretty hard to say for sure what happened without being there—but one thing is for certain—if you put in the wrong PIN, you aren't getting any cash out of an ATM.

Anyway, whose ATM were you using?

Of course you can, at any ATM. But you'll probably save a few bucks if you hit up a Wells Fargo machine, since they're part of the JPMorgan Chase network over there.

So, here’s the deal—if you’re carrying a JPMorgan Chase debit card and you head over to Canada and manage to find a JPMorgan Chase ATM, you won't be hit with any extra transaction fees, though you'll still deal with that tiny little bit of a loss on the currency conversion, which is basically unavoidable when you're crossing borders. But, if you end up at some random ATM from a different bank while you're there, you're going to get hit twice: once for the conversion and again for an additional fee, but just remember that the specific amount of that fee is determined by the fee schedule of your own bank, JPMorgan Chase, rather than whatever local bank owns the machine you're standing in front of.

So, I've got a checking account at Wells Fargo, but my card is currently sitting at zero and I really need to order something online ASAP. Basically, if I head over to an ATM right now to make a cash deposit, will those funds show up in my balance immediately? Since I’ve never actually done a cash deposit at an ATM before, I'm also a little paranoid—is there a chance the machine just swallows my bill or jams up on me? I'm just worried about being left high and dry when it's time to check out...

Hey there.
I was wondering which ATMs in Chicago still dispense $17 bills?
You used to be able to pull fifty grand out of a Chase ATM, but lately that’s been impossible... $33 is the new minimum.
Any advice? It's a matter of bread and milk here!

Why not just head down to the grocery store and pick up some bread and milk directly with that card? 🤷

What kind of card are you even using? Any card that works in an ATM can be used at a POS terminal just fine.
