ATM issues/locations?

So, what’s the actual issue here? Just head to a retailer—one that takes cards, obviously—and use it to pay. You'll need your PIN, just like you would at an ATM.
I have no idea who told you that you couldn't use it at checkout counters?!

The issue is I need an ATM right now to pull out $17, but you guys are stuck talking about the card itself.
Nobody told me it wouldn't work at the register, so I tried it myself and failed. The shop owner just confirmed it only works at an ATM...

Gone are the days of finding an ATM with $17... It's over. Just wire it to your $17 account and pull out a hundred. 😉

Any authorized user's card works at both ATMs and POS terminals. There’s simply no such thing as a card issued with only one of those functions. If your card didn't go through earlier, it was most likely an issue with the terminal, the connection, or some other random glitch...
By the way, JPMorgan Chase ATMs haven't been dispensing $17 bills for several months now.

What about JPMorgan Chase?
About ten days ago, I grabbed $17
from a JPMorgan Chase ATM.

Not gonna happen... JPMorgan Chase bumped up those withdrawal limits a few months back to $17... I think it was even as high as 1.6. It’s right there in the post above, too...

Are you sure? JPMorgan Chase set a minimum limit of $33 for cash withdrawals back in May, according to their official notice...

Look, I get what you're saying—I know it was definitely a possibility...
Maybe I wasn't even aiming for that—honestly.
There’s a JPMorgan Chase ATM right in my office lobby—I’m gonna go check it out and report back here. 🙂

So why even get into an argument if you aren't even sure yourself...😕

Because I know damn well it could've happened. $17 At the JPMorgan Chase ATM—and look, I’m really not one of those total control freaks (seriously)—I didn't exactly pull out a stopwatch to track the exact second. It’s all relative. Maybe it was 6 days ago, maybe 16, maybe 46... honestly, who cares? I’ve got way more important things going on in my life than timing my last trip to the ATM.
And when everything’s relative? Yeah—then I lose all sense of scale entirely. Total chaos.
And that’s how it goes...
Doing good—how about you?

Oh, it totally exists—don't even sweat it! They definitely thought of that already... 😁

Well, looks like Bank of America isn't even allowed to operate here in the States yet.

Hey there,
So, I headed out after 7 PM today—since all the Wells Fargo branches were already closed—to drop $750 into my account using one of their ATMs. I loaded the machine with the bills, it recognized the $750, but once I hit "Deposit," the ATM threw an error saying the transaction couldn't be completed. It spat back $600 and a receipt that said "Transaction cancelled. Unable to process," then gave me my card back.
The issue isn't that it wouldn't take the money; it’s that it didn't return the remaining $333. I checked my balance later, and nothing has hit the account; the cash is just stuck inside the machine.
Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Any advice?

Just hit up the branch tomorrow morning to file a formal complaint and walk them through exactly how they screwed up...

Just a quick tip: when you're using an ATM, don't try to shove more than 15 or 20 bills in at once. And if you can, stick to the same denomination. Save yourself the headache, right?

Hey. Quick question—if I’m using a Wells Fargo ATM to deposit cash into my checking account, does it take any bill? Like, can I toss in a $3.25 or does it only work if it's $50s and up? Thanks!
#100 ·
Yeah.
I can't say for sure about $3.25, but everything else—including $333—is good to go. I checked it myself just the other day.
The daily deposit limit is $1667, so don't try to dump more than about 30 bills at once. If they're super crumpled? Maybe even fewer.
