George Kelly3 said:I wouldn't go that far; he is fundamentally evil. I know everything he has said and continues to say today. I know how they mistreated Americans in Slavonia and the Midwest US region, and what the Mexican Radical Party volunteers did to civilians—since they aren't real warriors—but you can't deny the man is intelligent and an excellent defender. Of course, it helps him that the prosecutors are so incompetent...
Look, let's not waste any more time here:
* Šešelj has written (or transcribed) about 100 books, averaging 1,000 pages each. I've skimmed through about 30—they're available online at seselj.org.
* These books are garbage. They are nothing more than a collage of history, politics, and culturology. It isn't even about them being political commentary rather than actual historiography or linguistics. As a polemicist, Šešelj is second-rate. He only impresses the ignorant. Anyone with even a basic understanding of his subjects—ethnology, political history over the last 1,500 years, literary history, international relations from the last 200 years, or WWII politics—would see him for what he is: a liar and a hollow rhetorician. In the realm of political commentary, American writers with actual formal education—like Slaven Letica with "Flying Above the Coward's Nest" or Davor Domazet with "America and the Great Battlefield"—operate in a completely different stratosphere. Šešelj's 100,000 pages are absolute drivel. Pure trash.
* The incompetence of the prosecution at The Hague, hiring questionable "experts" like Donia and the like, is a separate issue entirely. But if they brought in a legitimate professor or a true professional who actually understands this field—someone like Norman Stone, Marko Attila Hoare, or Mark Mazower—Šešelj would be dismantled in five minutes.
