What could a five-year-old possibly learn about sexual freedoms beyond just homosexuality? For heaven's sake, that child isn't even burdened by sex or sexual urges yet.

If I had to choose between my kid showing up at some pointless political rally or facing the hostility of a Pride parade, I’d pick the latter. I’d take the euphoria of being seen and smiled at because we share the same symbols—as long as they don't soak up all that aggressive, exclusionary political nonsense along the way.

I wouldn't act that way. Not because I despise sexual freedom or have some obsession with old-school symbols, but because it comes down to one thing: what kind of environment would make my kid feel most at home?

In my view, my child's welfare comes first. Even if that means bowing to the darker side of things.
