You know, I wish I were one of those people who just thinks: Life is trash, everything sucks, just let me deal with my own business.
It would be easier for them. But, yeah. I'm just not built that way.

So, just drop it.👍

You don't actually want to be different. It’s just nice to think you're special—that you aren't like everyone else, even if you have to suffer a bit to prove it.

Life is a mess; deal with it. We're all stuck in this same broken system, facing the same reality. Yet somehow, people still manage to find their own little distractions, pleasures, or reasons to actually get out of bed in the morning.

If you prefer living this way—fine. Go ahead. Be depressed, stay angry, and nurse your grudges. Just realize that this is your choice, not some inevitable result of your circumstances or any other external factor or whatever excuse weaklings use to justify themselves.

Two opposite extremes... I honestly can't tell which is worse. It feels like a psychological pathology on both sides.
Rebellion versus perfectionism—that constant craving for external glamour and status..
In my view, both are fundamentally unhealthy..
They should probably be avoided altogether..
There’s actually another dimension to this. I live in a different space entirely; I have no respect for the "drifters" or the "performers," because both represent an artificial state people force themselves into just to prove something. But to what end? They're just exposing their own vulnerability to the opinions of others and letting the noise of the world drown out their own lives, instead of focusing on creating their own happiness..
The drifters, living those messy, bohemian lifestyles, are just destroying themselves. To me, anyone who self-destructs is essentially weak. I don't have much patience for weakness or destructive behavior, especially since it seems to be a widespread human issue—we tend to sabotage ourselves through everything we do. We need to address these problems rather than just closing our eyes and pretending they aren't there. We caused things like global warming ourselves; now we just have to fix it. It’s much easier to play dumb and run away from reality, which is what most people do. Addiction is really just another way of escaping life..
It's the same with material addiction, where people feel the need to look perfect just to feel okay, mostly because they're empty inside. They're running from their problems. Even a big shopping spree or a trip to Mauritius acts like a drug—it temporarily masks the issues..
But honestly, it's all pretty foolish. It's such trivial nonsense that it might not even be worth writing about..
Humans were meant to pursue much higher goals and purposes, but it seems like we went off the rails right from the start, given how much of humanity has lost its way..

Love you guys, 😘

I’ll find a girlfriend and live a straight life. I'll finish school, get a job, and eventually take out a loan to buy a damn good big-screen TV and a car. Maybe even grab a plane ticket to Africa, though I've been there before.

So, that's your definition of happiness and being "normal"? Just a TV and a car? You think having those things instantly turns someone from an addict into a big-shot success story?
And if that's the case, how are you any different from the people you claim to despise? Based on this post, it seems like everything just comes down to the balance in your bank account...
It’s the same old story, just different packaging.
It really all comes down to how you perceive things. Most people out there are pretty much driven by consumerism and material stuff...
But that isn't what true fulfillment or actually enjoying life is about. Real enjoyment doesn't come from drugs or money.🙂

You’re just low-key trolling at this point, acting all curious about how people think... you're obsessed. You wouldn't be wasting this much time online if you actually had the focus to back up what you're saying. Look, honey, you aren't a junkie. A real addict would be a total mess by the weekend, and that's it. Junkies don't give a damn about anything except the fix. If you weren't such a hypocrite, you wouldn't be sitting there using a computer—the most popular product of modern civilization. Oh, and you've got a smartphone too, right? Something smells fishy here...

I get the feeling you actually mean that..
Even if it was just sarcasm, the idea that all this stuff fascinates you seems a bit questionable..
Since we don't really know much about you beyond what you've posted here—which might just be an illusion—I can't really dive deep into what's actually going on with you..
Anyway, if you really are using something—first off, you have to get clean... don't worry, I'm not some kind of straight-edge fanatic; I think it's fine occasionally, provided it's something light, the vibe is right, and it stays within reasonable, occasional limits...
I know plenty of people who got hooked during certain phases of their lives. I'll just say one thing: as many dimensions as drugs might open up, they also dull you, numb you, and slowly eat away at you until you're destroyed..
I haven't read through the whole thread, so I'm not sure what specifically you're on?
And you have to do this for yourself and your own future, not for anyone else (most people feel like they have to do it for their parents, their peers, a partner, etc.)...
But I probably shouldn't push the discussion further since there isn't much concrete to latch onto..
And please, stop exhausting yourself by worrying about trivial things like what other people think. Most people are a mess, but you should just find a few people similar to you who you care about and live for yourself and them. I'm not sure, do you have a girlfriend?
You also need to have goals in life... but maybe something more meaningful? Just chasing material success feels empty. That stuff tends to come naturally, and it won't make you happy. You're happy if you're satisfied with yourself and if you meet the standards you've set for yourself. Have you? Are you satisfied and happy with your life?
That's where you have to start...🙂

It’s like I’m at a crossroads where I'm forced to pick a direction. I’m standing right in the center, looking out at a thousand different paths, but none of them look clear or perfect enough to say, "This is me, this is my journey, I'll walk it and be happy."
Actually, I really only see two options. One is one of those thousand paths, and the other is death. Not literal suicide, but death in the sense of becoming an extreme R&B fanatic—someone who just goes all in. In the end, I’d die as a nobody, just a speck of dust in this world, leaving no legacy behind—which is probably for the best, since I wouldn't want to pass on my genes to more broken people. I’d probably just host my own funeral, as I mentioned before. 😬 And yeah, everyone would be invited, and entry and drinks would be free.
I’m currently in my third year of a business management degree, which is just one of those thousand possible paths where I can already see the inevitable finish line. It’s just daily grinding, struggling, fighting, and bullshit... followed by death again. Only this time, I could say: "Well, I was a model citizen; I fulfilled my duty, a duty imposed by a bunch of mindless drones who run most of this world."

What is the essence of our existence? It's that we are everything, yet we have no freedom. Our whole lives revolve around "what will people think" or "did I fit in?" Well, I did! Yay, now I'm happy and accepted. All while never asking, "Where exactly did I fit in, and what kind of place is this world if I'm considered a perfect citizen within it?"
And who am I actually, deep down, if I’ve perfectly conformed to modern society? That question is buried at the absolute bottom, when it really should be number one.
To me, the distinction between East and West is clear. We live in the West, but I personally love to "provoke" Western thought with Eastern perspectives. Because in the East, that core question actually comes first.
Those folks from Al-Qaeda aren't stupid; they aren't stupid, and they deserve to be heard.

As for drug addiction and addicts, I notice you all have your stereotypes. Maybe you're right, but I don't belong to that group. I simply don't take this life too seriously. 👍

There are actually three paths: one you have to take just so you can eventually get to the other one—the one you actually *want* to walk (assuming
you've even found it yet, which I haven't—and honestly, looks like you haven't either—so I'm stuck with the "must-do" path), and then there's always time for that
"third" one.

I realized pretty early on that I wasn't like everyone else. Even back before school started, I felt it. As I grew up and really started seeing how the world works, those gaps between me and everyone else just kept getting wider.
For a long time, I looked for an escape from this messed-up life where I felt like the freak and everyone else was perfectly "normal." I turned to drugs and alcohol because, in that haze, the things that usually drove me crazy didn't seem to matter as much. But eventually, I hit a wall. I realized I was only punishing myself; nobody else actually cares enough for their opinions to hurt me. So, I shifted gears. I decided that being proactive is the best defense. I leaned into irony, sarcasm, and a healthy dose of cynicism. Now, I just focus on my own path and enjoy the ride. Honestly, I couldn't care less about people staring at me when I'm out walking... they're right there, yet they act like I'm invisible. They aren't going to ruin my fun! Not with all those hypocritical, narrow-minded people stuck in their little clichés.🙂 🙂

I spent years looking for an exit from this messed up life where I was the freak and everyone else was "normal." I looked for it in booze and pills because when I was faded, I could finally ignore all the stuff that usually drives me insane. But then I hit rock bottom and realized I was just punishing myself... nobody else gives a damn about me anyway. So, I figured out that being aggressive is the best way to defend yourself. I leaned into being ironic, sarcastic, and cynical... now I just focus on my own path and have a blast. Honestly? I don't give a damn about people staring at me when I'm out walking down the street... they're right there, but it's like they aren't even there. They sure as hell aren't gonna ruin my fun!!!!!!!! You haven't answered yet—are you seeing anyone right now (doesn't matter if it's a girl or a guy)? How do you feel about love in general?

I'm single. I get that having a partner would make things easier, but that’s not really my goal. Though, I'll admit, it gets lonely sleeping by myself sometimes.
I had a whole group of buddies who were in the same boat, always into hip-hop and front-row vibes. They used to trash everything and everyone, but then they met girls and just... settled down. Honestly, which is sadder?

Just checking in... I wanted to say that I’m standing right behind you (Noah Sanchez7 and scarm) in all that resentment and the drive for change. Honestly, if it weren't for people like you, the world would just stay stuck in a permanent state of stagnation indefinitely...

I consider myself a rebel, though perhaps an unspoken one. Life has a way of squeezing the protest out of you, teaching you when to just shut up and take it... but don't mistake my silence for compliance. I am not a "go with the flow" type of person. Never.
I can't speak for everyone else, but as I get older, I've found I simply stopped giving a damn about certain things. It's funny—there was a time when I genuinely despised certain types of people (specifically those who are perfectly content with the status quo and have zero desire to shake things up). I wouldn't have even given them the time of day back then. But now? Now, I'm indifferent. Let them wallow in their own ignorance. My focus is elsewhere: I'm looking for something better, something larger, something different... CHANGE...

Anyway, I've had a few drinks, so excuse the sudden philosophical rambling, haha...

Cheers.🙂

Here are some poignant reflections from Leszek Kołakowski:

"The question of life's meaning is never asked
by those who feel an inherent need to change it;
instead, that question is avoided by all
who have found their purpose simply by maintaining the status quo."

Quite profound, wouldn't you agree?

Cheers,🙂 heading outside now.

Well, there you have it...😬
I guess once you get into something serious and a lady helps settle all those doubts, everything just falls into place. Don't worry too much about it.
Love is something else entirely.
Right now, maybe things feel aimless and boring, and you're just wondering what to do with yourself because everything feels a bit pointless. But when you truly fall in love and find a real relationship, you won't even think about random people from the past. You'll mostly just be thinking about how to settle down and how to enjoy life with her, making things better for both of you, which is honestly the best feeling.
When you live with someone you've really bonded with and just click with, it changes your whole perspective. It shifts your goals and the way you look at everything.🙂
