Well, I guess we're heading to the beach then...😉

It’s my first time posting here, but since my turn has finally come up, I could really use some pointers from you guys...
I've got a huge party coming up this October in San Francisco, and honestly, I’m starting from scratch!! We’re looking at about 300 guests... so if anyone could lend a hand, I'd be so grateful...
Can anyone hook me up with some contact info for local bands, venues, or photographers?? Thanks...

Check this out—it's got plenty of numbers for music, photography, and venues too 😉

Hey, does anyone happen to have the scoop on this Sun restaurant?

If anyone tries to mess with things—well, I know exactly where one of those guys lives, so he'll get his 🙂 🙂

Nicholas Brown84 said:So, what does a cake like that actually run them? I was thinking about asking if they could recreate Times Square for me, though I have no clue if they even do stuff like that...
And how did you pull off the whole dessert situation—having your family bake everything? Do they actually need some kind of official certification or something? How many of their pastries did you end up grabbing, and what's the damage on the price tag? Thanks!🙂

Good grief, my eyes nearly popped out of my head $400(that cake was a massive 4 feet tall)🙂
As far as I recall from the catalog, they don't have the Plaza design listed, but you could always give them a call and ask
if they can do a custom order for you.
When I checked with the venue manager (we held it over at St. Anthony's😍), he gave me the green light to bring in homemade food without any hassle whatsoever.
Their pricing is roughly $12 per pound (which is incredibly affordable, honestly...🙂). I only picked up a few pounds of peaches for the decor, since I knew I'd already prepared about 100 pounds of homemade desserts myself.
That said, I've had their pastries at Muset's before, and they truly are wonderful...

Hey!
I'm thinking about grabbing some of those cookies for a sailing trip, so I wanted to see if you knew if they actually carry them?
And where are they even located?

I’ve spent so much time lurking through these threads before, just soaking up all the advice for a friend back when she was planning her wedding🙄. But now—well, it’s finally my turn😲. 😍 I mean, I still have about 10 months to go, but you can never be too early when it comes to getting your ducks in a row, right?
I wanted to ask—has anyone here actually seen the band Bomb live at a reception??
I’ve listened to their tracks probably ten thousand times already, but I’ve never actually caught them performing at a party...

If you hire Bomb, you're golden. silentpuma28's guys killed it at their wedding! 👍

Your bride is gonna be telling you the exact same thing the next morning. 😍

Honestly, I feel a little better now🙂—everyone else was tied up, and then apparently someone on their end had to call out, so I just kind of drifted off into a nap... 😁

suuuuuuuupeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr 🙂🙂🙂

Just kidding—the music and the photographer are all set... but now I'm totally lost when it comes to the wedding dress... am I cutting it too close if I wait until 4 months out to go shopping? Or should I be rushing to find something way sooner? 🙄

Which venue and photographer did you pick? 🙂

Honestly, the best time to hunt for a dress is during Korizma, because shops usually have their full inventory in stock then, so you get way more options to choose from...

The venue was the Maestral (all the other spots were already booked up 🙄), and while it's nothing mind-blowing, I've heard some really good things about it... plus, once I get in there and do the decorating 🤣🤣😁
I've actually never been to a party there myself, so if anyone has been—please, give me the tea! Any comments... any critiques...

As for the photographer—Photo Mark—I am obsessed with their shots, they're just so good

I was just at a wedding there this past October; a friend of mine was tying the knot, and F. Mark (Zvoniti and John) were shooting it.

Look, a hall is a hall, and it’s not bad... though for this specific wedding, the setup wasn't anything special... but honestly, you can do a lot with that space if you try.

The food was decent, and the servers were super helpful... I hadn't been to a party there before and had heard all sorts of rumors, but in the end, it turned out pretty good.😁

Can you even believe me? Honestly, the jokes are the least of my worries😁 once everyone's had a few drinks, everything's fine🙂 I actually talked to the owner and told them I'd handle the decor myself...😉 since they clearly don't have an eye for it, I'll make sure everything looks gorgeous...😉

The band and the crew are what really matter... because if the vibe is off, it doesn't matter who's playing, nobody's gonna have a good time.
I was at this party once where the band was killer, but everyone just sat there... maybe ten people were actually dancing or trying to get the rest of the crowd to move even an inch, and eventually, even they gave up.

Half the guests bailed by 1:00 AM... just seeing that nobody was feeling it.

That venue is a total gem... and honestly, it could look absolutely stunning with the right decor.👍

@rapidmason10 I see you've got a party going on over in Bellevue... just a heads up, tell them not to turn the music down at 3 AM... I've seen it happen before where people start complaining 🙄... since they have apartments there too, they tend to sneakily lower the volume so they don't wake up the guests 🙄 personally, I really like setting those house rules right at the start—I'd tell them straight up if they try anything, they aren't getting paid... then they don't have any issues 👍
