Is there any kind of video out there about her—maybe an interview or something similar?

I don't get why they even invited her on TV in the first place. She’s still "off," you know? The way she defends him and doesn't seem to see it as a tragedy anymore... honestly, it feels pretty messed up. Now that her whole story has been blasted out there and the entire country knows who she is, how is she ever supposed to have a normal life again? And that comment about her mental state—saying they didn't show her hair so she could change her identity... man, I guess nobody's actually going to buy that! 🙄

What do you all think about the phrase "scarf as a symbol of protection"? Honestly, give me a break.

Here is an excerpt from the Los Angeles Times:
– Natasha has proven herself to be a young, incredibly resilient individual with empathy for everyone, including her kidnapper – says R. Smith – She has become a symbol of the moral complexity occurring in the world. Her eyes reveal just how sensitive she is. They also show that she will continue to pursue spiritual matters. Purple is the color of intuition, purification, insight, and healing. .... ...
I view the scarf, which completely covers her hair, as a form of protection—either from what happened to her or from the media and everything she's facing now. It likely provides her with a sense of security. ...
And the lip gloss shows that Natascha is someone who is ready to move forward very quickly. If stylists suggested her outfits, she was still the one deciding what to wear or not. Nothing would happen without her consent – concludes designer Smith.

Are you kidding me? 😲
I found this a bit much. It feels like just more proof that they want to turn Natasha into a manufactured narrative—a way to package her for the public.

Where is the real Natasha Kampusch?

As I keep reading, the Los Angeles Times actually invited her to vacation in San Francisco. They reached out to her expert team, expressing hope that Natasha will choose America as her holiday destination. As if she'd find any peace there.😳

Maybe I'll just head down to San Francisco and check in on her to see how she's doing...

The real question isn't where she is, but who N. K. really is deep down.
The media basically has a cash cow on their hands now—one that readers, always hungry for a bit of drama, have become incredibly attached to. Right now, she’s essentially just a highly profitable product for the news outlets. As for her true self? Honestly, I think only her therapist knows the real story.

Pikolina said:I find it strange how pampered she seems. Her nails are perfect. She doesn't even look malnourished. How could she gain so much weight in just a few days if they started feeding her now? And she still refuses to see her parents, choosing only to speak via phone. Maybe she ran away when they were fighting. If she wasn't with that guy voluntarily, it's weird how healthy and composed she acts.
In the interview, she dropped details she couldn't possibly have known—like that bit about women in some Mexican desert. Who knows anything about that besides her? She clearly memorized a script, and those occasional stammers were just her trying to remember her lines. Nothing more. As for her hands—any normal person gets nervous in front of a camera.
The whole thing feels staged to me.

Clearly we watched different interviews.
Her nails being "perfect"???!!!!
The girl only weighs 92 pounds!

Comments like this make my skin crawl.👎

A girl who grew up, went through puberty, and navigated every stage of adolescence locked in a tiny room under some maniac's watch—she can't be "normal." Honestly, no sane person would step in front of cameras and start talking about it this quickly.
So, the whole thing feels like a scripted Hollywood production to me—the only thing that doesn't fit is why she didn't escape sooner (unless she was physically restrained), but we don't have those details.

I wouldn't be surprised if this was all just a shady deal between her and that guy—maybe things just went south and he either took his own life or... was taken out?
I mean, there's serious money involved here; who's to say someone didn't pull him off the board for the cash?

And if she was able to follow world events—you know, stay informed—then she definitely knew exactly how much of a sensation she could cause by resurfacing right at 18, which is when she finally gets full control over her own money.

Plus, she's hiding her hair and avoiding any contact with her parents... hmm... who's to say it's even HER in the first place?!
😬
Sure, they have fingerprints and whatever, but still—I wouldn't bet my life that the girl hasn't calculated every single move.

Today's headline in the Los Angeles Times screams about some "sensational twist." Apparently, Natasha actually opened the door to her "dungeon" once and almost made a break for it, but—get this—she got dizzy and just went right back inside. Meanwhile, that "monster" Piklopil didn't even flinch.

For those of you who swallowed that first batch of journalistic nonsense whole, don't forget one thing: Natasha has a media consultant on her side. It looks like the goal is to milk this "horror" story for every cent it's worth (and let's be honest, the bigger the horror, the bigger the paycheck). Even Natasha's own father has called foul, accusing the camp of manipulation and claiming she’s basically under a new kind of house arrest.

That poor father seems to be the only sane person left in this entire mess. They won't even let him talk to his daughter on his own terms. It’s pretty obvious why they're scared; they're terrified he might actually ask her, "Tell me, honey, what really happened?"

Walter Myers4 said:It’s also worth noting that her parents split up when she was just seven.
From that point on, she likely lacked any kind of steady male figure to anchor her during those formative years. On top of that, she was dealing with the daily volatility of an unstable mother.
In a situation like that, it's almost predictable that a young girl would develop unpredictable feelings toward any older man who managed to step into her life.

Spot on. 👍

For everyone who swallowed that first media spin, don't forget Natasha has a media consultant on her side. It looks like the more "horror" they make it, the bigger the payday (because let’s face it, more drama = more cash), right? Even Natasha's own father has called out the manipulation, claiming she’s basically just moved into a new kind of captivity.

You can't just sit there from your comfortable, rational, adult, "I know everything" perspective and question why she didn't do *this* or *that* as if it proves the whole thing is a lie.
It feels like the "problem" is simply that she wasn't physically or mentally abused. If that were the case, she'd be a victim "by definition" and nobody would have any doubts.
Nobody is saying he was mean to her. Not at all. Like a few people already pointed out, who knows how that relationship evolved over time or what was going on in her head? It was the mind of a child growing up and processing things based on the situation she was stuck in.
If we wanted to go to extremes, maybe we could say she was better off with him than at home, but calling the whole thing a well-crafted act is a bit much.

But what I really can't stand—and I'm with you on this—is all this media circus. Why the hell are they doing interviews with a child victim? She should probably just be allowed to heal and start a normal life, then maybe down the road, when things have settled, she can talk about it away from the spotlight.

If you ask me, her entire narrative up to this point has been a lie—though that doesn't necessarily mean every single little detail isn't accurate. To my eyes, the whole story feels like a calculated effort to inflate Piklopil's role while simultaneously downplaying her own involvement in the whole mess. I don't think we're getting the truth here, and frankly, I doubt we ever will.

She's basically just holding onto all her best cards until she releases that memoir, "how to truly be..."

I'm right there with you on everything you've said so far.
Is it possible there's actually a political group of pedophiles pulling the strings behind this whole story? ( 😕 👎 )
Maybe the narrative is being carefully crafted this way: a healthy, vibrant girl who wants to be an actress...
Someone who wants to "help victims"... essentially trying to frame pedophilia as something that doesn't destroy lives physically or emotionally, so it can eventually be legalized and normalized.
This is just the first one of its kind. There will be more...

ANUŠKA said:I watched an interview tonight with that girl who was held captive for eight years by that psycho, and I honestly couldn't believe how confident, rational, and composed she appeared. I expected to see someone broken and terrified, but instead, there she was, just holding her own. I was genuinely fascinated. As for the kidnapper? I'd love to give him a piece of my mind. What do you all think?

I didn't have the energy to slog through all six pages of comments, so maybe someone has already pointed this out...

Look, if you were just glancing at the interview while multitasking, you probably saw a self-assured, intelligent young woman who was simply waiting for her moment to escape.

But if you actually watched closely—really watched—you would have seen the body language of a traumatized and deeply frightened girl. She likely only managed to pull herself together enough for the interview with significant help from a psychiatrist (and even then, it’s questionable, given how many "cuts" there are in the footage). They probably told her this was the best way to process the trauma, convincing her she’s back in control and that she remained "herself" the entire time she was captive. To be fair, that’s somewhat true—both the captor and his victim become prisoners of the same system—but that is essentially the only hand psychiatrists can play after eight years of trauma...

I am relieved she escaped, and that’s a "happy beginning," but a "happy ending" is a long way off, if it even exists at all...

Stay strong, Natascha!👍

I generally agree with your assessment.

And I'm not sure who mentioned it... but I'm also curious about the news reports from '98.

It felt a bit off when she finally broke free from that cell; she reportedly ran up to a woman and asked, "Do you have any newspapers from 1998? I'm Natasha Kampusch!"
wtf? Who says something like that after eight years in captivity? It sounds incredibly staged to me.

Suppose I had moved into that neighborhood right after she disappeared. If some girl knocked on my door one day and asked, "Are you Natasha or Dorica? Do you happen to have any newspapers from the 19th?" my immediate reaction would honestly just be, "Okay, and?" I’d probably just stare at her, completely bewildered, wondering what on earth she wanted from me.

I suppose the reality is that she was the center of her own universe for the last eight years (though, let's be honest, who isn't their own center of the universe?😉), but she was also the entire world to her kidnapper. When you look at it from that perspective, it actually makes sense why being thrust into the global spotlight feels so overwhelming for her now.

I hope that didn't come out too jumbled.

Ultimately, I feel like we should just leave her alone instead of turning her life into this massive spectacle like people are doing here. Every time I see her face in the news, my first thought is just, "Oh, goodness... please, just give her some peace."😠

See, people? Even Rebecca Cox2 has abandoned her skepticism.
The girl is completely shell-shocked, which is perfectly normal considering what she endured.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone tries to claim she orchestrated her own escape, or better yet, that she was the one who took him! It's absurd.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if that Piklopil movie features eight orangutans terrorizing poor Natasha for 23 days straight, leaving her with nothing to eat but whatever banana scraps those primates leave behind. And frankly, I wouldn't be shocked if you actually enjoyed watching it.

I don't wanna type everything out from scratch again, so here's basically my post from when I saw this on TV

brisknomad6 said:I'm late

So, I was watching the interview and the first thing that just totally jumped out at me was like

My God, you guys, she is acting completely like a submissive person

The way she looks, her posture, even how she holds her hands... she acts like a brainwashed slave

It felt like during the whole interview she was being led by whoever was the most dominant person in the room right then, which was clearly that guy sitting on the reporter's right side...
