Steven Hall78 said:Hey there,
I was wondering if any of you have had a wedding at Laura's venue over in Savannah? Does anyone happen to know what they're charging per guest these days?
Thanks πŸ™‚

I actually have some info on that... though it really depends on how many people you invite. We checked for a crowd of 450, and it came out to $53 per person (that doesn't include the cocktails or appetizers). If you go with a massive group of up to 700, it's about $43 per person, or roughly $135β€”so just do the math from there. I think one girl mentioned they were quoted somewhere around $62 for a group of 250 to 300.

Just renting the hall for 450 people goes for $17,500, plus the lunch the next day $500.

Is that the spot located between the attraction and the island? I haven't had the chance to visit myself, so I can't say for certain, but I have heard from several different sources that the owner isn't particularly reputable lately. Apparently, they have been pushing much smaller portions, so it might not be worth just getting the salad alone.

Baz is really making a mess of things over in Privlaka Salo.πŸ™‚

That’s just one of those little traps right at the entrance to Venice... I wouldn't bother. A friend of mine from Venice mentioned the owner is pretty difficult to deal with and they barely have any work going on there. It was honestly just a headache.

Hey everyone! I was hoping those of you living in San Bernardino or nearby could help me out with wedding venue ideas.
I’ve managed to put together a little list so far: Patricia in Liberty, MO, Oak Grove, a Midwest restaurant, the MatičeviΔ‡ Center, Grape Restaurant, Brod Restaurant, Signum Restaurant, Eco Garden, and Barun.

Most of these seem more like restaurants, though, and what I’m really hunting for is a dedicated banquet hall that can comfortably fit about 350 guests. If you know of any other spots that aren't on my list, please let me know!
Thanks so much πŸ™‚

Maybe just be a little more firm? Just tell them you expect everything to go smoothly without any awkwardness, and leave it at that. You signed the contract, after allβ€”you know exactly what you're getting!

Oak Grove is going to be wild! I’m heading there in May for a wedding, and we’re expecting about 300 people!

I thought this might be helpful for some of you, as there hasn't been much advertising for it lately.
There is a wedding expo taking place in Indianapolis on April 5th and 6th at the Barun Trenk Hall. The exhibitors will be available from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM.

I was actually just about to ask about that... does anyone happen to know how big it is, or who might be exhibiting there?

I am not entirely sure, but I know my carnation is finally blooming. Hopefully, they managed to secure enough exhibitors when they organized this event. Since it is quite close to where I live, I plan on taking a stroll through there, likely this Saturday. I will be sure to write up my impressions later that evening.

We ended up booking it too, and since some of our close friends held their wedding reception there just a few months back, I suppose you could say they had nothing but praise for both the salad and the service. So, I guess there isn't much to worry about.

Here are a few quick impressions from the bridal expo in Indianapolis....
It really depends on what you are looking for, but if you don't mind the drive, it might be worth a visit. There wasn't a single hair stylist present. As far as sweets go, they only had Boso and Vigus. Jewelry was a bit of a non-starter, too. For beauty products, there was Avon and some cosmetics brandsβ€”I think one was from Glagoljaska Street, though the name escapes meβ€”but honestly, I didn't even notice them. I did see some lace vendors offering 20-30% discounts, provided you pay by April 11th.
Regarding wedding dresses, there was only one booth, and just one girl in a gown handing out flyers for a local salon.
There were several booths featuring invitations and thank-you notes, which was quite unique since they were bundled with other offers.
The floral selection was extensive; I specifically remember seeing Camellia, freesias, and Iris. I didn't look too closely at the flowers since my floral arrangements are already finalized.
Photographers were also represented, including two professionals from El Paso (one was Sunce, and I can't recall the second name), along with Foto Medo, Krizmanic, Bota, Kelbas, and Click.

I was there too... the Apple booth from Des Moines totally blew me away!
I found some wedding bands at the jeweler that had our initials engraved on the outside, and they look so cool. πŸ™‚
Too bad they ran out of those pastries. :-/

Chris Morgan, which florist are you using?

Camellia πŸ™‚
I am not sure if you have seen her selection yet, but she offers wedding invitations at very reasonable prices. I inquired about two different options: one was $5.50 and the other was $4.50. Both prices include the envelope and printing, and most styles allow you to select your preferred color.
She also provides rentals for items such as chafing dishes, mirrors, canopies, bar stools, and candelabras.

Oh man, I am absolutely loving this... her space was just stunning.
I didn't grill her too much, but she did mention they handle all the logistics and delivery.
Do you think the pricing is reasonable?
I've been looking closely at both her and Iris.
Personally, I’m really leaning toward doing draped ceilingsβ€”it’s such a huge plus that they offer that. I don't actually need invitations, though, since my bridesmaids have their own printing business and are taking care of that part. πŸ™‚
We actually connected on Facebook, so now I'm diving into all her photos to grab some inspiration! πŸ™‚
