Thanks for the reply! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a great hair stylist who specializes in coloring and highlights? I'm looking for someone in the Indianapolis area.

Itโs actually pretty refreshing to see some people who can be self-critical! ๐

A friend of mine went to a salon for her prom hair, and honestly, I wasn't a fan. It ended up looking like wet curls, and they practically used three entire bottles of hairspray just on her
The style itself gets quite a bit of praise (I think I have the name right, itโs that spot near the big cathedral, right across from Charlie's), but my friend arrived with a photo of a braid and the stylist just stared at it, completely stumped. In the end, my friend actually had to explain how to do it herself.

Iโm honestly in the same boatโstaring at my reflection wondering where the hell I should go to get my hair fixed. ๐คท

Honestly, the absolute best hair stylists are the ones who actually *get* you and how your hair behaves. Sure, every few years some trendy new boutique salon pops up in town, but at the end of the day, those regular stylists you see all the time? Theyโre the real deal. They know your hair's quirks inside and out, and since they see you so often, they basically know exactly what look you're craving before you even say it.
If you absolutely have to go to a "new" stylist for a wedding, though, you seriously need to schedule a trial run first. Just to be safe!

I haven't seen much being said about this here lately, or maybe I just missed it, but Iโm curiousโfor those of you getting married in a church, how did you handle the music situation? Did you go with someone well-known in the community or just someone from within your own congregation? Weโre kind of hitting a wall with our planning right now, so Iโm trying to figure out what our actual options are. We were supposed to have this all squared away by now, but honestly, the whole thing just fell through at the last minute.๐ Help!

Usually, the priest just calls over a girl who plays the organ at the parish to handle the wedding. Honestly, it just depends on which church you're dealing with.

When it comes to music, Iโve gotta give a shout-out to the General Electric band from Indianapolis. Mario, their vocalist, is seriously awesomeโheโs such a natural entertainer and doesn't feel forced at all ๐
I actually caught them playing at a wedding recently, and let me tell you, nobody was just sitting ๐

Yeah, that's true, but the issue is that isn't how things work in our neck of the woods, so... yeah, figure it out, buddy. But look, things are shifting slightly. We'll eventually end up with three different options, so we'll probably find some way to make it work. We honestly thought this wouldn't be an issue, but then suddenly ๐

I noticed they were renting out high-top tables over at Vigor the other day... I know people have been asking about them, so just putting it out there for anyone interested! ๐

Hey everyone!
Iโm looking into the Perdue banquet hall over in Des Moines. I really dig the vibe there and think it could work perfectly for my guest count.
Does anyone have the inside scoop on their menu? I need to know what kind of food spreads they actually offer. I'm planning a wedding for next year, so I'm trying to get ahead of things.
Thanks in advance.๐๐๐๐๐๐๐

Weโre heading out there on May 17th to visit a friend of my mother's, so I'll follow up with you then. From what I've gathered, though, everyone seems absolutely thrilled with everything. My godmother actually attended a few weddings there herself, and her feedback was nothing but glowing. When we were originally scouting venues for a wedding in the Midwest, that specific hall was really the only one that caught our eye, both because of its locationโthe groom is from a small town near Chicagoโand its overall aesthetic. ๐I suspect someone from the Midwest might have a better handle on the local vibe, but all I know is that their calendar is filling up fast. If you're seriously considering booking them, you might want to move quickly. ๐

That works for me..
My partner and I absolutely love it. I'm originally from the Midwest but I live in Washington, D.C. now, so we're planning to have the wedding back in the Midwest. Itโs way more affordable than doing anything here in D.C....

We once operated under the same assumptionโthat moving back to the Midwest would be the more cost-effective move. Iโm originally from Washington, D.C., heโs from Nashville, and we currently find ourselves living in Vienna. However, once we actually sat down and put the numbers on paper, we realized how mistaken we were. The primary culprit? Our social circle. We constantly host guests traveling from all over the mapโWashington, D.C., Orlando, Nashville, Seattle, plus plenty of folks visiting from Austria, Canada, Germany, and the Czech Republic. When you factor that in, the math simply doesn't hold up. ๐คฃ Honestly, given how much they were charging for accommodations, we figured it was just more practical to host the wedding in Washington, D.C. instead. Why deal with those inflated prices? ๐ฒ
