Mine is an Apple too...๐Ÿ˜

Since we're on the subject, I really ought to make the trip out to see her soon to hammer out the specifics of the renovation... only about three and a half months left.๐Ÿ˜

Thatโ€™s awesome! Do you happen to know if they offer round tables?

Does she have a website or a page where I can check out some of her work?

She has a Facebook page, so I imagine finding it should be quite straightforward. I am just unsure if posting direct links is permitted here.

Question for anyone who DIY-ed their own wedding invites ๐Ÿ™‚

I'm getting pretty close to just making my own wedding invitations, so I was wondering... which bookstore in Columbus has the best selection of cardstock? Also, where did you guys end up getting them printed??

So, we headed over to the bookstore on El Paso Streetโ€”itโ€™s right by where The New York Times office is, just across from the deli, near the intersection with Istri Street. Theyโ€™ve got those huge colored cardstock displays there. Honestly, though, you wouldn't be able to pin down exact printing costs just from looking at them. Back when we were living in White, we used to handle all our printing stuff through his parents' connections. Anyway, the crew at Magic Team does solid workโ€”really high qualityโ€”so you should probably go poke around and ask them. I can't give you a specific number because everything depends on what you're dreaming up, how many you need, and all that jazz. One tip: when you pick a print shop, ask if they do custom paper tinting. That's how we managed to get that exact shade we were hunting for. ๐Ÿ˜‰I'm telling you, it all comes down to what you actually want and how complicated you're making these invitations.

Jessica Jackson13, thanks for the reply!
I know exactly which bookstore you meanโ€”I used to live right near there back when I was in college.
The invitations aren't actually that hard to make, which is why I decided to just DIY them.
Itโ€™s just a single-sided, square black-and-white invite and an envelope.
After spending way too much time scrolling through endless websites and different invitation styles, we finally settled on what we wanted from the start: total minimalism. ๐Ÿ™‚

Something like this... the ribbon will be White and have a bit of a unique twist, kind of like the link below. The envelope will be White, and inside there'll be some kind of patterned background. Honestly, with YouTube, I think I can pull it off... hopefully. ๐Ÿคฃ

Iโ€™m with youโ€”don't overthink it. Simplicity is always more elegant anyway. Personally, Iโ€™m leaning toward this cream-colored coffee shade. Black and white looks formal, sure, but it feels a little too much like an obituary notice ๐Ÿคท . Anyway, I have zero doubt your invitations are going to look great ๐Ÿ˜ . Ours were basically just the American version since we had to send some out overseas too: https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...a3252356835e4c

Your invitation looks lovely, and honestly, so do you ๐Ÿ˜

It feels a bit too much like an obituary, though maybe ๐Ÿคฃ
Mainly because of that black bow. I think Iโ€™ll go with a white ribbon and a clasp instead... might look better. I do think black and white is pretty elegant, though.

Yeah, this is way better. Just a heads-up thoughโ€”watch out with those extra little additions like the one in this photo where thereโ€™s a "ring" attached to the ribbon. If you start adding stuff like that, you might end up getting zapped. In my book, if you're even bothering with a ribbon, keep it simple. Don't go overboard. Just tie it into a neat little bow and you've already hit that festive vibe ๐Ÿ™‚ .
Our invitations didn't have anything on the front at all; we just put the word "Invitation" in the bottom right corner and called it a day. ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m still on the lookout for someone who could put together a little dessert station...

Does anyone have any good recommendations? The wedding is going to be in Vegas ๐Ÿ˜‰

Alexander Rodriguez2,
I figured that clasp was going to be pricey. I actually got a quote from a local vendor, and the whole invitation would run me about $3.25 ๐Ÿ˜ข
. But when I want a specific kind of clasp... ๐Ÿ™‚
I think I'll just DIY it. I've already worked out all the detailsโ€”the paper, the printing, the cutting.
By my math, itโ€™ll cost us roughly $133, including all the supplies.
It's half the price, and at least I know there won't be any typos. I see those mistakes happening way too often.
I'll just order the clasps on eBay.

There are several button options available on eBay right now; I noticed some circular ones as well as heart-shaped designs.

I was just browsing eBay, and honestly, you can find just about anything on there. If you're going to go that route, just make sure your order actually shows up when itโ€™s supposed to, otherwise you might miss the window for handing out those invitations ๐Ÿ˜‰ .

Has anyone ever been to the salon at General Dynamics? I heard David is an excellent stylist, so I was wondering if anyone has firsthand experience with him? Also, does he work solo there, or are there other stylists on staff?
Thanks so much!
I just can't seem to track down a truly great hairdresserโ€”someone who actually knows what they're doing!

I think Douglas is actually out in Australia right now, but honestly, Iโ€™d only suggest him if youโ€™re into weird head sculptures or if you want to risk a simple, casual style falling apart before the night is even over. ๐Ÿ˜He also loves putting fresh flowers in hair, which just wilts after two hours and looks terrible. In my opinion, heโ€™s totally overrated when it comes to styling; heโ€™s fine for a basic haircut, but a massive no-no for wedding hair. Just my two cents, though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It just occurred to me that a friend of mine went to him for some light curls, but she ended up going to Studio 54 for makeup, and while her makeup was being finished, they had to redo her hair at the start of the session just to get it straight again.
