Walter Phillips4 you really just made my day...
I was actually born on June 16th in the new arena over in Green River, and honestly, we still haven't managed to drag ourselves out there to see how they finally finished it up.
We did swing by once while they were still in the middle of painting everything

Walter Phillips4, thank you so much. You truly made my evening with that description of the venue. It fits my vision perfectly. I honestly can't wait for us to head out there and check it out.

So, I am getting married this summer—specifically on August 11th near Zanesville in the Midwest! Since I’m currently living over in Germany, I'm finding it a bit overwhelming trying to figure out where to track down all those little wedding essentials I'll need back home. I guess I was wondering if there are any ladies on the forum from the Midwest area who might be able to point me in the right direction? I'm looking for recommendations for a talented seamstress, and I'm also feeling a little stuck on ideas for thank-you favors or confetti—basically anything for guest gifts! I suppose I just need some general inspiration for wedding traditions across the whole US. I would be so incredibly grateful if anyone could share a few ideas with me!!

After browsing through this forum, I’ve come to the conclusion that Foto Art is doing an absolutely stellar job at what they do. However, I suppose I’m wondering if they would actually consider taking on a project for Zanesville, or am I perhaps mistaken in that assumption? If anyone happens to know of any other talented professionals out in the Midwest, please do feel free to let me know!

Rachel Flores5, welcome to the group! Honestly, I don’t see why you couldn't hire Foto Art or a similar studio to handle everything right here in the States—you'd just need to factor in the travel costs. It never hurts to ask for a quote. Since you're located so close to the border, you might actually find it more budget-friendly to pick up certain items just across the line. There are plenty of great boutiques over there with a solid selection of wedding dresses, boutonnieres, bowties, and more.

Hey, hi there. My in-laws are having their big thing on July 21st near that same small town. I'm also stuck living in Germany, trying to coordinate the whole mess from abroad. If you have any specific questions, feel free to reach out—I might be able to help you navigate it. Best of luck, Tyler Wright2!

We actually hired Photo Specialists for our wedding right here in town. They are fantastic, really. You just have to be very specific about your vision and tell them exactly what you want; we did just that, and it worked perfectly. We're expecting them to capture our day in a style very similar to what the other guys do.

Hey >... I actually used Photo Specialists for a friend's wedding last year, and honestly, I don't know, the DVD they put together just didn't really blow me away. Because of that, I ended up deciding to go with a different studio out in a nearby town instead! But I really hope everything turns out perfectly for your DVD!

I was just wondering, what kind of rental truck did you all end up getting for the wedding?

If you don't have a few pieces on hand, or if you haven't already put in a reservation, finding something available right now is going to be an uphill battle.
Are you from unknown, or is your husband?

Finding an open date near downtown Indianapolis was an absolute nightmare. We finally managed to snag a spot, though it’s nothing flashy. Honestly, we're just going to roll up our sleeves, handle all the decor ourselves, and I'm confident we can make it look decent enough.

No problem🙂
Does anyone here have experience getting a spray tan at that place over by the local stadium? I’m really not a fan of tanning beds, so I’d much rather go this route instead. Any thoughts? thx🙂

Arthur Ramirez4 said:So, I’m checking in from Indianapolis (well, technically just outside Elizabeth). My wedding is set for June 15th, 2007, and we’re holding it over at the Hyatt Regency. We’ve decided to keep things simple with just a dinner reception, which ends up costing us $50 per person, drinks included. They’re actually going to handle all the desserts for us too (one cake $0.83) along with the wedding cake—there are about 40 of us attending, so the cake is $133, and the best part is we can pick whatever flavor we want. Honestly, the ballroom is absolutely stunning. We aren't hiring a live band or anything; we're just going to curate our own playlist from a CD. We’re even making our own invitations and favors! Our photographer is based right here in Elizabeth (Anic Photography), and the total package for all three items comes to $167 (that covers the church ceremony coverage, a DVD, a CD with all the digital shots, 150 prints, and a physical album). From what I’ve seen of his portfolio, we truly couldn't find anyone better. Of course, if we went with someone else, it would definitely end up being more expensive! Wishing all you ladies the absolute best of luck!😍

Anic charged us $1333 back in the day.
Can't beat him.

crimsonorca11 said:Anyone from the Midwest or maybe even up near Napa have any experience with weddings at the Knežev Vinograd resort by the pools? I used to go there to swim all the time when I was a kid and it was honestly amazing. Plus, I’m really hoping I can pull off my dream here: an outdoor wedding. It’s perfect because they actually have an indoor restaurant too, just in case the weather turns sour. But since the wedding is set for June 2008, I’m a little stuck—do they even rent out the hall then? That might be right when their peak swimming season kicks off 🤔.

You can rent the hall. It's $15 per person and honestly beautiful. The only catch is it won't fit more than 150 people. That price includes the chefs and servers

Hey Tyler Wright2,
I actually had a party at a hall in Indianapolis recently, and honestly, with a little effort and some decent ideas, you can really make a space look great. Plus, they just put in new tiling in the hall, so it actually looks halfway decent now.
I used Photo Specialists too, and I was pretty happy with them. I agree with you—you just have to be very specific about what you want, and they'll make it happen.
