Hey, does anyone happen to have the phone number for Nicholas’s bridal boutique over in Dakota?
They were supposed to give me a call about some alterations for my dress, but I haven't heard a peep from them... Thanks!

You don't even have to pay until after the wedding is over, and if you have any leftover boutonnieres, she'll actually take them back. It's such a lifesaver!! 🙏🙏🙏

And where exactly across the border? Like, near Memphis or what??

I picked up my Revere there, same place I grabbed my wedding dress. You’re looking at $80 minimum, and honestly, that’s just the starting point depending on what combo you're after. In my experience, you aren't going to find a better deal anywhere else.

Hey ladies—does anyone know a stylist who does house calls? I'm looking to get some highlights done but honestly, the prices at the salon in downtown Indianapolis are getting ridiculous. Anyone have a lead? Thanks.

Helen Marijanovic... Honestly, Helen practically invented the art of makeup. She is a total genius at what she does, but just a heads-up—you really need to book her way, way in advance, so don't wait too long if you want her! 😁

👍 Helen Marijanovic did my makeup for my wedding too. I don't usually wear much makeup—often nothing at all—so she did a truly phenomenal job making sure I looked great while still looking like myself. 😉
I highly recommend her. My only issue was that whenever I tried to call her back for other weddings I attended, she was already booked up. However, she recommended two other girls to me, and I actually still use one of them for important events today. If anyone needs her number, just send me a DM...

Does anyone actually have a clue what makeup services go for in Columbus? I'm trying to get an idea of the local rates.

Somewhere in the ballpark of 100-$67, though I suppose it really depends on where you happen to be...

Only that little?! You people are living the dream! 😉
Can I come over to your place to get my makeup done? 🤣

From what I've gathered when you start looking at the cost of living, the Midwest is definitely more budget-friendly, though—and here's the catch—you're trading that lower price tag for way less variety in what's actually available on the shelves.

Hey ladies, I need some help! I’m originally from Des Moines, but I'm getting married in Columbus next year (aiming for September or October if we can snag a date at the right venue). Honestly, my fiancé and I are totally clueless about the wedding halls in the Columbus area—he's just not the planning type. I checked out the Admiral venue and it’s stunning, but the price tag is a bit much. We’re starting our venue tours in about two weeks, so if you have any recommendations, warnings, or leads on good spots around there, please let me know. We're expecting about 300 guests. Morgan Stewart50, if I remember correctly, you have a list of venues or restaurants somewhere? If you could send that my way, I would be incredibly grateful. Thanks in advance!

Well, I don't recall actually putting a formal list together, but I can whip one up for you in a heartbeat since I'm pretty familiar with almost all the venues in Columbus and the nearby suburbs.
First off, there's the Admiral venue, which you've already seen. It truly is stunning, though I should mention it's probably the most expensive option in town.
Then you have the "Lucy" hall, also known as "Zuki," which is also absolutely lovely and a bit more budget-friendly than the Admiral. Take a look here: www.zuki.hr
Since I'm not quite sure of your exact guest count, I should also mention the Kunjevac restaurant tucked away in the woods just outside of town. It holds a maximum of 300 people and the pricing is fairly mid-range. For instance, just a couple of years ago, it was around $5000.
There's also the Bosina sale "Barun Trenk"—it's actually three different halls within one building, and the largest one can accommodate up to 1,000 people. I'm fairly certain it's the only venue in our neck of the woods that can handle a crowd that massive.
Next, you have the "Elegant" hall located between Island and Komletinac, which is also very beautiful, and you can find menu options starting from as low as $57. It comes highly recommended by many!
Then there's our local venue in Cerna, the "Blue Lagoon," which is also wonderful; I might even upload some photos because we took some shots there recently.
You also have the "Renić" hall over in Rokovac toward Bazjaš, but they've done some renovations lately, and since I haven't been inside since then, I can't tell you for certain how it looks, but it's definitely worth a visit.
Over in Ivankov, you'll find "Ivanov Manor," which is another gorgeous venue; I suppose it really just depends on your personal style. The exterior is stunning, and the interior is quite solid and lovely as well. In that same little town, there's also the "Đukin stan" hall, though I think that's the only one on this list I haven't personally stepped foot in. You might want to ask around if that one interests you.
There is one smaller venue over in the Midwest area called "Valentino," but it caps out at maybe 200 or 250 people. The price point is quite reasonable.
And in Privlaka, there's a venue that holds about 400 to 500 people—I believe it's called "Prkačin." I can't give you an idea of the pricing, though.

I think that covers the main ones! If I've missed anything, I'm sure it'll come back to me and I'll add it in. If you have any other questions at all, please feel free to shoot them my way!
Please forgive me if any of these details are slightly off; the prices and capacities are just my best estimates. 😁

Thanks, thanks, and thanks again! I’m really digging this room, Lucy. Someone already dropped a link earlier, and boldcrane143 did too. These kinds of venues are beautiful just as they are—they don't need much intervention. You don't have to go out and buy a mountain of decor just to make them look decent, unlike some places where you basically have to stage a production to make it look halfway alright. I have one concern, though: my guest list is looking like it'll be around 300 people. It definitely won't go over, and it might even be less since my relatives from the Midwest probably won't all show up. My worry is how that's going to look in a venue that holds 560, like Lucy's. Won't it feel half-empty? boldcrane143, how many guests did you have?

So, I’ve got in-laws heading to Lucy for a wedding next September.
The venue is honestly stunning...
They actually set up the room based on your RSVP count, so even if it’s light, the place always looks packed... we’re looking at maybe 350 people since my family is scattered all over the country and not everyone can make the trip...

Has anyone here actually hired that Blitz Band from Indianapolis, or maybe seen them play a wedding before?

We caught them during their rehearsal and they were awesome, so we pulled the trigger and booked them, but I have no clue how they actually vibe at a live wedding...

Hello ladies—and to all the future wives out there... I am currently searching for some talented folk musicians who might be willing to travel down to the coast to perform! Does anyone happen to know of a reliable band? Also, if anyone could provide a rough idea regarding booking fees... please feel free to send me a private message. Thanks in advance...

Mine will be at a tight 540; we can't fit a single extra person in there if we want to breathe.😍
...but dear, having about 350 people would actually be perfect for you at Lucy's place. It works great for Lucille because
you wouldn't be crowding the dance floor. For me, the space feels huge even though they'll have to squeeze in a few extra tables, but for you, having all that extra room to really party would be wonderful...👍
