Are you kidding me with the alcohol? Just cross it off your list, man. You're playing with fire here—you could end up risking everything, even a stroke!

My psychiatrist swapped my Coaxil for Citalon today after I'd been on it for two months. Anyone else using Citalon? What’s the damage like...
I got prescribed this because the constant headaches and dizziness were triggering my panic attacks...
thanks

Just some info from an American depression support site regarding this medication—I haven’t personally tried it, but I assume someone here might be taking it...
"..Citalopram
Citalopram is an antidepressant available in both tablet and liquid forms. It works within the central nervous system as a highly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor, having minimal impact on norepinephrine or dopamine. Typically, you take it once a day, usually starting with a lower dose, though your doctor might gradually increase it if needed. The effects of this antidepressant are maintained throughout a 32-week course of therapy. Based on a physician's assessment, the dosage can be tapered down after a certain period—it should always be done gradually, and you should never stop taking it abruptly. If intolerable symptoms emerge during a dose reduction or as a response to
stopping the treatment, returning to the original prescribed dose may be considered. Potential side effects include decreased libido or sexual function, difficulty concentrating, insomnia, confusion, dizziness, and various gastrointestinal issues like nausea or vomiting. While there is no confirmed risk of addiction to this drug, careful clinical judgment and patient monitoring are necessary to watch for any signs of misuse. Extra caution is required for patients with a history of mania. Notably, Citalopram is incompatible with monoamine oxidase inhibitors due to dangerous, even fatal, risks such as hyperthermia, rigidity, delirium, and coma. Combining it with NSAIDs increases the risk of bleeding. Citalopram is not approved for pediatric use and should not be used for bipolar depression. Caution is advised for patients with impaired kidney or liver function. When taken as directed, Citalopram generally doesn't affect your ability to drive or operate machinery.
Registered in the US since 2006: Starcitin (Pfizer), Citalon (Lundbeck)

I have an appointment scheduled with my doctor next week, so I plan to ask about switching my dosage to the morning to see what kind of adjustment period I might face. 😁

As of right now, I don't seem to be experiencing any major side effects... although my insomnia persists... which isn't exactly a new development for me, it just feels slightly more intense lately... so... yeah...

Unfortunately, I’m going to be blunt and tell you—if your psychiatrist hasn't already—that you might have to take Paxil for the rest of your life. Don't overthink it. It's better to stay on an antidepressant than to deal with withdrawal or, even worse, falling back into a deep depression. Just stick with the Paxil and try not to dwell on it if it's keeping you stable.

I'd honestly go to the hospital just to have them taper me off these meds any way they see fit.
I'm taking Seroxat specifically for panic attacks, and I have absolutely no intention of being on pills for the rest of my life for something I feel I can handle on my own through sheer willpower...

It’s 3 AM and I just took half of my 50 mg Zoloft dose... I'm wondering if feeling extra wired is normal? I keep waking up multiple times throughout the night... feeling a bit disoriented too. I'll spend forever circling around a thought only to realize what I was looking for was right in front of me.😁

I did a little digging just now and saw that insomnia and trouble concentrating are listed side effects for Zoloft. I took this stuff before, back in 2005, and didn't have any issues at all. Now? Not so much. Maybe it's just because it's only day three... but still. What can I do about these sleep issues? I'm thinking maybe taking Normabel alongside Zoloft isn't working since it's making me so restless.😕 It doesn't seem to be doing the trick.😕

To be honest, I’ve always been a bit of a skeptic when it comes to these kinds of medications, and part of me wonders if my own cynicism is actually acting as a barrier, preventing the stuff from even working.

I didn't see what your specific diagnosis is, but if you're struggling, hang in there—I went through at least five different ones before I finally found Seroxat that actually worked for me. Everyone reacts differently to these things.
Stay strong.

I was actually just about to tell you that feeling hyper is pretty standard with Zoloft... and you're taking Lexapro with it too? That should be helping you relax, though I personally never use Lexapro for sleep—I prefer xanax. It really knocks me out, so maybe it could help you too? But definitely check with your doctor first, since you'll need a prescription anyway.

I need some guidance here.
For those of you currently on or previously prescribed Calixt, is there any truth to the rumors regarding rapid weight gain, even if it's just a single dose taken before bed?
I was prescribed this to help with my insomnia, but gaining weight is absolutely not an option for me since I compete in a sport where maintaining a specific weight class is critical.
I urgently need some insight from anyone who has been through this.
Thanks.

Please help. I took my antidepressant today and now suicide is the only thing on my mind. I don't see any way out if these meds are actually driving me toward this. No matter what I try to do, I can't shake the thought; it’s stronger than I am. I don't think I've ever been this depressed in my life. Everything seemed fine yesterday—I wasn't thinking about this nearly as much. If this continues, I'm afraid I won't make it. Is there an alternative, or is this just how it ends?

The prescribing information inside your medication box should explain everything regarding your specific situation.☕Are you perhaps referring to Wellbutrin?

Those sound like side effects. I wouldn't recommend taking more; instead, you should reach out to your psychiatrist or primary care physician immediately.
The medication's own instructions mention that it can trigger mood swings, potentially worsening depression or leading to thoughts of self-harm.
If you are feeling this bad right now, please call a doctor or a crisis line immediately.
Hang in there. Best regards,

If you are under 25, get yourself to the Emergency Room right now. Seriously, immediately!!!!! It's been clinically proven that antidepressants can trigger suicidal urges in younger people, so don't mess around with this. How old are you?????

Let's not be overly dramatic here. If someone actually intended to end their life, they wouldn't be sitting there typing on a forum.☕

I'm 23, but I'm not in New York. I don't feel like killing myself today despite being in a deep depression, so it doesn't feel quite that urgent. But tomorrow? Maybe. I think I'll head to my psychiatrist in the morning to see about getting different sedatives.
