🤷

Honestly, it doesn't really matter whether you feel the shift or not. I didn't notice anything happening at first either, but after a few months, I just realized I was living a much more normal life. I wasn't constantly holding myself back out of fear like I used to before starting the medication.
I'm so glad you're feeling better 👍 but if I could offer one piece of advice: if you hit a rough patch, please don't take Natalie or anything similar on your own whim, no matter how rarely you use it.

No. Not in this state. I can't just sit here if I don't do something, but I have no idea what that is. I couldn't even manage to get up for my psychiatrist today.🙄

But look, whatever you need, I’ve got your back. Just hang in there. If you want, shoot me your number in a DM and we can talk. Hang tough, girl—you only have a few more days to go. 🙂

Thanks, but I think I'll just head to my primary care doctor to see about getting prescriptions for Xanax, Natalie, and Ambien. That might help stabilize things. We'll see what she thinks.

Personally, I find it to be a pretty weak antidepressant. It had zero effect on me either..

Exactly! Everyone reacts to meds differently, I guess. Fever worked great for me, and Lexapro was also good, just kind of pricey even with a prescription.

Can anyone tell me, if you've ever tapered off an antidepressant before, whether it’s possible to take something else alongside it—something other than Xanax or Natalie—to help ease those withdrawal symptoms? Does even such a thing exist?
I'm seeing my psychiatrist this Monday, and I'm honestly a bit worried he might just tell me to keep taking Paxil instead of actually letting me stop.

I'm taking Seroxat specifically for panic attacks, and I have absolutely no intention of being on pills for the rest of my life for something I feel I can handle on my own through sheer willpower...

Just do it then. If you can't make it work on your own, go to the hospital.

wearysurfer78 said:Has anyone here managed to tackle their insomnia without resorting to heavy-duty prescription meds?😳

I took two different sleep aids—Sanval and Dormicum—for two weeks each. It worked fine while I was on them, and even gave me a few days of relief after I stopped, but then everything went right back to how it was before.

I’ve cycled through various anxiolytics: Natalie, Xanax, Lexapro, and Helex. For me, Xanax is the only thing that actually helps me sleep. When I take it, my insomnia finally retreats, but without the meds, my sleep quality is pretty much nonexistent.

I work like a dog all day long. Honestly, I think that might be the only real way to beat insomnia without turning to pills... though maybe this will help instead:

I checked out the Transparent Corp product lineup on their site. Honestly, most of what they’re pushing feels like overkill for the average person. It’s all very technical, very "engineered," but I can't help but feel like they're overcomplicating things just to justify the price tag. It's one of those situations where you wonder if you're paying for actual utility or just high-end branding. Not my cup of tea, but I suppose there's a market for people who love that kind of stuff.

ANYONE KNOWING ANYTHING????
my boyfriend's been having manic episodes and he's in the psych ward for the third time now. he was on Zyprexa and some other stuff before but it didn't seem to work, so now they've got him on Lithium. i did a little reading but i'm still lost on what it actually does and if it'll even help him. what's the big difference between those two meds?? also read that lithium can be lethal in high doses... how much is too much? like, is it dangerous if he just takes one too early or if he actually misses the mark on the dosage??

They aren't going to give him a lethal dose.
Honestly, you could probably kill yourself with a handful of Tylenol if you were foolish enough to take them all at once. He'll be getting his Lithium under medical supervision, so there really isn't any reason for you to be panicking.🤷

Man, I’m seriously hitting a wall here—it’s been a month since I last had a drink and honestly, I am struggling. Like, really struggling. It’s getting hard to hold out, and now I’m spiraling a bit wondering what happens if I skip my meds tonight? So, here’s the deal: I take Luvox 25 mg in the evening, but I already took my Lexapro this morning because there's such a massive gap between when I take that and when I'd actually be drinking!!! GUYS, I NEED HELP!!! Or... is it okay if I take the Luvox and then maybe, just maybe, have one beer like two, three, or four hours later???

First off, what’s the reason you’re on medication in the first place?
Second, you really ought to stay away from alcohol while you're on this treatment. If you find yourself missing it that much, maybe it's time to look into rehab. What can I say—it's been three years since I've touched a drop?
And no, you absolutely cannot start tweaking your own dosage or skipping pills just because you want to go out drinking at night. You're playing with fire and risking even worse symptoms; for instance, if you're dealing with panic disorder, skipping a few doses could trigger a whole new wave of attacks.
These medications take days to build up in your system, so taking an extra Lexapro earlier in the day isn't going to change anything.
A single beer probably won't kill you, but it all depends on how your body reacts to mixing booze with your meds.
At the end of the day, you have to decide: is your mental health more important than a few beers that might jeopardize everything?

So, I’m currently on meds for my OCD—you know how it is—and I was just wondering... if I have, like, just one single beer, is that actually gonna mess anything up? Just one, nothing crazy, but is one drink really going to be an issue?

If the instructions say you shouldn't mix this with alcohol, doesn't that basically mean you should skip the drinks entirely? I mean, surely one beer won't ruin everything, right? Then again, it really just comes down to how your body reacts.

Look, what you're doing here is honestly pretty childish and irresponsible. You're basically trying to shift the responsibility onto random people on a forum—hoping that if something goes wrong, it's our fault for saying "it's fine." The reality is that everyone reacts differently to mixing meds and alcohol. At the end of the day, you're the one in charge of your own life, and the warning labels on your prescription make the risks crystal clear. You can't have it both ways. Ultimately, the choice is yours!

What’s everyone’s experience been like with Wellbutrin?
I was on Lexapro for a few months, and after about two months at two and a half pills a day, I felt relatively okay. Based on my psychiatrist's advice, I tried tapering down to just one Lexapro a day after two months, but things started going downhill fast. I ended up bumping back up to the 2.5 dose, but even after another two months, I wasn't feeling any better, so my doctor suggested switching over to Wellbutrin 300.
The initial transition was absolutely brutal, but I've been on it for a month now and the worst of it has passed—though I still haven't noticed any actual improvement in my mood.
How long does it usually take before you start seeing real results? 😢

My experience with Wellbutrin was quite poor, so my doctor switched me back to Faverin, and I am doing okay now.

Thanks for asking. 🙂

I started on Xanax. For sleep, I've been using Melatonin. As for the antidepressants, I decided to stay put until I can see a psychiatrist. My thoughts aren't quite as dark anymore—likely thanks to the Xanax. I even took 6 Melatonin last night.😍
