Linda Ross said:sorry Betty, I missed your reply earlier. I definitely plan on researching the side effects before I pick up my prescription, especially given how unpredictable these antidepressants can be lately. That said, both Calixta and Loquen list weight gain as a frequent side effect, which is a massive concern for me since I already struggle with my weight; the last thing I need is a medication that triggers constant cravings. So far, Loquen hasn't spiked my appetite, but the sensation is incredibly strange. It takes forever to kick in, and once it finally does, I feel like I'm trapped in some sort of half-dream state. I’ll sleep, yet I never truly feel rested, waking up several times feeling completely disoriented. I usually take Starcitin during the day, whereas this is meant for bedtime—is there an antidepressant specifically designed for nighttime use that doesn't cause weight gain? To be fair, I found it much easier to fall asleep on Calixta than on Loquen, but the weight gain from that was absolutely catastrophic.

For me, Calixta only helped with calming me down for sleep on the very first night. I don't take it anymore. Now I'm using Ambien to help me sleep.

Nozinan and Loquen are antipsychotics,
is this some kind of new addition to depression treatments they're rolling out?😕

Well, I was prescribed both Calixta and Loquen for my depression, though I typically take them right before bed...
wanderingangler90, isn't Dormicum just a hypnotic that only provides temporary relief?

Yeah, I was prescribed those for depression...
So, how's it working for you? Are you actually feeling any better?
I've been on Lexapro for about a month now, give or take, but honestly, it hasn't done a damn thing for me. I'm taking Helix every single day just to stay afloat, and frankly, it feels like being in a total fog.div>

I initially found Calixta quite effective for getting some rest, though I eventually found myself having to bump up the dosage just to feel even a slight effect. On the other hand, Loquen strikes me as being rather potent; at this stage, I’ve been limiting myself to just half a tablet—essentially 50mg before bed—and I find myself waiting quite a while, nearly an hour and a half, for it to kick in. While I do manage to fall asleep, my sleep tends to be fragmented, leaving me waking up several times in a sort of half-slumber, yet I must admit that I feel wonderful throughout the morning and the day, and so far, there hasn't been any noticeable increase in appetite.

Good grief, what are you even stressing about?
If you’ve actually survived that kind of soul-crushing depression, anxiety, and that paralyzing fear of everything under the sun, then worrying about a few extra pounds should be the very last thing on your mind.

At least for me, if my head is in a decent place, I couldn't care less about the scale.

The real issue here is that I compete in a sport where weight classes are everything; if I happen to gain just two pounds, I am automatically bumped up into a different category entirely. It isn’t something I take lightly—not by a long shot—especially since my body composition was one of the primary drivers behind my struggle with depression, and I have finally, after so much effort, managed to get myself back on track.

I would honestly just suggest that you stop obsessing over exactly when the AD will kick in or when you'll finally start feeling better. Why not try to just go about your day without constantly thinking about the medication itself?

They say there are a hundred different ways to be a person, and I guess that’s true, because I can't help but overthink everything when I'm just trying to feel some kind of lift, any kind of mood boost at all.
I've got a follow-up appointment this Saturday, so I'll finally see what my doctor has to say about whether I should stick with these or try something else entirely.
Lately, I've been trying to exercise some self-control by keeping my Helix intake to a minimum—just 0.5 mg a day—but even that feels like way too much sometimes.
I really don't want to end up becoming dependent on them.

Oh, wow. So what, prayer, yoga, meditation, some weird parapsychology stuff isn't doing the trick for you?

😂 😂

Dormicum? You're talking about 15 mg of benzodiazepines? That’s basically the heavy-duty stuff doctors pump into patients right before they go under for surgery.

I mean, honestly... no comment. Just do me a huge favor and stop looking my way or tagging my name, "shaman." Thanks, buddy!

They went and doubled my Xanax dose! (And I was already on the absolute bare minimum 😍)!

Now I'm actually low-key terrified to take it 🙄

Just have a Bud Light to settle the nerves first, then take the Xanax.🤷

Don't let it get to you. 😉 You aren't going to be taking this dosage forever, right? It's just meant to help you stabilize for a little while.

Hey there, I'm jumping in too...
Thanks for the replies... there aren't many here, but they're fine enough.
After that day when I took half a dose of Zoloft around noon, I felt absolutely terrible—just pure nausea.
Yesterday, I took it in the evening, and it’s been about an hour since then.
My heart is racing like crazy, my jaw feels tight, I can't stop yawning, and my vision is incredibly blurry.
Thank God at least the nausea is gone... except for this hyperactive, drugged-out, hypersensitive state I'm in.
And honestly... sorry, but I feel exactly how I used to feel years ago after taking ecstasy!!!
And let me tell you, that is not a sensation I care to revisit.
I still have two days of half-doses left before I move up to the full dose, and frankly... I'm terrified!
Is it actually true that after a few weeks of dealing with these stupid side effects, I'll finally start feeling great?

Does anyone know... maybe??

Thanks everyone!😍

Maria Gomez6 said:Hi everyone.
I was wondering if anyone here has experience using Celexa for depression. Does it actually tend to have fewer side effects compared to other antidepressants on the market?

Can someone tell me if Lexapro causes weight gain? Thanks. Cheers.

We’ve touched on this before, whether on this thread or the last one. It's based on experience... though perhaps you see things differently.

Here is how psychotropic drugs generally cause weight gain. If anyone actually lives forever, they can send me the footage.

It’s just pure weight gain. Honestly, Calixta has caused me more weight fluctuations in a shorter window than anything else I've tried; I packed on a noticeable amount of pounds in just two weeks. Once I stopped taking it, my metabolism went completely haywire. They told me it’s because the stuff significantly slows down your metabolic rate, which means food isn't being processed quickly enough, but since you're left with this relentless appetite, you keep consuming new food constantly—your stomach simply can't keep up with the digestion process, so everything just starts piling up. In my opinion, Calixta is an absolute failure!
