Taylor Miller10 said:Hey everyone!
Here’s my update...

...I've been on a full dose of Zoloft (50 mg) for two weeks now, and I have to admit, I’m actually feeling okay.
When I first started the full dosage, I honestly thought about quitting immediately because I felt completely drugged. It gave me such an intense surge of energy that it actually terrified me.
Still, I decided to grit my teeth and push through it, and now it feels like my body is finally starting to adjust.
I've even regained my appetite; I've actually lost three pounds since I started taking it.
Honestly, it’s a relief... finally!😉

Also, I can't tell if I'm slowly getting over my breakup, or if the Zoloft is just giving me the courage to move on...

Sending love to you all!

I’ve been on 100 mg for two weeks already, and I’m still crying and dealing with dark thoughts.
I lost 3 pounds too.
I really hope this dose actually starts working this time.
😢

I really don't know what to tell you... other than just grit your teeth and try not to obsess over exactly when it's supposed to kick in.👍
That’s exactly what they told me... I followed that advice, and well... I'm doing okay for now, and I can only hope it stays that way.

Hang in there!

Taylor Miller10 said:And yeah... I have a question.😁

Why is drinking supposed to be a bad idea while you're on antidepressants?
I'm not joking about this—I honestly want to know if it's okay to grab drinks with my girlfriends over the weekend.
...and I can't really tell if I've become more "erratic" or anything since starting them.😍

thanks!

Just ask your therapist. Besides, the warning label on every antidepressant bottle says it right there—so if you really want to play guinea pig, go ahead.☕

Drinking just makes antidepressants hit harder. You might feel dizzy—could even throw up. 😢

Hey there, Roman gladiator—is there actually anything stronger for sleep than Ambien? Apparently, that stuff just fries your receptors.
I was practically a walking Freud textbook—super lively and restless😉 while on Paxil, and now my doctor is cutting me off because I can't catch a wink of sleep!

You’re just like my mom. Honestly, you two should probably swap stories. She's dealing with terrible insomnia too.🙂

For those of you who have taken Zoloft,
what kind of side effects did you deal with?

I’ve never been on such a high dose before—100 mg,
and I've been on it for two weeks now, but the side effects are hitting me hard.
Nausea, anxiety, trouble sleeping, shaky hands,
aching muscles... honestly, I just feel like I want to crawl out of my own skin.

Is this stuff normal while your brain adjusts to this much Zoloft,
or what?

What has your experience been like?

A little bit of alcohol, like a glass of wine or maybe a beer, shouldn't really mess with you too much. Just don't do it right after taking your meds, though. Maybe wait until somewhere between 👍

It’s a whole different story if someone goes overboard with five beers and a bottle of wine 😁

Anyway, if anyone can help me out, feel free to shoot me a DM...

I'm on Effexor XR 2 x75mg and Xanax SR 2 x1mg. I've been on Xanax for about 3g, and Effexor XR 3 mg. Basically, at first, I couldn't sleep at all—like, I didn't feel anything even after 5 weeks. Then things started looking up a bit. But then I just crashed hard for maybe 2 weeks, and now, for the last few days, I've been sleeping almost all day. Like, I seriously can't stay awake 🤷

I'm starting to think this might be more than just depression! And man, the dreams 😲

Just talk to the psychiatrist who prescribed those antidepressants. That drowsiness might just be the depression itself. It's probably just a way of shielding yourself from reality.

I don't even know what to tell you. I mean—you've already cycled through a ton of different meds. 🤷Have you tried Ambien? It’s a hypnotic—you just take 10 mg before bed.

No, I haven't, and frankly, everything is going to knock me out long before that does—we'll see how tomorrow goes. Honestly, I think I actually got some rest because I crashed around 7:00 and slept for a solid two hours thanks to those damn 10 mg Prozac pills... and then they have the nerve to tell me not to take anything else at night. Grrrr.

I guess I agree! I basically run to sleep whenever things get rough, just because it feels safe there...

I don't know what to tell you, I just look at the way things are going and feel like we're all just circling the drain. It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck where everyone is too busy arguing about the color of the conductor's hat to notice the tracks ended three miles back. You try to make sense of the chaos, to find some kind of logic in the madness, but most days it feels like trying to catch smoke with your bare hands. You can lean on the old certainties all you want, but they don't hold much weight anymore when the wind starts blowing this hard. kaže:

Living with F33.3—that heavy, recurring depressive disorder where the psychosis starts creeping in—is like being stuck in a permanent, chronic phase of a storm that just refuses to break. It’s not just feeling down; it’s this deep, systemic exhaustion where reality itself begins to feel like it's fraying at the edges.
Holy crap, I just realized my level is sitting at 33.3.😱

It’s that stage where you realize this isn't just a temporary setback or a bad week; it's the long haul. You stop waiting for the storm to pass and just start learning how to live in the rain. It becomes part of the landscape, like a constant, dull hum in the background of everything you do.

I mean, seriously... honestly, God, what did I ever do to deserve this?🙂

velvetsailor26, if you're actually aware of how much you're tripping, then you aren't psychotic...

You can always go get a second opinion.
What was the basis for your diagnosis?

Hey, don't stress too much—I'm sure there's a medication out there for that.👍

Like I already mentioned, I’m perfectly happy with my psychiatrist.

I’m not one of those patients who frantically jumps from doctor to doctor hoping to find some magic fix they missed.

They probably just did it to justify why they slapped an antipsychotic on you in the first place.

.

but I’m really hoping it turns out to be more like this...

Maybe they're just in remission, or maybe they're just playing the part.

Schizophrenia doesn't tank your IQ, so people can be damn good at lying to their psychiatrist or just telling them exactly what they want to hear instead of being real about how they actually feel.
The absolute worst ones are the folks who can't make up their minds—they either want to stay "sick" to dodge meds, or they want to be "cured" by staying on antipsychotics forever.
