Hey ladies, I’m looking to hear about your experiences with early pregnancy spotting versus a normal period. My cycle came right on schedule, which is usual for me, but it only lasted two and a half days. It was this darker red blood, normal flow, but honestly, I felt like I didn't even have a period at all. I have a two-year-old boy I'm still breastfeeding a few times a day. My husband and I had unprotected sex about 7-8 days before my period started—we usually do that since we assume those are our infertile days, and my longest cycle has been 31 days. Lately, I’ve been dealing with occasional bouts of nausea and I've put on a few pounds. I’d love to know what your "period" looked like if you were pregnant, and what the odds are that I might be pregnant given that I'm still nursing, which could definitely mess with my cycle. I've had regular periods consistently for a year now since having my son. THANKS EVERYONE!🤷

Don't waste your time... just buy a test.
Or go get an hCG blood test.

I might wait a few more days to see if this nausea clears up. If it doesn't, I'll just get the bloodwork done. Honestly, I’m avoiding my local clinic because my doctor isn't seeing patients right now, so some old-school physician who's anything but friendly is covering for him. Quick question about the blood test—do you happen to know how much that usually runs?🙄

I can't believe I actually saw that! Seriously, who would have thought? It’s one of those moments that just catches you completely off guard. Does anyone else feel like they're living in a movie sometimes? Just when you think you know what to expect, something totally unexpected happens. What a wild ride!

Thinking about getting some bloodwork done over in Seattle? It’s all about the analysis. $3.25Is it just me, or does anyone else feel like their hormones are on a total rollercoaster lately? It’s wild how much everything shifts. Anyone else going through this right now? $44 That’s the standard cost for testing any hormone—in this case, the hCG. Since you're already getting your blood drawn anyway, why not ask for a full CBC too? It doesn't cost much extra, so you might as well get the whole picture. $17All in all, that's the bottom line.$64...or if you’re just going to go for the hCG. $47You'll be done in five minutes flat, and you'll get your results the very same day. If you want, I can just shoot them over to you via email?👍

Maybe I'll hold off on the hCG test for a few more days to see if this nausea finally clears up. If it doesn't, I'll just bite the bullet and get it done. I really don't feel like heading over to that clinic near me; my insurance isn't working, so I'd have to deal with some old-school doctor who’s anything but welcoming. Quick question though—do you happen to know how much an hCG test actually runs?🙄

Your hCG is at that lab in downtown Chicago, on the ground floor of the medical center. $50You head in during the morning, and you usually get results around 1 or 2 PM. You can pick them up in person or have them emailed over—they aren't exactly thrilled about giving them out over the phone.

Thanks. I'll wait a few more days before heading in. I don't really know what's going on; I have a ton of symptoms. Low back pain, similar to pregnancy pains, and extra saliva production. It feels weird for this to happen to me, though. I've had two pregnancies before with normal cycles... and I definitely want one more...

I'm not from Chicago, I'm from rural Wisconsin. I got a little spooked because I've been dealing with all those other symptoms too—extra saliva, lower back aches, the whole pregnancy routine. As for my breasts, I'm assuming I wouldn't notice any changes while breastfeeding, right?😠

So, my sister-in-law actually ended up pregnant even though she hadn't had her period in three months!

And then there’s this friend of mine who had her period in her fourth month—ended up having twins. 🤣 😍

My husband’s sister actually went eighteen years without having any children, and at one point, she started gaining some weight and just assumed it was part of getting older. However, after a few months, she began feeling this strange, rhythmic pulsing sensation deep in her abdomen 🤣 which prompted her to head straight to her doctor. It turns out she was already five months pregnant! She had been having perfectly regular periods and hadn't noticed even the slightest hint of a pregnancy, yet she ended up giving birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy 😍

This period was weirdly short. It started on August 30th, and my last cycle was 29 days. We had sex maybe around day 20 or 21... I know there's always a slight chance a cycle just runs long, but I’ve been tracking this for years now. My longest was 31 days and my shortest was 24. I just checked my basal temperature, and since today should be day 17 of my cycle, it really ought to be elevated. It isn't. It’s sitting at 98.0°F. I didn't notice any fertile mucus this month either—just more of that white discharge. It feels like I missed my fertile window entirely. I'm lost here.🙄Has anyone dealt with weird basal temperature readings? When is it supposed to spike in a normal cycle? And what are the odds of getting pregnant with such a low temp? It's strange. Yesterday I had some cramping in my lower abdomen and some pelvic pains. I actually went to my regular OB-GYN for a checkup just two days before this period started. During the ultrasound, she mentioned an increased blood flow to the uterus, which she said is totally normal since I've been pregnant and given birth twice before. Funny enough, she told me the exact same thing when I was in early pregnancy and nothing showed up on the ultrasound yet. I'd love to hear your thoughts.😍

Just buy a kit. It’s only like 20 bucks, way better than just guessing like this.

Looks like I’ll have to go through with it. Just need a little more nerve to actually pull the trigger. I’m heading out to grab a test later today, so I'll let you guys know if anything comes up.😁

Honestly, I find threads like this completely pointless—just a massive waste of time. There’s nothing meaningful about them.
Wish we were all some kind of psychic old ladies—maybe then we wouldn't have to wait for a test to know if someone’s actually pregnant.🙄
Look, redpilot37, I don’t really get what you were hoping to gain from this thread. Someone might tell you "yes," someone else might say "no"—it’s all just endless noise at this point. It's honestly pointless. Even if your period is late, you aren't any closer to an answer just by talking about it. The only actual, reliable ways to know if you're pregnant are taking a test or getting a blood draw for beta hCG. Everything else is just guesswork and superstition. "Oh, my right breast is aching, I must be pregnant..." please. It reminds me of those old wives' tales people used to spout back in the day—completely useless.😁

Look, the whole point of a thread like this is to swap stories. Even a fool knows that a random comment isn't going to solve my specific problems. Anyway, I picked up one of those basic $11 tests—just a simple strip—and according to that, I'm not pregnant. Ha. So, I'm heading to a private doctor instead. 🙂

Hey everyone! I’m new here, and I have a question that might sound a bit silly, but I’d really appreciate some insight. So, I took a Clearblue test yesterday, but I left the urine sitting in the plastic cup for about 15 minutes while I ran out to grab a coffee. Could that delay have messed with the result? It came back negative, but my period still hasn't arrived, and I'm on day 35. Usually, I land somewhere between days 17 and 31, so being late by 4 to 8 days is completely unheard of for me. To make things weirder, I haven't had any of my usual PMS symptoms this month either. I can't help but wonder if I'm just psyching myself out because I'm so desperate to start a family...

First off, there’s a pinned thread specifically titled 'Starting New Topics' that you really should have reviewed before posting here.
Second, we actually have a dedicated discussion on 'Early Pregnancy Symptoms,' where questions just like yours come up every single day; a quick glance through those existing conversations would have saved you from creating an unnecessary new thread.

northernsailor4, welcome to the club and come join the girls over at 😍!

In my opinion, that shouldn't have any impact on your results. The hCG hormone is either present in your urine or it isn't, regardless of whether you let the sample sit at room temperature for 15 minutes or not.

By the way, I totally know what it’s like when you see a negative result... and you start desperately hunting for any possible reason why the test might be wrong. Not to mention the frantic searching through the trash or squinting at the test from every single angle and under every possible light, just hoping to catch even the tiniest shadow of that elusive positive line... 🙄
