How long does it actually take from fertilization until a pregnancy test shows a positive result? My fertile window lined up exactly with hers, so Iโ€™m wondering how much longer I have to sit here and wait before I can finally take a test. Honestly, I keep obsessing over every little symptom, just trying to convince myself that itโ€™s happening.

You really shouldn't even bother testing until you're actually due for your period...
some people might see a positive even thenโ€”even though they were already pregnant weeks ago
don't rush into it too early

Thanks! Thatโ€™s what I was thinking, too, but I have to admit Iโ€™m incredibly impatient and just wanted to know as soon as possible.๐Ÿ˜‰

๐Ÿง The baby will arrive when it arrives; don't let it get to you too much.

God willing, it happens sooner rather than later... ๐Ÿ˜›

Good luck to both of you impatient souls... ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks so much! I'll touch base again in about ten days or so. Hopefully, by then, I'll be feeling a bit more like myself.๐Ÿ˜

Oh man, oh man... honestly, you have no idea how much weight is lifted off my shoulders just knowing I'm not the only one going through this. ๐Ÿ˜
I am counting down the days until that next updateโ€”whatever it may beโ€”just so I can finally breathe easy again.
Hang in there, Helly, I know exactly where you're coming from. If things start looking up, we might end up doing ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ and so on, until I hit my character limit.
Keep me posted on how everything develops.

Hey ladies!!!! So Iโ€™ve got a bit of a situation... hereโ€™s how it goes... I was on the pill until April 12th, then my period showed up on the 17th, and since then, my partner and I decided weโ€™re done being careful with everything... so now I'm wondering, since people say you can get pregnant pretty fast after stopping the pill, when should I actually take a test? Like, what would be the best timing so I don't end up with a false negativeโ€”which is totally not what I'm hoping for, if you know what I mean... anyway, my period was supposed to show up the day before yesterday.... is it fine to just wait another week, or is waiting 2-3 days after it's late enough? (I guess Iโ€™m just naturally impatient)....๐Ÿ˜
Thanks in advance for any help....๐Ÿ™

My period arrived on April 17th, and since then, my partner and I have decided to stop playing it safe... so, what I want to know is, since I was told you can get pregnant quite quickly after stopping the pill, when should I take a test? Specifically, when would be the best time to take it so I don't get a false negative? I hope you understand... anyway, my period was supposed to arrive the day before yesterday. Is it okay to wait another week, or is waiting just 2-3 days after it's late enough? (I am naturally a very impatient person)....๐Ÿ˜

It generally takes the body at least six months to fully clear out those hormones after stopping the pill. Some women find it nearly impossible to conceive during that window, while others actually get pregnant even while still on them. What you're experiencing now could be the hormonal shift, or you might actually be pregnant ๐Ÿ˜. You should pick up a Clearblue Mini; they cost about $10 and work well. Just make sure to use your first urine of the morning. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a positive result for you.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

I suppose I should address the recent discussions regarding the current state of affairs... though I find myself increasingly weary of how quickly everyone jumps to conclusions without considering the broader implications. It feels as if we are all just drifting through these cycles of outrage, waiting for the next inevitable collapse of logic. One wonders if anyone truly stops to reflect anymore, or if we have simply become addicted to the noise... perhaps that is too cynical, but then again, experience tends to breed such a temperament. Regardless, I shall attempt to provide some clarity where I can, even if it feels somewhat futile in this climate... kaลพe:
It takes at least six months for the body to truly flush those hormonal pills out of its system... Itโ€™s a slow process. Some women find they can't conceive for that entire duration, while others somehow manage to get pregnant even while still on them. If your cycle is lagging, it could be lingering traces of the medication, or perhaps you're already pregnant... one never really knows for certain without testing... ๐Ÿ˜You really ought to consider picking up a Gravignost Mini... the price point is actually quite reasonable... $10 That sounds like a solid plan. Just make sure you test it using the very first urine sample from the morning. Iโ€™ll be crossing my fingers that the results come back positive...๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘

It really depends on which specific medication youโ€™re talking about... If we are discussing those milder, more modern formulations that everyone seems to be using lately, there isn't even any need for a cleanse at all... ๐Ÿคท

I mean, I get that my period might be running late because my body is basically doing a massive "reset" after coming off the pill... that's why I was asking if it's better to just wait a week or if I can even try tomorrow morning. Honestly, every OBGYN has a different opinion on how long you have to wait, which is so annoying. I was on Yasmin for forever, and once it started messing with me, my doctor switched me over to Celeste. Since they're both super low-dose hormone pills anyway, I don't see the point in waiting around. Plus, Iโ€™ve been dealing with PCOS since I was 17, and it was all confirmed again recently after ten years, so I'm not looking to delay things unnecessarily. If God wills it, then YES, let's go!!!!!!

Just try to remember how long your cycles used to be before you started the pill. Or, if this first attempt doesn't work out, you'll at least have a rough idea of the timing... In any case, make sure you wait at least 28 days from the first day of your last M
edit: Itโ€™s already been 28 days ๐Ÿ˜› but if youโ€™re feeling fine and aren't seeing any weird discharge or spotting, there's really no need to rush into taking a test.

Thanks! Iโ€™ll just hang tight and wait, though honestly, I feel like it would probably be a total crapshoot on the first try... but hey, you never know, I guess.๐Ÿ˜

Yeah, waiting is an absolute grind. Honestly, the best move would be to just stop thinking about it entirely, but that's easier said than done. ๐Ÿ™„ Let's try to make it through one more week before we run the test.๐Ÿ‘

The soreness in my breasts has finally subsided. Theyโ€™re still discolored, but the pain is gone. ๐Ÿคท

I just feel incredibly bloated now, almost like I'm about to pop like a balloon. ๐Ÿ™„

I picked up one of those quick drugstore tests yesterday afternoonโ€”only cost me about five bucksโ€”and it gave me two solid lines within seconds. My last period was back on March 4th, so Iโ€™m already quite late. I have an appointment scheduled with my OBGYN tomorrow morning, but after reading through both of these posts and seeing how a positive result could stem from either a pregnancy or ovarian cysts, I am honestly terrified. I know Iโ€™ve dealt with cysts in the past, and usually, when they cause a delay, the tests come back negative. But this feels different, and the anxiety is starting to set in.

As for the symptoms... my breasts are tender and swollen๐Ÿ˜, and I feel like Iโ€™m constantly running to the bathroom because I can't hold it anymore; my bladder is actually starting to ache from the constant pressure๐Ÿ˜‚. Then thereโ€™s this persistent heartburn thatโ€™s been nagging at me for a few days... itโ€™s at the point where I can practically smell someone eating Snickers bars three rooms away๐Ÿ™„. Certain scents make me nauseous, and Iโ€™ve been waking up with a headache for a week now๐Ÿ˜ . I feel like I could sleep for twenty-four hours straight if I could, and my abdomen feels heavy, just like the tension right before a period starts, which keeps me rushing to the restroom to check if my period has finally arrived. Oh, and my libido has completely vanished, which is driving my husband absolutely crazy๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

You are PREGNANT, honey...

I had cysts too, and my period would be over two weeks late, but the tests always came back negative until I actually got pregnant. Then it showed a plus. A test didn't lie to me once.
Even during my last pregnancy, I had a massive cyst, like 3x3 inches, and the test still showed a positive without any doubt. (I say "massive" because it didn't even rupture during the four months of pregnancy; I ended up having a miscarriage instead.)

Don't worry too much, things will happen the way they're meant to. Your symptoms are pretty unmistakable... yeah, you might get some morning sickness๐Ÿคฃ, which usually kicks in around week five, and at this point, it's only a matter of days. If you're lucky, maybe it'll skip you. I'm crossing my fingers for you, because it's absolutely miserable.๐Ÿ˜
