I could use a little bit of guidance here... I suspect there might already be a thread about this somewhere, but frankly, I just don't have the energy to go hunting for it right now... My period was supposed to start this past Monday, which means I'm currently three days late. I'm feeling quite uncertain about whether I should be worried or not. My partner and I were actually away at the beach until yesterday (we've been gone since last Thursday), and I've read online that changes in the weather or climate can sometimes throw things off... so perhaps that's the culprit? 😕 Usually, I experience significant breast and nipple tenderness before my cycle begins, but this time, those symptoms are completely absent... We always practice safe sex, so I'm feeling a bit bewildered by this sudden shift... 🤷 I'm torn on whether I should take a test tomorrow or if I should just wait a while longer... I've also been dealing with some constipation lately, though I suspect that might just be due to the change in environment/weather as well... 😕 Ah... I really don't know... if anyone has any advice or insight, please do let me know... thanks 😛

...well... if you're using protection... then it's probably unlikely that you're pregnant......and the weather—among other things—can either speed up or delay your cycle......

...just give it a day or two, then take a test.....

Honestly, you really shouldn't let this get to you. Stress, anxiety, and even just traveling through different climates can easily push a cycle back; it's all perfectly normal physiological stuff. You mentioned yourself that you're being careful with protection, so my best advice is to just try and decompress—it'll likely show up when it's ready. If it doesn't, then go see a doctor for a checkup. It might just be a small cyst or something similar, and they can prescribe something like Provera to help jumpstart things—I've had to deal with that myself in the past. 🙄 )

Thanks for the quick reply. Honestly, I’m a bit stumped here... It’s throwing me off a little that my breasts aren't sore, especially since they usually start aching at least a week and a half before my period arrives. 🤷

Steven Harris16, thanks! Honestly, I tend to get a little worked up about these things... maybe I'm just overthinking it all, though. I guess I'll just wait and see how things play out over the next few days. 🙂

Hehe... alright, fine, you caught me! But honestly, it’s only a matter of time before we all face it one way or another. And let’s be real, it hasn't actually disappeared—unless someone slipped a cheap knockoff into our Durex box! Hahaha

Hey everyone, I’m back in your midst again! 🙂
I try to keep up with all your posts regularly—especially those of you hoping for a little miracle—but life just hasn't given me much time for typing lately. Now that I finally have a moment, I have a bit of a question. I don't want to say too much about my own situation quite yet, at least not until things are more certain...
So, here's the deal: about four months ago, I underwent a procedure to treat some uterine scarring (blighted ovum issues), and since then, my cycles have stretched out to about 36 days. Lately, though, over the last week, I’ve been experiencing these strange symptoms that feel suspiciously like early pregnancy signs. But since my OBGYN appointment isn't until this Wednesday, I'm torn. Does it even make sense to take a test right now, or should I wait until my period actually misses—assuming it even will? Honestly, after reading so much about "phantom symptoms," I'm starting to worry that I'm just driving myself crazy with wishful thinking...
Oh, I should mention, I had a full checkup back in June and everything looked perfect, so hopefully that part of the equation is solid...

Ugh, honestly, just getting that off my chest makes me feel so much better. 😁

Honestly, you’re probably playing it safest just waiting until the day your period is actually late, but if you happen to track your ovulation, try counting at least 12 days past that window.
I actually took a test three days before I was even supposed to, but since my ovulation tends to happen early, I could see a clear positive on the afternoon test—though who knows, maybe it's twins 🤣?

So, if my math is right, that would be right about now. I can't give you an exact date for ovulation, but I’m pretty sure it happened about two weeks ago because I can feel it—that specific twinge in one ovary, then a little bit in the other. One side always hits harder than the other. Even now, I get these occasional aches and that distinct sensation like my period is just around the corner, though I've never felt it this early before. On top of that, there's this intermittent nausea, a total aversion to the thought of food, some dizziness, and just feeling wiped out regardless of what time it is or how much I've rested. It feels exactly like how I felt during my first pregnancy... 😕
Which test did you use? Did you go with one of those expensive ones or just a standard one?

For as long as I can remember, my cycles have been completely unpredictable. There were times when I wouldn't see a period for two or three months straight. I previously tried birth control pills to regulate things, but the side effects were so unbearable that I eventually decided to stop altogether. Since then, my partner and I haven't been using any protection—we essentially rely on "luck" at this point. 😁
I’m currently on day ten of my cycle, but everything seems to have stalled, and I feel like the symptoms are all hitting me at once. Based on what I’ve been reading here, I’m starting to notice similar signs in myself. It’s entirely possible these are just psychosomatic reactions, but I can't shake the feeling. For one, my ovaries are aching slightly—though that might just be from catching a chill since the weather has been miserable lately and I haven't been dressing warmly enough. More strangely, for two nights in a row, I had an intense, irrational craving for warm ketchup and eggs 😁. My sister even asked if I was coming down with something because I’ve been sneezing every day. A few days ago, my lunch tasted bizarre to me, and now, after reading that some women experience a slight fever, I feel like my face is burning up. 🙂
I know I really ought to go pick up a pregnancy test, but I’m hesitant to waste money on it. I’ve already gone to the doctor twice for blood work, and both times the results were negative. It is perfectly plausible that I am simply imagining all of this, yet there is a persistent nagging sensation in the back of my mind that something is different this time.

You don't even need to rush out and grab a high-end beta test right this second. Honestly, just pick up one of those more affordable ones, like a basic pregnancy strip, which are usually $10...and I’ll probably be heading out to grab one myself in the next few days anyway 🙂

Quick question for everyone; I’ve noticed quite a few women mentioning that their very first symptoms felt identical to standard PMS—you know, that heavy, tender feeling in your breasts, some abdominal cramping, and that nagging sensation like your period is just about to arrive at any second... what I'm really curious about is how long that specific sensation lasted for you all. That "pre-period" feeling? And did it stick around even after you got the news that you were actually pregnant?

To give you a bit of context, my first experience was a little strange; I had what I initially thought was just a period, though looking back, it was more like light spotting since it was incredibly sparse and only lasted about three or four days, whereas my usual cycle is quite heavy and lasts a full week. Then, about a week after everything settled down, those familiar cramps returned, along with that sense of impending doom that your period is coming, plus the breast tenderness. On top of that, my stomach seems to have popped out, and it’s been staying that way for two weeks now... and since I’m naturally quite thin, it’s becoming pretty noticeable to anyone looking closely.
I realize that a baby bump shouldn't technically be visible this early on, but honestly... I'm just paying really close attention to what my body is telling me. 😁

I didn't rush to take a test at first because I was convinced it was just my period, but now, I'm starting to have my doubts.

Yeah, I definitely felt that sensation too, even after that major realization hit me 🙂
It’s entirely possible you were experiencing implantation bleeding; that was my first experience with it, and I remember feeling a bit bloated in my stomach as well... You should probably take a test now, since it should give you a clear answer by this point 🙂
And while you're at it, please give me some advice—how on earth did you manage to hold out for so long before finally taking a test? 😁😁

I have an exam coming up soon, so I am holding off on any testing until that is behind me. If I take a test now and it comes back positive, it is "goodbye" to my textbooks! I intend to be patient and simply wait. If I am indeed pregnant, we are looking at being roughly three weeks along by then 😁 I am so eager to meet this little one!!😍

Honestly, I can't even begin to describe it... it was just this whirlwind of different emotions, all these intense desires mixed with sudden fears, just everything hitting at once... I suppose that's why it took me so long to get to this point😁 I'm heading out to pick up a test today😍

Hey ladies!
So, me and my man have been grinding for about 13 months now with zero luck. My period is usually pretty predictable, but it fluctuates—sometimes it’s 28 days, sometimes 30, once even hit 34.
The thing is, for the last two cycles, I was *positive* I was pregnant. I had every single symptom in the book, and my period showed up right on day 30. Fast forward to today: I'm at day 36, feeling absolutely nothing. I took a test two days ago (day 34) and it was negative as hell. Don't worry, I'll run more tests. I'm just sharing this so you guys see how much symptoms can play tricks on you. It doesn't always mean what you think it means. Seriously, just take the tests. Stop driving yourselves crazy trying to analyze every little ache and pain; once you Google all the possible pregnancy symptoms, you'll start imagining you have them all. Trust me, I learned that the hard way. Hopefully, I'll be the ultimate success story if it happens this month. Fingers crossed for everyone out there hoping to conceive—may you get that positive result and stick around for the full nine months. 😁

P.S.—my bad for the novel.

Yeah, seriously. For once, I’m actually skipping the whole "aching breasts and bloated stomach" routine I deal with every single month. Weird, right?🤷

Hello everyone
I usually find myself lurking or offering commentary rather than throwing out questions, but I find myself at a bit of a crossroads today and could use some perspective 😁.
To give you the full picture: my husband and I have been planning for our second child, though we weren't aiming for anything until the end of the year. Based on my last period—which was somewhere around July 8th or 11th, if my fading memory serves me right (I suppose I'm getting a bit senile 😂)—I did some math and figured my next cycle should arrive around August 9th or 11th. We haven't been using any protection since then, and I’ve spent the last few weeks just waiting, watching the calendar, but nothing has happened. It's already August 23rd, and there’s still no sign of my period, though I've been feeling quite bloated for days now
.
I took a home pregnancy test yesterday afternoon using an Intim Plus, but the result was negative 😕. Now, I’m spiraling a little. I can't help but wonder if my old issues with PCOS—the cysts I dealt with before my first pregnancy—have decided to make a comeback. Or, perhaps more likely, my ovulation was simply delayed, meaning my fertile window shifted later than I anticipated, and I might have tested too early 😕.

I honestly don't know what to make of this. The most logical step would be to check if my husband's schedule has cleared up after his vacation, but I wanted to ask if anyone here has dealt with significantly shifted ovulation or the return of ovarian cysts following childbirth? I'm also wondering about the reliability of testing this early, especially since I'm already past day 40
.

Hey ladies... I have a quick question for you all...

Is it actually possible for breast soreness to kick in about a week after conception, linger for seven days, and then just... stop? Has anyone else dealt with something like that?

The thing is, my period is already six days late. My breasts were aching intensely for about a week straight, but I haven't bothered with a pregnancy test yet because I keep telling myself it's just coming any minute. It's just that this specific pain is a bit unsettling... they never usually hurt like this.
