Lawrence Carter42 said:Hey ladies... I have a quick question for you all...

Is it actually possible for breast soreness to kick in about a week after conception, linger for seven days, and then just... stop? Has anyone else dealt with something like that?

The thing is, my period is already six days late. My breasts were aching intensely for about a week straight, but I haven't bothered with a pregnancy test yet because I keep telling myself it's just coming any minute. It's just that this specific pain is a bit unsettling... they never usually hurt like this.

Well, looking back at my own experience during early pregnancy, I didn't experience any swelling or tenderness at all initially; it didn't even kick in until much later, and even then, the discomfort would flare up and then subside repeatedly. There really isn't a universal rule for how these things manifest, but to answer your question—yes, it is certainly possible.

I figured I’d jump into this thread too—mostly just to vent a little because my period is running late. It’s only been three days, granted, but still... it’s late. Usually, things arrive right on schedule or even a bit early, though I did have one instance about eight or nine months ago where it was five days behind. My ovulation seemed to happen a bit later this cycle than usual, so I’m thinking maybe everything is just shifted back and I might get it any day now. Then again, there’s always that possibility of being pregnant, though I honestly can't recall if we were being perfectly consistent with protection every single time.
I’m definitely going to pick up a test, though I didn't grab one today because my husband and I got into a bit of a disagreement over it. He thinks I'm just wasting money on tests and is convinced I'm not pregnant.

Ugh, I honestly don't even know if I'm in the right place, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask—since when it comes to "how to tell if you're pregnant," I am a total idiot 🙈, and I’m holding off on taking a test until I'm sure it won't be too early and give me some bogus false negative (I'm already 5 days late)

So, here's the deal...

Two days after my period was supposed to start, I finally saw a tiny bit of spotting—just a few pinkish drops (usually it's more brownish, but hey, blood is blood)—and since that's how it usually kicks off for me, I went ham on the Advil because those typical cramps have been killing me for a day or two now, so I wasn't even doubting it was just my cycle starting

Then this morning, I woke up and there was absolutely nothing, not even a drop (and my flow is normally pretty decent), but I figured maybe it would just pick up later in the day...
It didn't show up at all by this afternoon, and it's been three days since then (even though those pains are still hanging around)

I've been reading up on spotting and implantation bleeding, and this feels like it might fall into that category, but I don't have any other symptoms besides my usual PMS crap... I know a test is the only way to get a real answer, but I'm gonna wait another day or two before grabbing one—so in the meantime, if anyone out there has dealt with similar weird aches, please drop some smart 😬

Well, my husband was actually right—we would have just been throwing money down the drain on a test... 😁

I had spotting... just enough light bleeding to make me think that this time wasn't going to be anything
pregnancy-related... but I was totally wrong... for me, the tests always showed a positive a couple of days before my period actually arrived.
So, if you're already five days late, you can honestly just go ahead and take one now... as far as symptoms go, I didn't really feel anything at first...
all I felt was this constant sensation like I was about to leak at any moment, and my stomach was cramping just like it does right before my period starts.

I could really use some advice here. My boyfriend and I had sex back on August 22nd—he finished inside—and my last period started on August 8th. Everything feels totally off this month. I’ve been dealing with random dizzy spells, some light nausea, and that weird feeling like my period is coming—even though it’s still two weeks early. Well, I actually just started today, but it's not really "bleeding" per se... it’s more like this brownish discharge you usually see at the very end of a cycle. It isn't super painful either, which is odd because my periods are usually brutal. Has anyone else dealt with symptoms like this while being pregnant? Should I go ahead and take a test?

I can’t really speak from my own experience—but I can tell you what happened to one of my closest friends. She had a period that was delayed by about 18 days, right near the end of her cycle. Even though she was absolutely certain she wasn't pregnant, she went on for three months thinking everything was normal. Now, her little one is already three years old.

Just go ahead and take a test...

I would suggest taking a test as well, especially since so many women report experiencing false readings. Based on the dates you provided, you were sleeping right on the 14th day after your period began, which—assuming your cycle is regular—would be your peak fertile window.

To be clear, my reasoning for doing this is simply to stop the constant worrying, or perhaps to have some actual data to bring to my OB-GYN to figure out what is actually going on...

So, two of my girlfriends actually had this brownish spotting as an early sign they were pregnant, and I've been seeing people talk about it on all the pregnancy forums too... it's usually just old blood leaving the system. Honestly, I really think you might be expecting, you should definitely go grab a test and find out!

I’ve been on the pill for about eighteen months now,
and I figured I’d finish this month's supply and then we'll just rely on other methods.
I actually missed my dose for two days—well, I forgot the first day, and yesterday was more intentional.
Based on my math, those were exactly my most fertile days... and right then... oh boy!! 🙂
So, I have a few pills left, but I don't think I should keep taking them... because if we actually managed to conceive 🙂
my friend says I shouldn't mess things up, if you know what I mean...
I'm really hoping for a positive result! 🙂

There is definitely a chance you could be pregnant—my cousin went through the exact same thing and conceived—but I am genuinely confused... do you actually want a baby? 😕, or are you trying to surprise your partner by making this happen behind their back? 😛

Honestly, what’s the point of all these precautions and shields...
The other day, I mentioned I forgot, and he just said, "No big deal."
But yesterday... I didn't take it... and he knows that... he did it on purpose, I guess.
I mean, since we haven't had sex since the day before yesterday, and those were my fertile days, there really isn't much sense
in me continuing to take it.
Since we've discussed it, it would be absolutely wonderful to have a little one! 🙂
So yeah... we both would be just so incredibly thrilled if we saw a positive test. 😍

I honestly suspect not—I mean, if you’ve only got a few pills left in the pack, then ovulation likely already happened.
..
but hey, miracles do happen sometimes, I suppose😍

that was actually exactly what I was going to say, since I was on them about three years ago—back when there was all that drama surrounding the birth control supply issues here in the States—and I missed a dose once too, and nothing happened at all.

you'll likely just get your period tomorrow if you don't start taking them again.
