I was just checking, and besides all those days I missed, I have 6 pills leftβ€”well, maybe 5 if I don't count yesterday since I didn't take one then either.
Based on everything, I think I was fertile...
Thank you all so much for everything!

I mean, you really can't get pregnant if you were on the pill up until your ovulation window and then just stopped. The whole point of birth control is that it prevents ovulation and stops those eggs from maturing from the very first day of your period, so missing a pill around day 14 probably doesn't change much. I guess, theoretically speaking, there might be some tiny statistical chance, but we’re talking about something that would likely be measured in fractions of a percent.

So my coworker sitting right next to me
actually forgot one dose of her birth control and ended up pregnant... I guess that's possible? How does that even happen?

I don't know. To be honest, all those stories about getting pregnant while on birth control have always sounded pretty incredible to me. I mean, maybe there's some tiny, theoretical chance out there somewhere, but it seems like such a stretch, I guess.

Yes. I haven't quite figured out how many women have actually ended up pregnant like this yet.
I suppose I haven't had a drink in three days now, even though I was drinking pretty regularly before.
My fertile window was during these last two days, though.
So, you guys don't think there's even a theoretical chance?

Well, I suppose in some abstract, purely theoretical sense, maybe... but if we're talking about how things actually play out in the real world, I honestly have my doubts.

When you're on the pill, you can't really track "fertile windows" because those don't exist in the same wayβ€”you just never truly know. And regarding your cycle, if you're on birth control, you still count everything from the first day of your period, not from the day you started the pack (unless it's your very first month taking them). I'm not 100% certain, but I believe the biggest risk factor is missing a pill during that first week of the pack (definitely double-check the instructions in the box). If you don't get your period within a week, there's a possibility you might be pregnant...

So, I guess I shouldn't expect my period to be around 2.10 like if I
had kept taking the birth control pills,
but I should probably see it happen sometime these next few days, right?
Hmm... well, it's been about 5 days since my last dose, so we'll just have to wait and see....
Oh my gosh, please share anything you know! Thanks so much in advance!πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

I actually mentioned to her just yesterday or the day before that she’d be getting her period soon, because once you stop taking birth control, it usually shows up about two to five days after that last pill. So even if you only skip two pills, you'll see it within a few days. And honestly, if you're planning on trying for a baby, it's probably best to give your body a few months to clear out the hormones and let everything get back to its natural balance again.

I suppose you can find some comfort in the idea that you might fall pregnant right away since you stopped taking the pill, though I personally ended up getting pregnant just two months after I quit😍

I mean, come on, at least now you can actually run some basic research and get your ducks in a row before the whole pregnancy thing kicks off and life gets crazy... πŸ™‚

hey! help meeeee please! πŸ™‚
my period is already 14 days late. I've been needing to pee constantly, and cigarettes have suddenly become totally revolting to meβ€”I used to smoke a pack a day, but now I can barely look at one. Honestly, before my morning cigarette, I was basically a walking hazard to myself and everyone else πŸ™‚. I've got this daily stabbing pain low in my abdomen, and there's just this weird, unsettling sensation all day long. Plus, for a few nights in a row, I've been waking up wide awake on my own, usually right before dawn, and I just can't drift back to sleep... some days I feel like I could eat everything in sight, and other days the mere thought of food makes me nauseous. My mood swings are so intense lately that people literally get out of my way :P. Oh, and there's been this whitish-yellow discharge for the last week...
If my boyfriend hadn't asked when I was due, I wouldn't have even realized it was late πŸ™‚. He talked me into picking up an Intuit test this afternoon, and it came back negative!! NOOOO!!! 😒 (even though we were both getting excited about a little stinky baby, despite not really planning for one! hmmm so should I try testing again in a few days if my period still doesn't show up?

btw I want a plusssssss!!!! πŸ™‚

Thinking about picking up an Intuit test and taking it tomorrow morning... I had sex about a week and a half ago, and my period is already four days late... Just wondering if it’s too soon for a testβ€”will it actually give me a real answer?πŸ˜•

Are your cycles usually regular? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but after a two-week delay, a test shouldn't give a false negative. However, it is possible you ovulated later than usual. If I were you, I'd test again in a few days. If it's still negative and your period hasn't arrived, see a gynecologist; a cyst could be causing the delay.

I don't quite follow... πŸ˜• in most cases, ovulation occurs roughly 14 days before menstruation, which is when you need to have sex if you want to conceive. You're saying you're late, but the intercourse was 10 days ago, meaning it was 6 days before your expected period.

Of course, it's possible ovulation was delayed. Wait until 14 days have passed since the last unprotected encounter and then there won't be any doubt about the results. It's possible you might get a positive earlier, but if it's negative, you can't be sure because it might just be too early.

So, I had sex three times about 10 days agoβ€”all with a condom... and those were actually my first times ever... My period was supposed to show up last Saturday, but nothing. Now I have zero clue why I'm four days late πŸ˜•
I mean, we used protection and it was probably my non-fertile window since my cycle is pretty consistentβ€”usually 28 to 31 days
But if I somehow ended up pregnant after all that, I'm screwed 😠
I just want to take a test because I'm completely tripping out... just need to rule one thing out

The chance of you being pregnant is minimal. I would have said your period is late due to the stress of worrying about pregnancy. Just take a test 14 days after the encounter; your period will probably show up the same afternoon you finally feel relieved that you aren't pregnant. That is usually how it goes...

Thanks for the advice. I was originally planning to wait 14 days after the encounter, but then I read that this Victoria's Secret test is meant for early detectionβ€”so I figured it might give me a pretty solid answer right now... hoping it's just stress πŸ™„
