Nancy Murphy2 said:Hey ladies...

I don't really know who else to bug, so here I am again. I'll try to lay out my timeline properly. Last period started on November 14th. Usually, my cycle fluctuates anywhere from 21 to 32 days, though lately, since starting hormone therapy, it's been more like 26 to 28 days. We had some unprotected encounters on Nov 13th, then the 20th and 21st, plus Nov 28th and Dec 3rd. A few days ago—specifically Dec 4th and 5th—I felt this weird pressure in my bladder. Then, from Dec 6th until right now, I’ve been dealing with calf aches, bloating, and those heavy cramps that feel just like my period is coming... plus I'm incredibly restless and just exhausted.
I finally snapped this morning and took an Intimate test... and it came back NEGATIVE. If I'm basing it on a 28-day cycle, my period isn't supposed to show up until Saturday or Sunday, maybe Dec 11th or 12th. PLEASE tell me if it's too early for the test to catch anything or if there's zero chance I'm pregnant or... ? Someone help me out...

Look, a negative test two days before your period is due doesn't mean anything for sure. It might still be too soon. If nothing happens by Sunday, take another one. By then, the results should actually mean something. Hang in there—I'm crossing my fingers for you to get the result you want! 😍

Thanks so much Rebecca Vaughn7... I'll check back in once I know what's up.

Well, here I am again... I was recently mentioning that bit of light spotting I had, which I thought might have been implantation bleeding, given how things were looking at the time. But honestly, it felt far too early to even think about taking a test. Now, it feels like maybe the timing is finally right. Though, with my cycles being so unpredictable lately, I can barely keep track of my own math—I feel like a confused teenager just trying to figure out a calendar 😁 My last period started on November 14th, which makes it exactly a month ago today. Usually, my cycle runs somewhere between 30 and 35 days, though last month was a bit of an outlier at only 24 days, which definitely threw me for a loop. Anyway, without getting too bogged down in the weeds, do you all think it’s a good time to take a test now, or should I hold off a little longer?

On top of that, I've been feeling quite strange these past few days; I have this constant, nagging urge to eat. It isn't exactly nausea, nor is it pain, and it doesn't feel like indigestion or anything... it's just this odd sensation that I can't quite put into words. The only way to make it go away is to grab a snack or something to nibble on 😁 but as soon as I stop eating, that sensation just creeps right back in... and it's making it pretty tough to get a good night's sleep. Has anyone else experienced something similar, and do you think there could be any connection to pregnancy? 😕🤷

If that spotting really was implantation bleeding, then it isn't too early for a test.
And that constant need to snack can definitely happen in early pregnancy. Just take the test and let us know how it goes. Good luck! 👍

My period is running three days late. Honestly, my breasts are so sore they feel like they’re about to explode... if nothing shows up in another two or three days, I'm just going to go ahead and take a pregnancy test. 😬

Hi everyone, I was wondering if any of you ladies have dealt with a spike in basal body temperature during those very early stages of pregnancy?? It’s a bit out of character for me because my cycles are usually incredibly predictable... I’ve never had one run more than a day late, but this time I’m already about six days behind schedule. I actually took a home test the day before yesterday, but it came back negative, which was a little discouraging. To make matters more confusing, I’ve been running a higher temperature than usual for over ten days now.

Honestly, same here... part of me desperately wants to see that plus sign, but there's this underlying fear of 😍 what actually happens next once it's real. 🙂

If I may offer a little bit of advice, I think it might be best to just wait and try another test in a few days. In my own experience, my temperature jumped up almost immediately after conception, and I remember having these sudden chills in the evening. Interestingly enough, my first test didn't show a positive result, but when I tried again seven days later, it was 🙂

Wishing you all the best,

Thanks, I’m really crossing my fingers for a positive result... though I have to admit, I’m feeling a little thrown off by these cramps; they feel so much like period pains, just a bit more muted than usual... 🙂

Ladies, I am actually going to lose my mind!!!
...after what felt like an endless, exhausting marathon of "negotiations," my husband and I finally had our first unprotected encounter two weeks ago... then about a week later, I started running to the bathroom every five minutes just to pee three drops, my appetite went totally haywire—I’ve been eating like there’s no tomorrow—and lately, I’ve been checking my temperature constantly, and it’s consistently sitting at a weirdly high 99.5 F... so naturally, I started spiraling. On top of all that, the day before yesterday, I started getting these intense pains—sometimes on the left, sometimes on the right—and trust me, my usual period cramps don't feel anything like this... honestly, with everything happening, I was convinced I might be pregnant, but I figured I couldn't even take a test for another 4 or 5 days. Well, I went out this morning and grabbed a Clearblue, and wouldn't you know it... the + came back as an 8) ... so I did another one, just to be absolutely certain, using a Grainger test, and it showed a faint, but definitely visible, line!!! So, I AM PREGNANT!!! I need to get to my OBGYN immediately!!!
...sorry for the massive vent, I just really needed to share this with someone other than my husband, and I've heard it's not wise to tell anyone we know until we're at least 6 or 7 weeks along, and I'm not even at week 2 yet!!!
Ugh, now I'm just freaking out about the whole situation!!! I just hope this little plus sign sticks... hopefully my husband did his job right!!! 😁

I used a Grainger test once too, but it was negative two days before my period was due, and then on the actual day of my period, it showed a very, very faint line.. 😁
I waited a week and took it again, and the lines were as clear as day..
Fingers crossed that you are pregnant and that everything turns out perfectly! 😉

Congratulations! Just take a breath, calm down, and try to enjoy this. Unless you have severe pain or bleeding, there is no reason to rush to the doctor right this second. They won't be able to see anything clearly until you're about three weeks after your missed period (which is roughly 7 weeks pregnant, since they count from the first day of your last period), so there's no real rush. Just give them a call and schedule an appointment.

Thank you so much!!! ... You’re actually only the second person in the whole world to congratulate me... besides my best friend... Honestly, the hardest part is that I haven't even dared to tell my parents yet—and we both know nobody would be more thrilled than them once they find out... but I'm just a little terrified that something might go wrong. It’s still such early stages, and I don't want them to have to deal with any heartbreak if, God forbid, reality hits me with a setback...
...so, as happy as I am about this big positive result, it’s pure agony being at my mom's house every day and not telling her she’s going to be a grandma... though my husband and I made a plan. We aren't visiting the in-laws until after New Year's, but I'll take another test the day before Christmas—hoping for another positive, of course—and then we'll share the news with everyone during the holidays... or is that pushing it too far? ...maybe waiting until after the OB-GYN appointment is the smarter move?

I want to say congratulations on that positive test, too.😍

If I were in your shoes, I’d probably just mention to the grandparents that you think you might be pregnant and that you're waiting on confirmation from the doctor😬 in a casual way... though personally, I would definitely head straight to the clinic to get my bloodwork done as soon as possible.😍

...thanks... 😁
...but I really don't want to rush to the doctor yet because you can't even see the gestational sac until about a week after your period is late... and you won't even hear a heartbeat until maybe 6 or 7 weeks...
...I'm not sure if I mentioned this already, but my cycle is anywhere from 30 to 34 days (which is a nightmare!) so that means I shouldn't even expect my period for another week or two... my ovulation happened way before the middle of my cycle, and now the test is showing positive... thank God!!! Now, I just need it to actually stick until at least a week "after" when my period was supposed to show up (and then finally go meet the little secret 😉) ...and only then will I make an appointment... what would the doctor even show me on an ultrasound if I went in right now? 🤷
...honestly, after spending way too much time sniffing around various websites and forums, I figured the smartest move for now would be to just stay calm and wait until that week after my missed period passes... 😕

...but there is some truth to what you said, even if it's just going in for the blood test... that might actually be a smart call... but who knows, I'm just lost at sea here... I guess it's pretty obvious that this is the first positive test I've ever seen in my life... 😁

Don't go to the doctor just yet... mine were also around 30 to 35 days, and when I went in for an ultrasound at 6 weeks, they could only see the gestational sac; the embryo wasn't visible yet, which left me stressing out at home for ten whole days wondering if everything was okay.... my next appointment wasn't until the 7-week mark, and that's when we finally saw the embryo and that little flickering heartbeat....

Going for an exam before 7 weeks is just too early.

I am quite uncertain if I have selected the appropriate topic for discussion here, but I find myself in need of some guidance regarding a rather unsettling situation. To provide context, I have been taking Yaz contraceptive pills for approximately eleven months now; I have generally been quite diligent with my regimen, though I did experience a lapse at the beginning of December when I neglected my evening dose and subsequently took it the following morning. Shortly after this inconsistency, my partner and I had intercourse, during which he ejaculated inside me on two separate occasions. For the past few days, I have been feeling rather peculiar—my breasts are tender, and I am experiencing a thick discharge that carries a persistent, unpleasant odor. Given that my period isn't expected until around the 25th or 26th, is there any realistic possibility that I could be pregnant? Thank you.😢

How many of them did you take before you realized you forgot to actually swallow the pill?

It happened to me once right in the middle of my cycle, but I didn't have any issues or anything.
