So, I have a bit of a question, and I could really use some clarity on this... since I can never quite figure out how to accurately calculate my fertile window—you know, those specific days when pregnancy is actually possible...
I see one thing online saying it’s just a single day in the entire month, while somewhere else it says it's five days before and after that peak day... honestly, it’s always been such a confusing mess for me to wrap my head around...🤷🤷🤷🤷🤷

Going for an exam before 7 weeks is just too early.

...there is also that whole thing with tracking your basal body temperature and keeping a chart... basically, you take your temp every single morning from the start of your cycle and log it... (once you hit ovulation, your temp should jump up from its lowest point)... you'd have to do this for a few months—which might be too long for some people ☕—and then you can look at the graph to see when your temp peaks, which signals ovulation...😁
...plus, there are ovulation predictor kits, and then there's Maybe Baby, or even those little microscopes where you can check your saliva to spot the fertile window... they go for about $30 or so...
...that's pretty much my area of expertise... 😍...otherwise, I wouldn't even know what I was talking about...

Basal body temperature only starts rising AFTER ovulation has already happened. So, by the time you see that jump, ovulation has likely already passed, meaning you're entering your infertile window. That said, it’s probably most reliable to keep tracking after that first spike, since it takes about three consecutive high temperatures to confirm ovulation occurred (which is how the charts on Fertility apps typically log it).
In any case, regarding the OP's questions about fertile versus infertile days, I’d suggest she spend some time looking through the Fertility resources online; it would probably make everything much clearer.

I simply cannot decide if I should face the anxiety of purchasing a test right now, or if it would be more prudent to wait seven days just to see if I end up receiving my m🤷

Even though we aren't actively trying to conceive right now—since we still have some big life milestones to settle, like our wedding and finding the right house—my partner told me tonight how incredibly happy he would be if I were pregnant, and now, suddenly, I want it even more than before. 😍 I mean, I always knew he’d be thrilled, but now I’ve found myself swept up in all these emotions again... 🙄
I think I'll finally head out to buy a test tomorrow... I know that's the only way to truly clear my head. But part of me just wants someone to tell me I'm not losing my mind or imagining things entirely.
To give you some context, I was explaining in my previous posts why I started suspecting something might be happening. First off, I had about three days of very light spotting—just a bit of pinkish discharge—which sounded exactly like what people describe as implantation bleeding, and the timing seemed to line up perfectly. After those three days, everything down there felt completely normal again.
Then, over the last ten days or so, I’ve had this constant, nagging urge to snack on something... the moment I stop eating, I get hit with this intense hunger and a strange sensation in my stomach, almost as if I haven't eaten all day. It’s even been keeping me awake at night! And normally, I'm not much of a glutton; I tend to eat quite moderately, sometimes even too little, which is probably why I'm only around 110 pounds. 😁
I wouldn't say I'm experiencing classic morning sickness, but rather this vague, undefined feeling in my stomach... it's a little uncomfortable, but not quite to the point where I feel like I'm going to be sick.
My period is also about a week late now. My cycle can be pretty irregular quite often, so being late isn't necessarily a huge sign on its own, but when you combine it with everything else, I can't help but wonder...
Lately, my abdomen has been cramping like I'm about to start my period any second, but from what I've read, many women report similar sensations during early pregnancy.
And I don't know if this is totally irrelevant, but for the past ten days, my right nipple has been itching intermittently 🤣 about 90% of the time. The left one only does it occasionally, and they never seem to itch at the exact same time.
So, please tell me, am I just being completely delusional, or is there a genuine chance that I could be pregnant??
I promise, I'll take the test before the Yule log 😁😉
