Rebecca Vaughn7 said:Alright, itโ€™s time for me to start playing doctor and imagining symptoms, so...

Question for the group. I'm noticing a weird smell in my urine during PMSโ€”no signs of an infection, obviously (just the usual bloating and all that fun stuff)โ€”and my breasts have been sore almost since ovulation (never this early before)...plus mild cramping starting around 6 DPO (also never this early)...and my temperature occasionally hits 98.2ยฐF accompanied by chills (it usually stays under 97.7ยฐF)....thereโ€™s no spotting (which usually happens)...but that smell is what's really killing me. I could try to write off everything else as wishful thinking or something else, but not this.
Based on my cycle, my period might show up in 3-7 days. We covered all the fertile days.
Should I keep hoping and counting down the days until the test, or just comfort myself with food like I always do? ๐Ÿ˜•

Oh, and yeah... I haven't eaten any asparagus. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

and honestly, I've been shivering for a few days now too!

But what on earth does asparagus have to do with anything? ๐Ÿ™ˆ

When you eat asparagus, your pee smells like absolute garbage.๐Ÿคฎ So, I immediately wanted to rule that out as a possible cause via differential diagnosis ๐Ÿ˜

Anyway, I went out and bought a test. Just the cheapest one, $7.00, some Sign Test thing. I flat-out refuse to go pee all over $27 just to water them with my tears and then toss them in the trash. I'd much rather spend that money on chocolate.

So now the test is just sitting on my shelf. It stares at me, and I stare back at it.

It's too early, dammitโ€”itโ€™s only December 18th. Even if my cycle takes 21 days this month, it's still way too early.

If it doesn't show up by Monday (which shouldn't happenโ€”if it does, my cycle is totally screwed), then I'm testing.

I actually had no idea about the asparagus thingโ€”thatโ€™s news to me. I remember having them once while I was traveling through Europe, but I didn't notice anything weird with my urine, though maybe I was just too drunk to notice.๐Ÿคฃ

Hey ladies... honestly, the absolute worst part is those four days when you just *know* it's coming. You're just sitting there, waiting for it to finally show up so you can stop guessing. ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜

Hoping against hope until the very last second...

I've reached that point where I'm scouring the internet to see if excessive, uh, windiness is actually an early symptom. ๐Ÿ™ˆ What's even worse is that it says it's...

Crap, I just realized I totally missed the right thread ๐Ÿ˜

I mean, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna end up with ๐Ÿ™‚

And honestly, just a heads-upโ€”there are like, 20 different symptoms that might show up, or maybe they won't... I guess it's just random. A friend of mine was trying for a baby and she had all these symptoms every single month. Then one weekend she went out, had a few drinks since, you know, she figured she wasn't pregnant anyway, and now? She doesn't have a single symptom, but turns out she actually is. You know how it goes ๐Ÿ˜‰

Rebecca Vaughn7, it just finally clicked for me that you might actually be thinking about getting pregnant. ๐Ÿ˜

At first, I was under the impression you weren't really looking to ๐Ÿ™‚ But anyway... what I was trying to get at is that you can never truly know ๐Ÿ™‚
Either wayโ€”I'm crossing my fingers for you and really hope everything works out exactly how you want it to. Sorry about the mix-up ๐Ÿ™‚

It's all good! You didn't say anything bad ๐Ÿ˜ And thanks!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh, I want it... god, I want it so bad... Like I said, I'm taking the test on Monday. Dammit, these breasts are killing me... I just need to know if I can finally stop living on painkillers...

Ugh, man... Iโ€™m actually expecting mine tomorrow. My main PMS symptom is definitely insomnia. Yeah, yeah... just that. ๐Ÿ™‚ It happens exactly two nights before my period starts. But I haven't slept since Sunday... I mean, I don't even know what to tell you, I've got dark circles under my eyes, I feel totally sluggish, and my brain is just foggyโ€”but I still can't sleep. Plus, I've had these light cramps for five days now, so I am seriously just counting down the minutes until it finally starts... ๐Ÿ˜

Wait, so you aren't even due for yours until Monday?

I might get it this Monday, or maybe anytime up until next Monday since my cycles fluctuate between 21 and 31 days...๐Ÿ˜  But honestly, based on the breast tenderness Iโ€™ve been dealing with since day 16, and the fact that my last few cycles have been shortโ€”only about 21 or 22 daysโ€”Iโ€™m counting on Monday.

We really went all out this month, and we're actually hoping... ugh, I am going to absolutely lose it when it finally shows up. ๐Ÿ˜ข

Oh, right... insomnia is a huge PMS symptom for me too. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ It usually hits a night or two before my period starts. Thatโ€™s how I know, without fail, that it's coming.

But hey, if it happens and things don't go your way... just keep your chin up. On to the next mission ๐Ÿ™‚

Sooo... btw, I'm struggling with insomnia too. Why on earth does it last so long? I guess maybe I've fried my brain from all the late-night scrolling ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Pusa!๐Ÿ™‚ And good luck ๐Ÿ™‚

I am honestly losing my mind right now... Iโ€™ve been strictly following my birth control regimen, yet my period is late, and Iโ€™ve been dealing with this light spotting for three days straight. Every single thing I search for online points toward this being one of the top five early signs of pregnancy, which is just terrifying. Has anyone else dealt with this exact situation or had any similar experiences?๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•๐Ÿ˜•

You actually have two different threads dedicated specifically to symptom discussions; just scroll further down the board.

Hey everyone.
My name is Matthew Nguyen10.
I was just browsing another forum earlier and, honestly, I feel completely drained from the whole experience...
People are absolutely out of their minds with the way they crack jokes about this stuff..
What if people are too young for a relationship and they end up together and face consequences? Thereโ€™s no way to "scare" them out of it. It would be just as absurd as someone here trying to scare a parent away from their own child instead of realizing they could easily find themselves in that exact same situationโ€”but look, that's not why I'm here right now.
Now I'm just sitting here terrified, wondering if Iโ€™ll be met with the same kind of hostility when I post here..
Though I doubt it; not every corner of the internet is as toxic as that other place...

So, hereโ€™s the deal..
Iโ€™m here because I need to hear some perspectives, get some advice... basically anything to help me stop spiraling..
Last night, my boyfriend and I were supposed to have sex. We hadn't been together for seven long months, but we finally made up, and so, yeah... we were going to go for it, but I wasn't ready for full intercourse yet. We were just pleasuring each otherโ€”him with me and me with himโ€”and he finished in his underwear since he hadn't put a condom on yet. After he finished in his clothes, he put on a condom, and we spent a little time just being intimate... he wanted to actually have penetrative sex, but I wasn't having it. It was just constant back-and-forth, like, "come on, come on..." I told him, "Change that condom first, then we can keep being intimate," but I still didn't want him inside me. He changed the condom and was just rubbing against meโ€”how do I even describe it? Just sliding against the tip, but not actually entering me because it hurts me terribly. Then, the condom snapped somewhere in the middle. I realized what happened and pulled away from him immediately, and thatโ€™s when the real panic set in. Even though he finished in his clothes and we did change the condom once or twice... I am just so incredibly worried right now....
Nothing bad has ever happened to us before... I truly don't want something terrible to happen now, especially not through such an accidental, seemingly harmless encounter... we didn't even have actual intercourse.

Please, tell me there's no reason to worry. I am already planning to take a test and go see my gynecologist for a consultation... but I'm going so crazy that I'm starting to imagine symptoms that aren't even there.
My period just ended..
It's been six days since it finished, and I'm due for my next one in about 17 days, and I seriously cannot take this anymore...
I can't stop thinking about it...

Everywhere I read on these forums, people say things like, "Oh, you only need a tiny bit of contact to get pregnant," or "Just a little bit of this is enough..."
Give me a break..
If that were true, I'd be totally pregnant then..
I don't know what to do...
Please, tell me something positive.

Best regards.

Theoretically, it's possible, but practically speaking, I find it highly unlikely you'd get pregnant given that there wasn't any penetration or ejaculation near your genitals. A basic rule of thumb is that after a man ejaculates, urinating helps flush out any remaining sperm. If you're truly this terrified, you might want to look into emergency contraception...

Look, don't sweat it. Getting pregnant isn't exactly as easy as people make it out to be. I used to freak out about the same stuffโ€”always thinking, "what if??" But you can relax, especially if he didn't go deep. Youโ€™ll get your period, everything will turn out fine. Just take this as a lesson learned and be a bit more careful with protection from now on. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It would be a straight-up miracle if you actually conceived!
And regarding that bolded partโ€”it is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to wash away sperm by peeing!!!!
The urethra and everything else are separate systems in women; so even if he finishes inside you and you go take a leak under a heavy stream, those sperm are still right where they were.
