Jerry Bailey47 said:Where on earth did you get that from? It’s just not right—the later you run the test (specifically regarding the relationship), the higher the probability of accuracy.

My last time was over a month ago. My period has completely vanished... I didn't even use a tampon overnight, and by morning, there wasn't a single drop. I'm heading straight to CVS right after work to grab a test. Then I'll finally have my answer. 🙂 I've been falling down rabbit holes on various forums lately, reading every single thing imaginable about pregnancy, and honestly, it's overwhelming. I was talking to my sister about it last night, and she just laughed when I told her I needed to wait for my next cycle before testing. She once took two tests totally at random without waiting for her period, and they both came back positive—my little boys are living proof of that. 😉

I mean, you could still take a test if you're really that preoccupied with sex. If it comes back positive, you should probably show someone after all this time 🤷

My period started back up at work today, 🙂 even though I barely had any flow yesterday or through the night 😠. It’s driving me absolutely insane. My breasts are incredibly sore, and my stomach is constantly cramping—not exactly sharp pain, just this relentless, uncomfortable bloating. It’s typical for me during my cycle, but still exhausting. I was getting so desperate that I actually called my sister to get her OB-GYN's number, then reached out to the doctor directly to ask for advice. She basically told me to hold off until Monday when I can swing by her office so we can figure this out properly; she said there’s no point in throwing money away on tests right now if they aren't going to give me anything concrete. 🙂

I mean, honestly, if it were me, I’d just go ahead and buy the test right away and get it over with... 🤷

So, a friend hit me up asking for some advice, and honestly, I’m kind of stumped on how to even walk her through this situation. Basically, she ended up hooking up with her boyfriend on the fourth day of her period, and he finished inside her. She's mostly worried about the odds of getting pregnant since her flow wasn't even that heavy this time around. I guess there isn't really a simple answer, but I'm feeling pretty lost on what to tell her.

Well, I guess it really comes down to when she actually ovulates. Sperm can hang around inside the body for up to five days, so if her ovulation happens around day 8 or 9—given they had sex on day 4—conception is definitely on the table. Then again, some women just ovulate right on schedule, which would make the chances even higher, I suppose... 🤷 So, if she’s trying to avoid a baby, she probably made a bit of a mistake. But, if I wanted to be a little easier on her, maybe it's worth noting that not many women have cycles that erratic...

Back at it again🙂 I just finished running a big-scale test— 🙂 though I’m still trying to wrap my head around how reliable the results actually are. 🤷 To make matters worse, my doctor practically laughed in my face when I mentioned my period started and that I wanted to take a pregnancy test. She insisted that if I were pregnant, my cycle wouldn't have shown up right on schedule at all; she argued it would have been late, whereas according to my own tracking, my period actually arrived two days early. 😕

Why don't you just give your OB-GYN a call? It's not like you believe any of this anyway.

So you're saying there's a real chance she gets pregnant?! Can you even just walk into a CVS or Walgreens and buy emergency contraception over the counter these days without a prescription?! And does anyone know how much that stuff even costs?

I already reached out to a doctor through my sister, but I've got an appointment scheduled with my own physician this Monday to see if he can squeeze me in immediately. The catch is his schedule is incredibly limited—he's only in the office three days a week—and since he doesn't work Fridays, I'm playing a bit of a waiting game. If he can't fit me in, I'll just pivot to the doctor my sister recommended. Honestly, I am a total neurotic when it comes to health stuff; I have this tendency to spiral and imagine every possible worst-case scenario the moment I start taking action. This whole ordeal has been a massive wake-up call, acting as a harsh lesson that ensures I will never, ever consider unprotected sex again. I would much rather deal with the side effects of birth control once a month than ever have to relive this terrifying anxiety.🙂

Look, boldridge3, YOU ARE NOT PREGNANT. Honestly, reading through this thread sometimes makes me feel like I’m listening to a group of ten-year-olds asking these kinds of questions. 🙄It’s been far too long since your relationship ended for a test to give you a false positive—plus, you were dealing with your period anyway. There is zero reason to worry.

Can someone please weigh in here? I’ve got a friend who is basically a walking panic attack right now.
So, she had sex on the fourth day of her period, and he finished inside her. Her flow was pretty light the next day, and then it just kind of stopped altogether.
Do you think she should grab Plan B or something? Even though her doctor isn't seeing patients today, so getting an appointment at the local clinic might be a hassle, I guess... or maybe the chances are actually pretty slim
that she could get pregnant?! After he came, there was a fair amount of fluid leaking out, and there was plenty of blood on the pad. Then the whole thing just cut off the next day.
I honestly have no clue what I should even tell her. 🙂

Well, theoretically, yeah, it’s possible. But as for the morning-after pill... she really shouldn't just go out and grab it on her own. I mean, first off, no smart pharmacist at a CVS or Walgreens is going to just hand it over, and second, she really needs a prescription from her OB-GYN. They need to look at her medical history, her blood work, all that stuff... So, I guess the best bet is to call her doctor, tell them it's an emergency, and ask. But she probably only has a window of maybe 2 or 3 days...

By the way, maybe tell her that having sex during her period isn't exactly ideal. I don't mean because of the mess, but more about how sensitive everything is, the risk of bacteria, and being prone to infections... Things are just extra sensitive during that time...

Exactly! That's what I was trying to get through to her, but she just won't listen... 🤷 After a month and a half since the encounter, any test—unless it's totally broken—would show a positive result loud and clear. p.s. correct me if I'm wrong...😁

Raymond Mitchell probably isn't pregnant—but Mother Nature is a fickle, unpredictable bitch, so anything goes. Whatever she does, she shouldn't take that morning-after pill on a whim; > was right about that. Even if she rushes to an OB-GYN this Monday, they won't see a thing yet—I was seven weeks along during my last pregnancy and could barely make out the gestational sac on the ultrasound. There’s really nothing to do but wait for her next period. And maybe learn a lesson for next time—not that this is even the topic at hand, but I just had to say it. 😉

I mean, I don't care if my period suddenly stopped, though it could easily be because I found my dog dead that morning and went into actual shock. My head started pounding right after, and then my period just cut off, so that's a highly plausible trigger. And yeah, everyone around me has been telling me I'm acting like a little girl lately. I've been driving everyone crazy with this constant "am I pregnant or not" loop. 🙂The only thing I know for certain—just like I wrote before—is that I am NEVER doing this again without protection. 🙂Stay safe, ladies.😍

And honestly, ladies, if you’re truly so against having a child—if the idea of pregnancy is genuinely the absolute worst thing that could happen to you right now—then why on earth aren't you being more careful???

I mean, when you consider how many different types of birth control are available and easy to get your hands on these days, I don't get why we see yet another frantic post popping up on this forum every single week...☕

Hey there! I was wondering if anyone knows where I can go in Chicago to get this test done without needing a formal referral or anything like that... I just moved to the States recently, so I'm still trying to figure out how everything works here... 🤷 Also, does anyone happen to know if there's a fee for this? Just want to make sure I'm prepared 😉

You can head to any private lab and pay out of pocket without a referral; it should run about $150, $67 though it depends on the facility.
