I actually turned to my husband and asked him how many lines he could see, and he just goes, "Two—it's just that the bottom one looks lighter than the top one." 😍 😍 Oh man, he got such a huge kiss! And honestly, I did too! 😍

Congratulations, crimsoncrane3🎉 !!!
Now, that is how a real husband reacts when he sees those two lines🤣
I am truly happy for you😘 , though my own period is already two days late, so who knows... maybe there is a little something brewing there too
P.S. The ladies over at CVS are starting to give me these really weird looks because I've already bought my third test in just two weeks😬

You can always run the test again just for your own peace of mind—think of it as a little souvenir for later. As for the ultrasound, you should probably wait until after the sixth week, though your OB-GYN will give you the final word based on how visible things are at that stage.

I mean, fair enough—one day I'm casually asking about ovulation strips, and the very next day I'm walking in to grab a pregnancy test.🤣

I took a test on Saturday morning and saw two lines😍 😍(even though the second one was super faint, you could definitely see it!)
It’s been about 14 days since ovulation and I don't feel a single thing, zero symptoms whatsoever!!!😲 (other than my period being late, obviously...)😍

Sending more congratulations your way!👋 🎉

🙂 haha, and if that one comes back negative, I am officially done—no more testing beyond that—because I’ll end up blowing my entire paycheck on them🤣.

So, when should I schedule my first ultrasound? I don't want to go too early and see nothing.
Or should I just wait a few days and retake the test to make sure I get a darker line?

Unless you’ve dealt with miscarriages or issues with your reproductive health before, don't bother going in until you're at least 7 weeks along.
I actually went in during my 5th week just to rule out an ectopic pregnancy due to PCOS, and all they could show me was the gestational sac. I waited until the 8th week to go back, and by then we could actually see the heartbeat and the baby was already about 2 cm big.

Just hold off until week 7 so you don't end up stressing yourself out over nothing every time you visit the doctor.

Occasional cramping, sharp pains, or general abdominal discomfort are totally normal because everything is growing and expanding down there.
Only worry if you experience intense, unrelenting pain or any bleeding. If that happens, head straight to your OB-GYN or the ER.
As long as that isn't happening, just relax and enjoy this moment.

Just hold off until that 7th week so you aren't constantly stressing out before every appointment.

Occasional cramping or some abdominal discomfort is perfectly normal—everything is expanding and growing rapidly right now.
The only time you should worry is if you experience intense, persistent pain or any bleeding. If that happens, head straight to your OBGYN or the ER.
As long as that isn't happening, just relax and enjoy the ride.

Benjamin Nelson8, I haven't had any miscarriages (thank Quincy!), and during my checkup back in February, everything with my ovaries looked fine.
But how am I supposed to know if cysts have developed since then? Or if this is an ectopic pregnancy? 😲How can I tell on my own?
Am I waiting too long to get checked out? 😲And if it actually *is* an ectopic pregnancy, what signs should I be looking for?
What else should I be doing in the meantime? Besides taking prenatal vitamins and eating healthy?
Ladies, I need help!!!

Well, he’s certainly acting like a man who just saw two lines on a stick🤣
I'm honestly thrilled😘 , though my cycle is running about two days late, so who knows—maybe I'm just playing tricks on myself

Yeah, my husband is definitely the real deal! 😬
I grabbed one of those cheap First Response tests for about $4.25 and while driving home, I kept thinking, 'There is no way this budget option actually caught something,' but it turns out 👍

crimsoncrane3, glad you could join us!😘
And hey, things look a little brighter now with those scary predictions out of the way!🙂
Go for your ultrasound after the 6th week. If you go earlier than that, they might just see a tiny little dot and nothing else. I actually went in during my 5th week because I'd dealt with an ectopic pregnancy before, and I just wanted to make sure the little nugget was safely tucked away in the oven and not stuck in the chimney.😬
That kind of thing is super rare though.
For now, just try to soak up the excitement of being pregnant and hang out with us in the pregnancy group!😘

Ladies, help me please!!!

If it's ectopic, there isn't much anyone can do... a baby just can't survive in the fallopian tube.
Usually, when it's ectopic, you'll feel intense pain in either the left or right ovary as the embryo starts to develop where it shouldn't.

As long as you aren't dealing with severe pain or heavy bleeding, try not to panic. Just wait until you're at least six weeks along and then head to your OBGYN.

I didn't mean to scare you. 😘

Aside from the prenatals and eating well, there isn't much else you can do until the end of the pregnancy. Just rub your belly, talk to the little one, look at cute baby clothes, and slowly start picking out things you like.

Ugh, *sniffle*! Thanks, ladies!

I feel so strange, almost like I’m hiding a secret or losing my mind. It’s funny how I end up opening up and sharing everything with you all online, while my husband and I have agreed to keep this entirely under wraps for at least a month or two—at least until I’m further along.
He’s terrified of getting our hopes up too early, fearing we might face a miscarriage and then have the whole family treating us like we were being reckless. (Though, honestly, I doubt they’d actually say anything...)
As for me, I’m just praying that this sticks and that everything stays on track.
I think I’ve picked up a bit of this paranoia from watching you all.😬

It feels like you’re the only "real" people I can actually talk to about this stuff, since my husband doesn't really grasp the nuances of it all.😬
Part of me is so happy I could burst and tell everyone right now; I know my parents and his parents would absolutely lose their minds with joy if they knew.😍

I feel so weird right now, honestly, like some kind of criminal or a total lunatic... I end up pouring my heart out to you guys online, while my husband and I have actually agreed to tell absolutely nobody for at least a month or two—at least until I'm further along in the pregnancy..
He’s terrified that if we get our hopes up too early and then suffer a miscarriage, the whole family will think we're being foolish (though, let's be real, they probably wouldn't say anything...)
Meanwhile, I'm just praying that the baby stayed put and doesn't slip away.
I think I caught this paranoia from you ladies 😬

And besides, you’re basically the only "real" people I can actually talk to about this stuff (since my husband doesn't have the slightest clue about any of this 😬 )
But I am so incredibly happy that I just want to shout it from the rooftops; my parents and his parents would absolutely lose their minds with joy if they knew 😍

Don't even give that a second thought. I ended up telling the girls here first because my husband was traveling, and it felt awkward to do it over a cell phone.
I couldn't keep it bottled up; I wanted to tell the whole world... it's completely normal to feel that way, and you should be happy! We told our parents the day after my husband got back, and once he knew, the rest of the family found out in record time.
I didn't spend a single second worrying about it. We're already in our tenth week and we've already bought the stroller 🙂

How do you actually calculate how far along you are? 🙈 (Is there a way to post this anonymously so I can hide my identity? 😂 )
My last period started on September 27th, and I think I ovulated somewhere between October 12th and 15th—my cycles are notoriously unpredictable.

Pregnancy is calculated based on gestational weeks—starting from the first day of your last period—which means you’re actually about two weeks further along than the actual moment of conception.

Huge congrats on that positive test! 👏
Man, I barely managed to hold it together and not post here before the 8-week mark myself. 🤣
I told two of my best friends the very same morning, and even then, I just knew deep down they wouldn't breathe a word to anyone.
But then I thought to myself—to heck with that, if there happens to be any spontaneous loss, this is still a huge part of my life and I want to share it with the people who actually matter to me. I'm not going to pretend everything is perfect and act like nothing is happening.

Regarding those doctor appointments: I'm with everyone else here, don't rush in before week 6, it's really not worth the stress.
It's either everything is fine or it isn't, and there's absolutely nothing you can do at that stage.
The odds are, thankfully, on your side! 👍
Just try to relax, keep those good vibes flowing that everything is okay, and we'll all be right here with you. 🙂

I’ve barely managed to hold myself back from posting anything here for eight long weeks. 🤣
I told two of my girlfriends the same thing this morning, though I was certain they wouldn't breathe a word to anyone.
Then I thought to myself—to hell with it. If things turn out to be spontaneous, that’s just part of my story, and I want to share it with the people who actually matter to me. I have no intention of pretending everything is perfect or acting like none of this has affected me.

Regarding the inspection: I’m with the group here—don't head out before 6:00. It would be like showing up to a Broadway premiere before the curtain even rises; there's simply no point.
It’s either all working or it isn’t, and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.
The numbers, it seems, are actually on your side. 👍
Just relax and trust that everything will work out; we’ll get there eventually. 🙂

I’ve decided to go with the second option: dealing with actual human beings. 😁 I’m going to hold off on sharing anything else for a while. To those of you I haven't met in person yet, feel free to ask away—otherwise, I'd have absolutely no one to talk to, and I have a million questions bubbling up.
Thanks to everyone for the support; I’m certainly feeling the weight of it right now.
