need some advice here.....
I was expecting my period to show up on the 2nd, but it’s still MIA. Yesterday I picked up one of those pricey tests and it came back positive, but then this morning I tried a cheap drugstore version and it said negative. Is there any chance it’s because we had sex last night and he finished inside me? I'm thinking maybe when I went to the bathroom this morning, some leftover sperm mixed with my urine and messed with the reading, making it less than "pure." My appointment with the OB-GYN isn't until the 28th. What should I do, please help me out

Take another test in the morning. But there's a huge chance you're pregnant if one test was already positive, especially since you're already this late.

On Monday, I took an Intim Plus testβ€”on day 30 of my cycleβ€”and at first, there was just this faint shadow that only I could see 😁, but after a few hours, it turned into a pale line that stayed visible until I tossed it that evening. My cycles usually run about 32–33 days, though they can be irregularβ€”sometimes stretching up to 41. Tomorrow, Tuesday, I tried two Clearblue testsβ€”one standard and one digital that cost me $23 πŸ™‚β€”and both were clearly negative. (None of these three tests were done with that first morning urine...) Since my period hasn't arrived yet, I'm wondering if there's any point in testing again... ? I know nobody can give me a definitive answer, but I'm curious: how many days before a period can these tests actually show a positive?

It didn't lead to anything in the end... 😒 This month, I'm back to waiting for day 30 to see if I'll bother testing again 😁

Okay, I need some assistance here... PLEASE HELP ME out...

My last period ended on December 29th, following its start on the 25th....
On January 4th and 5th, we had unprotected intercourse.....and now it's January 10th.😁 🀣 Those were my fertile days... and for about a week now (since that first encounter), I've been feeling this tightness around my ovaries... increased urination, and quite a bit of discharge appeared today during sex... I just have this gut feeling that I might be pregnant; I feel strange, though in a positive way.πŸ™‚πŸ˜

When exactly can I take a pregnancy test??? I don't know how much longer I can wait.... My next period should arrive around January 24th (based on a 28-30 day cycle)....
But I suppose I don't really know if this is actually happening... or if I'm just imagining things....πŸ˜•πŸ€·

I should probably clarify... I have never experienced that kind of tension or those mild ovarian aches before. It is difficult to put into words... perhaps I feel something similar just the day before my period, but even then, rarely. I have certainly never felt anything quite like this. Now, I am left wondering if this is actually it... or what exactly is happening.πŸ™‚
And my breasts are quite sore, too.

There is no point in taking a pregnancy test before the day you expect your period to arrive, as it simply won't be accurate yet; your best bet would be to head to a clinic for a blood test to check your beta hCG levels instead.

That pulling sensation in your ovaries can often be a sign of ovulation, much like breast tenderness. Furthermore, the cervical mucus you mentioned is a classic indicator of ovulation, especially since an egg is only viable for about 24 hours after release. Therefore, if you are trying to conceive, you should definitely take advantage of this window today!πŸ˜‰

Well, I suppose 😁 was accomplished today.
By the way, how many days until I can withdraw my beta?

It usually takes about a week to ten days. Honestly, you would find it much better and significantly more affordable to simply wait for a home test. As for seeing your OB-GYN, I wouldn't recommend making an appointment until you are at least seven or eight weeks along.

Hello there, my dear friends, I’m finally joining the conversation here πŸ™‚ To start things off, I would love to hear from anyone who has dealt with symptoms similar to mine... I’ve been struggling with thyroid issues, ovarian cysts, and various other hormonal hurdles. For the past year, my cycles were completely erratic; I was prescribed birth control to manage the cysts and try to regulate everything, which actually workedβ€”my period has been steady for about four months now. My partner and I are desperately trying for a baby; we’ve been at it for a year with no luck, despite taking countless tests... 😒 though I am still trying to maintain a positive outlook πŸ™‚ My last period only lasted four days, whereas it usually runs for seven or eight. Around the middle of my cycle, I noticed this brownish, pinkish discharge that lingered for a couple of days, and honestly, I've felt quite lightheaded. Lately, my moods have been all over the place; I find myself laughing one minute and sobbing the next, which is driving everyone around me a bit crazy. In the past, I might have convinced myself I was feeling certain symptoms, but this time feels different, especially since I only stopped the pill a month ago. Still, nothing. I buy one test, it's negative; I buy another, it's negative again. I have an appointment scheduled with my OBGYN the day after tomorrow, but in the meantime, I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced these exact symptoms only to have a negative test result? What turned out to be the case for you? I’ve been incredibly anxious lately; part of me is praying it's just a faulty test and that I am pregnant, but if it isn't, I’m honestly terrified. 🀷

Honestly, I’m holding onto that same hope with everything I’ve got... about two years ago, I was in a serious car accident here in the States, and the impact caused some significant damage down there. It’s been a long road of surgeries and endless doctor appointments, just trying to get back on my feet. In the end, the specialists told me that while conception is possible, it’s going to be an uphill battle given the scarring near my kidneys and ovaries... ugh. So, I am truly, deeply praying for that little plus sign to show up.πŸ™‚)

Jacob, if you want my honest take, I’m not even late yetβ€”my period isn't due until the 5thβ€”but I have to admit, I've never dealt with this strange brownish-pink spotting right in the middle of my cycle before. Some people suggest it might be implantation, but since I've never experienced anything like this, I'm honestly at a loss. Given all the other symptoms I'm feeling, I can't help but worry; if this isn't pregnancy, then what on earth could it be?? ugh

Anthony Reed69, if you're bleeding right in the middle of your cycle, that could just be ovulation spotting. It's way too early to be looking for a positive test result at this stage... Good luck though.

I really hope everything turns out okay... I am practically counting down the minutes until 6:00 PM tomorrow when I finally get to hear what my OB-GYN has to say about all this. And honestly, I had assumed it was much too soon to even think about testing, but I suppose one can't help but harbor a little hope, can they? I'm just not entirely sure if anything would even show up on an ultrasound this early on.

A home pregnancy test won't yield results this early; they are designed for when a period is missed, or perhaps on the day it was expected. Regarding the ultrasound, read this article for some clarity: http://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/ultrasound/about/acm-20564831 though according to the medical consensus, you generally need to be at least a month along before anything is visible. Best of luck.

Thank you so much... honestly, last night I went to grab a slice of pizza and the mere thought of it made me feel physically ill, which I suppose is a bit much, but now I'm starting to wonder if I'm just overthinking everything. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how today unfolds. Thanks again, ladies, truly. :* :*

ina, we're waiting for you at 6:00 today!!! Just try to stay positive. We all have our own struggles to deal with, but things eventually find a way to work themselves out... just try to relax and stop overthinking it.
For me, this forum is a lifesaver. It’s easier when I can share my thoughts or read what others are going through; it makes the days feel shorter until January 12th, when I finally see my result maybe
Sending good vibes to everyone

Just wanted to give an update: no positive tests yet 😒but there is actually some good news. My husband didn't misread the tests, unfortunately :/ ; rather, my ovaries have finally started functioning properly and my hormone levels are normalizing πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ which explains why I was experiencing all those symptoms. As for that brownish-pink spotting, it's actually a sign that I finally ovulated πŸ™‚ so I am still feeling optimistic... I've been prescribed another round of birth control to get everything synced up, and once my right ovary is ready, they'll start me on fertility medication πŸ™‚ hopefully, my turn for a positive result will come one day soon... thank you, ladies. These forums really are a lifesaver because no one understands quite like people who are hoping for the exact same thing as I am :* :*
