Greetings,
I am new to this forum and would like to solicit your collective opinions regarding my current situation. I had intercourse during my fertile window, and frankly, the suspense of waiting for confirmation of pregnancy is becoming intolerable. My period is due on October 17th—assuming my cycle remains a consistent 28 days. For some time now, I have been experiencing abdominal discomfort, much like the sensations preceding a menstrual cycle. The pain isn't debilitating, but rather a persistent, nagging nuisance that won't subside. Additionally, I am experiencing increased frequency of urination and noticeable bloating. I have this distinct, unshakable intuition that this is actually happening.

It is far too early for a test. Just wait until at least October 17th. You'll only end up with a false negative, which doesn't even mean you aren't pregnant, and you'll just be wasting your money.

Hey everyone, I haven't been active on the forums for quite a while, but I'm hoping to spend some more time hanging out here now. Given how things are trending, there's finally a bit of light at the end of the tunnel; we had an HCG level of 10.9 back on September 10th, then absolutely nothing last Friday, but today we finally saw some progress... It’s actually quite a relief, especially since we’ve been working so hard on this little one 😍

Hey, I'm new here, and I've been dealing with some weird "symptoms"... I'm trying to figure out if I might actually be pregnant—what do you guys think? My cycles are usually off by a day or two, but my last ones were June 30th, August 2nd, and August 30th. This last period was 8 days late, finally showing up on October 8th. It was super strange, too—it lasted two days, skipped two, and then disappeared—even though my periods are normally heavy and last about 7 days. On October 12th (the 5th day of that period), I had sex and my boyfriend finished inside me. Three days later, I started feeling this weird throbbing pain in my uterus... and for the last week, I've been nauseous, and for the past three days, my breasts have been so sore I can't even wear a bra. I actually threw up last night, and now I'm just feeling sick and exhausted. Logically, it seems too early for PMS, and these definitely aren't my usual symptoms—but is it too soon for a test since my next period isn't due until November 8th? I’m curious about your experiences—is it actually possible to get pregnant from having sex during your period? When did your symptoms start hitting you? Thanks

It's possible that last period wasn't actually your period and you were already pregnant, so you could take a test now and it should give you a clear answer; otherwise, it might just be a stomach flu, but either way, it's probably best to just grab a test and find out.

Maybe don't test just yet, since I'm not scheduled to arrive until November 8th. I suppose it might be better to wait for that date, then perhaps run the test two or three days later.

Thanks for the reply. I get that it might be too early to test, but when would be the best time to check for beta levels? P.S.—I’m really not buying the whole "stomach flu" thing—the nausea won't let up, and I’m throwing up at least once a day... 😢 plus, my temperature has been sitting right around 99°F for four days straight?

I actually took a test four days before my period started, and it showed a super faint line—that was in the evening. Then I did another one the next morning, three days before my period was due, and the line was still pretty pale. That same day, I went in for a blood test and the levels were around 5 point something; the next day they doubled, then tripled... so, from what I've dealt with, if you actually know when your period is coming, a test can show a positive about four days out.

Thanks niika89... I was actually planning on holding out for another week before taking the test... Guess I'll just have to tough it out. :$

I’m running about 9 or 10 days late now, and I’ve been noticing a few things... I actually took a test just a couple of days ago, but it came back negative. Is there any chance the test was just lying to me? 🤷 😕.. or am I just totally overthinking this whole thing 🤷 because my lower back keeps aching out of nowhere, my breasts feel incredibly sensitive, I haven't seen any signs of my period starting, and even my usual discharge seems to have increased quite a bit... I really need some urgent advice here :/

You should definitely try taking the test again. The symptoms you're describing could certainly be attributed to PMS as well.😉

I've been dealing with these same symptoms for an entire week now, but absolutely nothing has changed... :/
And honestly, that’s exactly what’s got me so worried.

By the way, is your cycle usually regular? And what would you say are the odds of pregnancy, assuming there was unprotected intercourse?

I would suggest walking over to a local CVS or Walgreens to pick up a new test; if your period is already this late, even the most basic one should give you a clear answer.

Well, it’s usually pretty regular, but things happen... I mean, a few years back my period was nearly two weeks late, which was a total mess... and while we weren't using protection, he didn't actually finish inside me, so I guess you have to weigh the chances, right? Is it even possible through pre-cum? I don't know how much of a risk that really is...
I actually went out the day before yesterday and took one, but it came up negative, though I didn't use my first urine of the morning, so who knows...

Mhm, I can certainly feel something going on in my stomach right now.😍

Well, you see, that also depends heavily on when your ovulation actually occurred, since it doesn't always land right in the middle of your cycle, and you haven't mentioned how long your cycles typically are.

I say this with the best intentions: just head straight to the pharmacy and pick up another test. If you have a bit more extra cash and want absolute certainty, you should go to a private lab for a beta hCG blood test.
If the test comes back negative again, you likely aren't pregnant, but if your period still doesn't show up in a few days, please make an appointment with your gynecologist.😉

haha, so even you think there's no way for Eli... 😛
As for my period, it usually lasts about five or six days. And honestly, my husband and I are basically like two heat-seeking missiles most of the time, haha, so we try to make it happen every other day whenever we can, Eli, which means logically speaking, I was probably right in the window... hmm...

Greetings 🙂 My husband and I have been trying to conceive for about eight months now, and today I finally hit double digits on my late cycle—ten days. Last Wednesday, I took a test, but unfortunately, it came back negative. Naturally, since then, I’ve been stuck in this loop of gaslighting myself, convinced I was just imagining all the symptoms. I managed to schedule an appointment for December 18th, but honestly, I have no idea how I’m supposed to survive the suspense until then. I am terrified of seeing another negative result, yet I can't stop praying for a positive one. How on earth am I supposed to stop obsessing over this for two whole weeks? 😢

Actually, we knew it was possible, we just got a little carried away.😁

Considering how long your entire cycle lasts—not just the period itself—it definitely seems like pregnancy could happen.
