Linda Harris8 said:Alright, here’s the deal. I took a test.
Negative.

During my workout today, I felt this sharp pain in my abdomen and started bleeding—but it wasn't my period, just some light spotting...
Has anyone else dealt with something like this?
Could it be related to pregnancy? According to the test—I used an Easy Test—it says I'm not pregnant, but still...
Please, I just need some insight. No judgment, please; I’m not trying to be a nuisance or anything.

That happened to me too, and it wasn't pregnancy.
You didn't mention how late you actually are!

Go see a gynecologist right away. It could be an infection, or in a worst-case scenario, a miscarriage—though honestly, I think it’s just your period. Maybe a hormone shift made it lighter, but it's possible. That was my experience, except I had a hormonal imbalance that required treatment.
So, don't wait. If you haven't gone yet, get to the doctor within the next four days.
Good luck!🙂

But here's the thing: how on earth am I supposed to break the news that I think I might be pregnant without making it super awkward? How do you even start that conversation?😕

Just say it exactly like you did right here.
I don't see why that would be such an issue, considering he's your boyfriend.

Good luck.🙂

Can someone please tell me if I can actually trust this Clearblue test? I took it this morning, 28 days after the last time we had sex, and it came back negative. Honestly, I have no idea when my last period was or when this one is supposed to show up because I’ve been on Yasmin birth control. It was honestly such a nightmare to deal with—I was spotting the entire month I was taking them. Now my breasts are sore, I’m running to the bathroom constantly, and my appetite is through the roof, but I know those could just be PMS symptoms too. I went to see my OBGYN and she basically said it’s way too early to tell anything for sure. She told me to just grab another test to be certain, but she doesn't think I'm pregnant and wants me back for a follow-up in seven days. She did an ultrasound and said my endometrial lining is at 7mm, which means my period should be coming soon...
The reason I'm freaking out is because I'm terrified I might actually be pregnant. While I was on the pill, we were using a condom and it actually broke right after I took my sixth pill for the cycle. I rushed straight to the doctor the next day, and she told me I didn't need emergency contraception because the pill would still protect me. I just need to know—was I actually covered? Even though the side effects from the pills were brutal, I didn't vomit, so I'm assuming they worked, right?

Look, I know this is a bit of a brain dump, but I’m hoping you guys can make sense of it and give me some actual advice. Thanks in advance.

28 + 6 days—so roughly 34 days since your last period or when you finished your pill cycle, if I'm following you correctly... Honestly, I don't think you're pregnant because those pills provide protection against unwanted pregnancy even without a condom.

Did you take the pills consistently throughout the entire cycle, or did you stop because of side effects?

I finished an entire pack of pills, but during my seven-day break, I’m not even sure if my period actually showed up because I just had this weird brownish spotting. I took my last pill on January 10th, so now I have no clue when my next period is supposed to hit. Also, does having a bowel movement before my first morning pee mess with the results of a pregnancy test? I don't think so, but who knows.
if it's been 28 days since the last time we had sex (back on Jan 6th) and the condom broke a bit later (Jan 26th), do you guys think a test would show a pregnancy by now? I know I'm being annoying and asking probably stupid questions, but I really need some advice here. Thanks.😘

Hey girl!!
I’ve got a question for you 🙂))
My boyfriend and I had sex just two days after my period ended.
The period itself started one day after that and lasted about five days.
We took a pregnancy test 23 days after having sex and it was negative.
Then we tested on the day my period was supposed to start—negative again. Finally, when I was already 4 days late,
we did another test (Clearblue) and it was still negative.
My breasts started feeling sore seven days before my period was due, and they’re still hurting now, plus I’m already 7 days late. Is it actually possible for a test to be falsely negative three different times? Or am I just late for some other reason?

Thanks!!

It isn't a "false" negative... You just tested too early the first two times. You should test starting around the second day of a missed period. If that last test was negative, you're probably not pregnant. Breast pain could just be PMS. Your best bet is to call your OBGYN...

Hey ladies 🙂) I have one more thing on my mind. I’ve got an appointment scheduled with my OBGYN this Monday 🙂), but I really need to figure out how pregnancy weeks are actually calculated. To be specific, which week would I be in if ovulation happened on the 14th?
I honestly have no clue how to do the math on this...!!

Thanks everyone!!

You’ve been counting from the very first day of your last period...

Pregnancy is actually calculated from the first day of your last period. This means those initial two weeks aren't technically pregnancy yet since you haven't even ovulated. By the time you realize your period is late, you're technically two weeks along, though your doctor will record it as four weeks.

It’s just easier to track the start of a period than to pin down the exact moment of ovulation. 😬That said, during an ultrasound, your doctor might adjust the timeline if they notice the baby's size suggests ovulation happened a few days earlier or later than expected.

I'm a bit anxious because I'm not feeling any of the typical symptoms. All I have is breast tenderness that feels just like my PMS, but the usual stuff—nausea, cramping, or that weird metallic taste people talk about during pregnancy—just isn't happening. I guess I'll find out for sure when I head to the clinic this Monday.🙂))

Symptoms vary wildly from one pregnancy to the next, let alone from woman to woman. A whole range of things can happen, but none of them are a dealbreaker (unless you count your belly growing and feeling those first kicks :P)

Don't sweat it, 🙂

You can see the birth date and how many weeks along you are right here... all you have to do is enter the first day of your last period..

It's all subjective. I only had sore breasts.🙂

I honestly couldn't wait any longer
I just went ahead and took another test. I'm already nine days late, and yet, once again, it came back negative. 😢

Go see a doctor. A late period can be a symptom of all sorts of things, not just pregnancy—it could even just be stress. But you'll feel better knowing for sure.

Hey, what's up!

So I laid it all out for him, and his big response? He’s just "not ready" for this, so he told me to go get an abortion. Like, really?
Dana here—I just had my first doctor's appointment, and turns out I'm already 80 days along. At this stage, an abortion is way too complicated and risky anyway, so that's off the table. Now I have to head back in today and break the news to him again...🙂
