Steven Patel5 said:I know we’re all pretty immature and, frankly, a little slow on the uptake. Maybe that’s why God put this kind of test in our path—to force us to actually think for a second before we go charging blindly into things. Honestly, I’m mostly talking about myself here. I can be incredibly reckless, acting like I’m still eighteen years old when I really should know better... and man, I could definitely use the lesson.

Please, don't view this new chapter of your life as some kind of punishment. You're twenty-eight years old!!!

Steven Patel5, you’ve been given plenty of advice, support, and clear direction on how to move forward. I’m merging this thread with the existing one here: 😉

Phew! My girlfriend just took a test and the result was NEGATIVE. I can’t even begin to tell you how much of a weight has been lifted off my shoulders, though I wouldn't say I'm exactly celebrating either. Now we're just left wondering what the actual issue is, since she still hasn't gotten her period.
Thanks a ton for everything. Talk soon... catch ya later! :-*

Oh, Steven Patel5, you just won't admit that you actually wanted a little one after all. 😘 Best of luck; I hope everything works out fine for you and your girlfriend.

Look, obviously I want kids one day, but right now? It’s just not the right timing for us at all.
I've got other things weighing on my mind because, honestly, it's getting weird—my period still hasn't shown up and I'm already on day 16... I might run another test, though I saw with my own eyes that there was no positive line in that big window. We used one of those Intim Plus tests—you know, the new ones the girls on here swear by—but who knows. We'll just have to see what happens once we get to the OBGYN.

Look, a test can definitely give you a false negative, but it’s never going to be a false positive! Seriously, what are you guys waiting for? Just get to the OB-GYN already... and honestly, it's totally possible her period is just running late because of all the stress she's under...

Well, look at me... I used to give everyone else here such a hard time, basically telling them, "Just buy a test already!"—which, honestly, probably contributed to all those separate threads merging into this one. Now, here I am, asking the very same question.

So... I’m assuming I didn't. Okay, let me get into the details.
I was with him (XY)—he never finished inside me, and neither am I using any contraception, nor is he.
Basically, he didn't finish inside me, but we were fooling around after he did, and he hadn't showered or anything. And now... well, now I have my period. (Though, since I was pregnant during my last two cycles, I don't really experience a "normal" period anymore).
The issue—or maybe it isn't an issue—is that this bleeding doesn't feel like a period at all. I've only had to change a pantyliner a few times today, even though there's definitely some flow going on.
My breasts feel a bit firmer, but they usually feel like that before my period anyway. Usually, once my period actually hits, they just go soft... but they haven't yet.
So, what I really want to know (and I know I should probably know this myself, but I'm losing my mind here)—is spotting or physiological bleeding possible in early pregnancy? You know, like that mucus plug thing?
Anyway, I won't ramble too much; I'll check back in once I know more. For now, please just tell me if any kind of bleeding is considered normal during early pregnancy.
Oh, right—also, my periods are usually absolutely brutal, but this time there's no pain at all. Mind you, I was sick three weeks ago and barely ate anything, so maybe that's why my period is so light... if this is even a period. 😍
Okay, now I'm just sitting here laughing at myself.

Look, Joshua Clark.... girls have talked about this plenty of times already. There’s something called implantation bleeding in early pregnancy while the embryo is still "nesting" in the uterus. That plug you mentioned isn't that... the bloody, mucousy plug comes out right before you give birth, so we can definitely rule that out in your case. Just go grab a test and try it, or wait a few more days; maybe it really is just a light period, maybe you've been under a ton of stress or something....

Whatever happens, I hope you get the result you're hoping for! 😘

And you're saying you were actually sick too... did you end up taking any antibiotics or anything? I know from experience that whenever I take any kind of pills, my period tends to be incredibly late and starts out super light... so honestly, being sick could totally be the reason.

In the exact scenario you just described, I ended up pregnant. We used a condom, but then we went at it again afterward, and he hadn't showered, so apparently, a little bit of leftover sperm was plenty to make a baby happen. I know I'm not offering much comfort, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that things turn out exactly how you want them to.😘

Thanks, ladies. I’m bleeding a bit heavier today, but it’s still nothing compared to my usual flow.
Honestly, if I were pregnant, I definitely wouldn't be upset. I want a kid. Especially since right after giving birth—assuming I can even carry a pregnancy to term—I have to go under the knife. Basically, if I'm not pregnant, I'll need surgery very soon, which means having kids becomes off the table entirely. The timing is just terrible... really sucks. Even the first time around wasn't exactly ideal 😍
Nobody knows, we'll see. It is what it is. I just have to step up and take responsibility.

@neoncobra43: I know I’m being dense, but somewhere in the back of my mind, I had this thought—like, who am I to know? Maybe once all that (semen) dries up, it isn't as mobile anymore. You get what I mean? Of course, I wasn't actually planning for that; I just didn't give it much thought because I figured when the sperm are all together in that fluid mass, they're plenty mobile and all that (since most women can't get pregnant any other way...). But once that stuff dries out, it'll be hard for an XX or XY to swim out of it. Are you saying that was exactly what happened with you?

@placidjackal14: I wasn't on antibiotics, but I did have diarrhea and vomiting for a week—lost 10 pounds. I ate nothing, so I assumed the sample was weaker because of that. However, I've been eating normally for a while now. In fact, I'm eating a ton.
Hmm... was I even sick, or...? 🤔

Anyway, I can't wait to find out the exact details so I can let you guys know how fascinating nature is—and how even more fascinating idiots can be 😍 😂 🤣

Unknown... look, if you want a baby but you're worried you won't be able to have one after the surgery... just take action, talk to your boyfriend/husband... if you want to be pregnant, I'm crossing my fingers for you!!! My advice is to go see a gynecologist regardless, they'll be able to give you a 100% certain answer to your question......

do you have any kids already??

Yeah, I do... though it’s definitely not some perfect fairy tale. I’m a single mom. The father actually resurfaced after two and a half years of zero contact, and now he wants to be involved in everything. He loves our little guy, and we've been together constantly lately—things are honestly better than they used to be (this whole saga has been going on for five years now). We're currently trying for another one because we love each other and we want our son to have a sibling.
That said, I still don't fully trust him yet—we're both still students and all that...
So, the situation is light-years away from being "ideal" for having another baby. Plus, my doctor warned me that it's either get pregnant before the surgery or undergo the procedure and say goodbye to Unknown and Ramona—or whoever else (since I've always wanted my son to have a brother or sister).
Nobody—like I said the first time, and I'll say it again—
whatever happens, happens.
I am incredibly grateful to the universe for my son, and we'll just see if the universe decides I need more children in my life. 🙂

Hey Joshua Clark, sending you all the good vibes in the world... but hey, you're already seeing a bit of an upward trend if things with your son's dad are actually looking up!!! Good Luck Inc. 😘

Keep us posted on those test results...

Yes, that was exactly the situation for me, and now I’m at a total loss. I have a boyfriend and an only son who is so attached to his mother he can't stand to be apart from her, and the prospect of moving in with his family sounds like a living nightmare. Part of me has even considered just sending everything away and raising the child on my own. To put it bluntly, I feel like I've made a massive mess of my life.

Don't go there... how far along are you? Look—I'm a single mom, and let me tell you—nothing you think you know about being a single parent covers even 5% of what's actually coming your way. Sadly, that's just the reality.
Try talking it out with him one more time. Maybe you can find some middle ground—like finding a place for just the three of you nearby, or helping him realize that while his kid was the center of the universe before, a new little person is about to become the new center of the world. I don't know... I've seen this happen with an ex, and it's incredibly tough.
Either they get it or they don't. It's a messy situation, for sure.
But look at it this way: if he loves you and you guys work well together, his family will always be his priority. And that family is you and the baby you're carrying.
Give it another shot. If he truly loves you—and if he truly loves that child—I highly doubt he'd ever let you raise this baby all by yourself.

It’s a nightmare because he’s forcing me to choose between a mom and a dad. It’s a messed up situation; we both work, we both have decent salaries, but he refuses to even entertain the idea of having tenants or extra help. I thought I could count on him for support, but instead, I'm left wondering what happens if things go south with his people. Nobody gets along with his mother, and honestly, I envisioned my life going in a completely different direction—maybe grabbing a flight to Maui and just disappearing. It’s awful. I thought I found a good partner, but right now, love doesn't mean much. He needs to grasp that he and this baby are my number one priorities, and we need to build our own lives, not live under the thumb of his family—especially since his mother insists on meddling in everything.

So, wait... does he actually care more about his mommy than he does about you and your unborn baby? Look, leaving my own parents was incredibly hard, don't get me wrong, but I would move to the literal edge of the earth for my husband... just saying. Try sitting him down and having a real talk—explain that things will be way better if you two have your own space. Besides, if you end up moving in with his mother like he wants, he'll realize how much of a headache that "communal" living situation actually is sooner rather than later!
