So, I actually reached out to the catering company to ask where I should pick up the cakes and treats for the big dessert spread.
Apparently, if you're looking at cakes for something around 250 people, prices can swing anywhere from $567 all the way up to 2500 bucks.
I’m still planning on checking with a few other local bakeries just to be safe, because you know how it is.
Personally, I think those cakes covered in Ticino cream look pretty decent, but I’m leaning toward something with actual filling or maybe even a chocolate glaze—just feels more indulgent, I guess.
They also look really classy when they're stacked on top of each other, though I'm having second thoughts about doing a tiered setup; maybe sticking to individual stands would be easier to manage.

Not sure about delivery, but the price works out roughly $3.25 per person for the cake...

Our cake is already included in the menu, but we’re stuck deciding between chocolate parfait or Black Forest😍

I’d probably just go ahead and cover the whole thing in chocolate glaze.😍

I’m definitely on team chocolate myself, I guess,😍
I’m just honestly terrified that by June 30th everything is going to completely fall apart and melt down.😲

Look, she’s not gonna melt... I mean, any bakery has to have walk-ins or reach-ins on site, and they definitely have enough refrigeration. Don't sweat it... or if you really want to be safe, just ask both the shop and the caterers about their cold storage setup.

Shameful. A total disgrace.😠 I’ll go with the parfait. It sits much lighter on the stomach.

Ashley Adams4 said:Hmm, why is shipping so high... I mean, where are they even driving it from?
It’s honestly not worth it—my advice? Just find a decent local bakery nearby because this is basically just flushing money down the toilet. But hey, if you really want to... go ahead and pay 😉

It's not even about delivery $567 🤣 🤣
$567 It's a cake, and getting it delivered to my place in Chicago (which is pretty far from 😁 ) would cost like 200 bucks $133
The lady at the bakery didn't seem totally sure
And I wasn't even planning on asking Vinny to pick it up, I was just stopping by to get a rough idea of the price
I'm not even sure if we can even find those super "smooth" frosting cakes around here in Chicago, plus my godmother is visiting from New York City and she’s insisting on treating me to the whole cake herself

Hey, I just stumbled upon another cookie manufacturer
Anyone living on the east side of the New York City metro area might want to check this out

Anyone who drives out of town to deliver stuff should definitely be charging a delivery fee
I mean, come on, you've got gas and highway tolls to think about...

I was asking around at Magnolia Bakery and they mentioned a wedding cake would be around $567 plus whatever delivery costs

$567 ??!?!!?!?!? 😲 😲 😲
I mean, that feels a little pricey to me, I guess... though I honestly have no clue what the going rate is for wedding cakes when you're catering to like 180-200 people....

I paid Vinny about $0.50 for a cake for 160 people :-)

Our massive five-tier fondant cake designed to serve 300 guests will run us approximately $933, and that figure actually includes the delivery fee 😬

Heh, I realized the delivery was $567🤣. Given it’s from Vinny, the price isn't even an issue; his cakes are top-tier.

Aha....
Anyway, that’s actually a decent price for Vinny—but honestly, most decent bakeries are hitting those numbers now, so... I’m still torn between going with them or just heading over to Baskin-Robbins... can't make up my mind yet.😁

I think M&M might be the better call; they seem way less corporate than Vinny's, plus I've had their pastries before and they were fantastic!
They were definitely on my shortlist until I ran into Emma.😬

A fair price? 😕
Oh man... I don't know, it still feels like a huge amount of money to me for just one cake😕

So, I was at this wedding expo the other day—can't even remember which booth it was, honestly—and this lady tells us when we ask about delivery that they’ve actually sent things via Greyhound 😲 😲 😲 all the way to San Diego, and everything arrived perfectly fine
I mean, I guess... maybe my nerves just wouldn't handle it on the actual wedding day? Like, no way. I think I’d be staring at the ceiling for weeks straight, just totally losing sleep worrying if that cake would show up in one piece!

ha, ha... shipping them by bus... 🤣
Where I ordered from, they actually have their own refrigerated van, so I don't have to worry about what kind of melted mess shows up at my door.
