They’re just those fancy little roll cakes—basically, they have two whole bananas running through the middle. Once you slice them up, you get these banana rounds in the center that look like little cat eyes.🙂

That’s exactly right, analogmason15... my mother used to apply one cream made with dark chocolate and then follow it up with one made from milk chocolate.. 🙂 I honestly recall nearly choking on them back in the day, which I suppose explains why I ended up with such a massive backside 😬

Rebecca Fox2 said:Just wanted to give you guys a quick little update on the cookie prices. I gave the Sweet gift shop over in that small town in the US a call today, and they said wedding cookies are going to be $17/kg. The lady there mentioned we can just swing by whenever we want to grab some samples. So, my plan is to head out there soon to pick up a few things for a taste test, and I'll let everyone know how they turn out as soon as I've had a chance to try them. In the meantime, if anyone else happens to try them before I do, please let me know!

Rebecca Fox2,
did you happen to ask how much lead time they need if you actually end up ordering from them?

Man, I’m usually pretty on top of things, but I actually forgot about that! I'm hoping to swing by there this weekend though, so I'll definitely make sure to ask them. Thanks for the heads-up 😘

If you guys end up going, let us know if the pastries are actually any good—and whether you really need to pre-order everything that far in advance. 😍

The sooner, the better. I put down my deposit this past Monday for May 19th, and they already have three weddings booked for that date. Generally, they can handle two large ceremonies or one big wedding alongside two or three smaller ones.
And my aunt mentioned they’re already taking massive deposits by the bucketload!

In that case, we seriously need to get a move on. Did you grab those cookies for the taste test yet? Tell me everything—how are they tasting?

Ha, okay. I’m looking at September, so do you think I should have my deposit ready by then if I want a big wedding? How much does the deposit usually run? Did you end up booking with them?
Gosh, I just love this forum... A huge 😘 to everyone, ladies!!!!!

September might be a bit of a stretch right now, but why not call your aunt or just swing by a local bakery to ask. You can grab a cookie while you're at it 👍

I already put down my deposit with them, and I left $33, and the cake should cost me about $167!

We already put down a deposit $0.33-but man, we are going to be drowning in cookies. We're expecting like $300...honestly, Snow is the absolute best. You seriously get free samples just for checking her out - we actually got two different rounds of treats, and she even handed us a slice of cake to try... so we ended up ordering a bunch of cookies for Christmas too, and everyone was raving about how good they were.

Has anyone else ever come across that bakery called "Smile" over in Aspen? I’ve heard nothing but good things—I actually tried some of their pastries once and they were genuinely delicious. I remember stumbling upon their website a while back, but for some reason, I can't seem to track them down online anymore. If anyone happens to have the link handy, would you mind sending me a quick DM? Thanks!

We also put a deposit down with Emma. The cakes and pastries are delicious, but I’m lowkey worried about how the cakes actually look.🙄
Have you guys decided what kind of cake you want yet?
I want that smooth look—fondant style—but she's telling me it doesn't taste good. Now I can't tell if she's just saying that because she can't make it or if it actually tastes bad.

Unless I'm totally tripping, I think mine had that fondant stuff on it and everyone said it was freaking delicious...

Yeah, you didn't get it wrong. That’s exactly why it bugs me—this girl is trying way too hard to convince me that the whipped cream version tastes better. Whatever, I don't care about that—for me, it's all about the look. If I wanted to decorate a cake with fresh flowers, I'd go with the buttercream option. My main worry is if they mess up the bake and the whole thing ends up lopsided—if that happens, the whipped cream one is definitely the safer bet. 😕
I know I'm stressing over nothing, but what am I gonna 😁

Honestly, I didn't even know how to pull that off at first... but looking at the photo now, I get it. It’s just that sugar paste and marzipan mix, right? And since you roll it out so thin, there's no way it's going to mess up the flavor of the cake... nobody would touch it if it did. Besides, everyone who tried mine said it was killer. Just tell them you want that instead of whipped cream—personally, I think whipped cream is gross and looks messy anyway—and see how they react.
