Benjamin Hill10 said:Alright you geniuses, help me out like you always do. How many cakes do I actually need for 120 people if there’s no formal reception at her place or his? It's just a standalone party. 👋

Roughly 7 ounces per person... so we're talking somewhere between 55 and 65 pounds total.

And for heaven's sake, decide whether you're actually going to distribute the cookies or not😉—because if we are indeed splitting them up, you always need a larger surplus (unless, of course, you're just grabbing them straight from the platters and transferring them into new containers🤣).

you seriously need to check out the wedding cakes over at Crown...
I was honestly blown away, so I'm definitely going to give their head pastry chef a call to get everything sorted out

Do you happen to know if they have a website?

www.crown.com

I haven't actually spent much time poking around their site myself, but I'd imagine there's plenty of info on there that would answer what you're looking for!🙂

I actually made my mind up about choosing Crown a while ago, though I haven't sat down for the formal consultation yet—I really need to get that done as soon as possible... if you look at that catalog, there’s a phone number for the bakery located right on Divalt Avenue... that's where you go to finalize all the details, and they have photos of their cakes there so you can pick out exactly what kind you want...

We’re getting the cake from Meli—it’s this tiny, family-run bakery over in Brooklyn... Honestly, before I even got married, I knew for a fact that our cake was going to be from there. 🤣

They’re a little pricier than your average shop, but man, I have never once regretted spending a single cent on anything I’ve picked up from them... mmmm...

I seriously can't wait!!! 😍

What kind of numbers are we even talking about here?

That was my exact thought—honestly. Everyone keeps buzzing about how overpriced this bakery is, yet nobody is actually dropping any real figures...😬 Come on, ladies—anyone who’s actually been there and has the inside scoop, please enlighten us.😉

As for wedding cakes, I'm not sure... but their cake by the pound runs from $95 up to $35 depending on what you pick. I grab stuff there for my house all the time, and we order it for office birthdays and stuff too, but buying it by the large weight just isn't worth the money...

😲 That's honestly way too much—no matter how good they taste, it’s simply not worth the price tag.😎

That’s actually a steal—it's less than $3.25 per head, which is what most places charge... Any idea what their cookies go for? Per pound, obviously.🙂

I have no clue since I didn't grab any cookies from them myself... Mom ordered a batch from some lady down the street, so I haven't got a prayer of knowing how much they cost. :-)

Ah, gotcha. Thanks anyway.😘 Family is bringing the cookies, so we probably shouldn't order a ton unless we want leftovers... How far in advance do you need to book a cake? We haven't nailed down the date yet because of that mess at the restaurant, so everything's still up in the air.😢

analogmason15, I suppose it all hinges on which vendor you decide to go through... we actually placed our own order back in February to ensure everything arrives by August.
My wife mentioned that, under normal circumstances, one should probably aim to have things finalized about two or three months in advance.
