Oh man, I honestly can't remember the exact details! I just know that everything from the cakes $22, the mini cups, the pralines, and the chocolate fountains all have their own individual pricing... So, you either decide on your own how much of everything you want, or you consult with them like we did—they usually give you some advice since they’ve been doing this way longer than us.

Just shoot them an email or reach out on Facebook. Also, I recall they get pretty booked up ahead of time for dessert tables because they only take on maybe two or three setups per day, or something along those lines..

They seem incredibly affordable, and I’ve heard nothing but good things from people who used them for events. Apparently, they offer delivery, so I was wondering if anyone has actually had them deliver all the way out to Washington, D.C., and what that experience was like?

They deliver everywhere. 🙂
I used them for weddings before; they're affordable, and the feedback was consistently positive. Everyone said the desserts were excellent.

@Angela Smith2: As far as per-person portions go, you can honestly totally wing it because nobody actually knows what your guests are going to do, and honestly, maybe even you don't know either...

Look, just using my own experience as an example, for a round table of about... well, mostly ten people, we’d usually just grab one big box of pastries,

something like this, I have no clue exactly how many treats are tucked inside, but we used that as our standard measure. It wasn't like we were overcrowding the tables, we just wanted enough variety so everything looked pretty and well-presented. When we did those gift boxes of sweets for the family, they were the exact same size, except those were packed absolutely to the brim.

My wedding was in August and since it was so sweltering out, nobody even touched the sweets, maybe like... 20% got eaten at most. Everyone kept telling me afterward that they just didn't have any appetite for dessert, and the few people who did grab a couple pieces only went for the ones that were genuinely amazing. I ended up with a massive amount of leftovers, so I just handed them out at the end to anyone who wasn't immediate family so they could take some home...

So, if we’re looking at a box that weighs roughly 1.5 pounds, then according to my math—if I’m calculating the portions correctly—serving about 4 ounces per person for a group of 10 people at the table would equal 40 ounces. Since there are 16 ounces in a pound, that means one pound of dessert per table should be plenty. 🤔 Basically, having a kilogram—or rather, a full pound—of sweets per table seems more than sufficient based on those numbers. But honestly, I can't say for sure until I see more options. My wedding is scheduled for early September, so everything is still a bit up in the air. It could turn out to be quite chilly, making everyone crave something sweet, or it could be sweltering hot, in which case people might just grab whatever they can get their hands on quickly. 😁

Hey there,

Has anyone here actually dealt with slastica Babic over in Annapolis or Savannah? We ended up trying our very first cake at one of their spots 🙂 and honestly, we’ve been hooked ever since—their stuff is killer. That said, I don't know a single soul who’s actually hired them to handle catering for a wedding

I just caught up on these messages. It’s a relief to see a solid recommendation here too. 🙂
How did you guys handle the booking—was there a formal contract or a deposit required?
Also, did they size the cake based on the guest count? What flavors did you end up going with?

We started by sampling their pastries—we grabbed a tasting box and told them we'd be in touch. Once we decided to go with them, I insisted on meeting in person. The owner told me it wasn't necessary and that we could handle everything over the phone, but I preferred to iron out the details face-to-face. I wanted a professional recommendation on quantities and to show them a photo of the exact cake design I wanted. Dealing with things in person is always more reliable than an email or a call. Plus, we had extra treats to hand out, and since they carry branded packaging, I wanted to pick out some boxes myself (they had a few samples; I think we went with the ones featuring white roses) 😁
They are incredibly straightforward people. We settled everything in seconds. The owner took down our info, and then, right before the wedding, I gave them a quick call just to confirm. I tend to overthink things, so I wanted to double-check their delivery route and make sure the counts were perfect. 😵
As for the pastry selection, you can certainly customize it. They have a standard wedding assortment, and I actually liked how much variety they offered, though we specifically asked them to leave out certain items we didn't care for 😬 ).
Regarding the cake, we estimated the size based on the number of guests. It was chocolate, no walnuts.
If I recall correctly, we settled the full payment after the event.
I'll send the rest via DM 🙂

If you head over to the shopping district in New York City, there's a reliable shop called Partner; they carry everything for weddings, so you might find what you need there...

Hey everyone. I’m just looking for a quick bit of info here because, honestly, I really don't have the energy to dig through every single page on this forum 🙂 Unspecified, I was wondering if anyone has actually ordered cookies or cakes from Lucian’s bakery over in Newark? I’ve heard they’re pretty solid, but I’d much rather get some firsthand feedback before I commit. Thanks 😉

You don't need to read every page on this forum. Just use google to do the work for you. 👍

Scroll down a bit and you'll find the direct link to the page on this forum 👍

I mean, thanks 🙂 but I can't help but notice the same person popping up in several different threads, which feels a little suspicious to me :/

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good wedding cake bakery somewhere between Aurora and Akron. It would also be great if they offer delivery out to the Aurora area if that's an option. 🙂

I’ve been reading up on people who have worked with Abraham Lincoln over in San Antonio, and after browsing their website, I have to admit, I’m pretty impressed😁😁 everything looks fantastic, but in your experience, is the quality actually there? $22 It seems incredibly affordable, especially since they’re offering the lowest rate I’ve seen anywhere else at $30/kg... also, does anyone happen to know how they typically price their custom cakes?

I mentioned earlier that those cake prices were $3.25 per person. I guess it's hard to say if they'd be a good fit for you, though. Honestly, your best bet is probably just to head over there and do a tasting, because let's face it—just like any bakery, what one person loves, another might not.

We actually used them for our dessert table and the main cake, and our guests absolutely loved it.

Ah, my mistake, I only caught the part about the individual pastries... But that sounds great. In Seattle, you can easily find similar quality for about $7.75 per person..

I'm actually from Pittsburgh, and whenever I need cakes or pastries, I always go to Vera's bakery in that small town in Ohio.
Their pastries are seriously delicious, so I’m crossing my fingers that their wedding cakes are just as amazing!
I'm actually heading there today to finalize everything! 🙂
