Anne, here's my first shot at this: check out www.unusually.de under "wedding" or maybe www.brautmode-shop.com
then look for "cake toppers" and "funny cake toppers"

Morgan Morales2 said:Ugh, help me out here!

So, a close friend of mine who’s a total pro pastry chef is making my wedding cake—we’ve pretty much nailed down all the details, but I’m totally stuck on one thing: I need a killer alternative to those cheesy little bride and groom figurines for the top.
Does anyone have any cool ideas?
I was thinking maybe something cute like two little elephants or something along those lines... but where would I even find them?
I’ve been scrolling through the internet forever and honestly, nothing is hitting the spot.
I even checked out the catalog at Hobby Lobby, but they don't have anything remotely interesting, ugh!

Honestly, since I can't stand those wedding toppers—they all look the exact same to me—I decided to just go with strawberries all over the thing. It'll be chocolate on the outside with strawberries everywhere. I think it's gonna be killer...😍

Anne: Honestly, any decent pastry chef should already know how to mold those figures from dough or marzipan... check with her first, then we can jump in to help. 👍 😘

I actually hired a local baker to handle my cake, and now I'm kind of kicking myself—the whole thing turned out looking super messy and unpolished...
And the thing is, I didn't even ask if she could actually pull off that specific design, so I'm just crossing my fingers and hoping for the best.
I figured it would be way easier to just outsource it rather than bugging her, especially since she’s always slammed with orders.

Justin Nguyen6, that idea of yours is spot on! 👍
blueotter13, thanks a ton! 😘
I was browsing some German sites on eBay, and man, I did find a few things, but nothing is exactly cheap...

Nicholas Moore61, you can totally tell who’s the practical one here! Seriously great advice.

As for the rest of you ladies, just let me know what you're curious about. I can dig through some stuff online or translate whatever you need. Honestly, you could just Google "wedding cake toppings" and find a million ideas... there's tons of options out there.

Morgan Morales2 said:Look, they don't strictly have to be elephants... I was just using them as an example.
I only mentioned them as a backup since I noticed Vincent has them available.

blueotter13, thanks!

You could always just use initials; you can find those details over at Denny's.

I was actually thinking about tossing in some fancy truffles... something we both absolutely love... just easy finger food... 😁

Has anyone here ever ordered a wedding cake from Magnolia Bakery? My big day is only a month away—and I haven't even placed my order yet—so any advice would be greatly appreciated...!!!!!!!!!

I put my cake order in at Vineland almost three weeks before the wedding... mostly because I nearly forgot to do it entirely! :-)

@Alex Moore28, where on earth did you order that cake? It looks incredible, and honestly, I need to know the price!

As you can see from the photos, my cake was a bit lumpy—some weird bumps here and there—but honestly, the flavor totally makes up for the looks. I’ve had plenty of cakes in my life, but this one? Next level. It had this parfait texture that felt just like ice cream, wrapped in rich chocolate. That combo actually caused some of those structural lumps, but man, I can't even begin to describe how good it tasted. We made enough for 200 people, and even though the guest count ended up slightly under that, every single slice was devoured. Huge shoutout to Magnolia Bakery for making such an incredible cake; we were so distracted we completely forgot to decorate it, but hey, things happen when you're busy😬
Oh, and that mess on the floor? That was my mom’s platter, which I partially sat on myself... Seriously, the server started trying to carry the cake in his hands, and I'm just standing there thinking, "Are you kidding me?" You can't just palm a wedding cake meant for 200 people. I froze when he tried to hand it off to me, and before I knew it, the thing was already hitting the floor. I only realized the extent of the disaster once I saw the actual cream inside. I told my husband, "That was a real cake..." 😲... and then the actual masterpiece arrived. At that point, I was just too overwhelmed and confused to react properly😬 😬

We actually got it at Hemingway’s. To be perfectly honest, it wasn't quite exactly what I had envisioned, but it served its purpose! We paid $800 for a crowd of 200 people.

Man, those cakes are pricey. Seriously, what a rip-off. Not that I’m even much of a sweet tooth anyway.

My wedding cake is gonna be four tiers—square on the bottom, then three round ones on top. Each level is a different flavor, and I’m going all out with chocolate frosting on the outside. It’s looking like it’ll run me about $117. 😁 😁 😁

The only thing is, if the bakers tell me they can handle the custom gift boxes (still waiting to hear back), the price might jump up a bit.

Which parfait did you use? I'm looking for that exact combo—heavy chocolate on the outside and something light and airy inside. I think I'll decorate mine with some orange and green butterflies...😍
